      I'd assume that, during their drive to the 50th state, a flooded engine would happen. Mmmmmmm, salty!

    My thought on accidents with insufficient or no insurance when it's a clear cut fault...
    You own the offending item.
    Yup.
    It's impounded by police, cited as fault and the offending party has 7 days to make good on the repairs caused by the accident.
    If not, the property becomes legal ownership of the other party.
    Can be forfeited to the police auction and the sale price, minus 25% for the police, is sent to the nonfaulted party.
    "But I need my car to go to work."
    No, you NEED to pay for the damages you incurred - and this is how you're doing it.
    No more "General" 50¢ insurance.
    Get coverage, be aware of your vehicle, take responsibility.

    Lived in cars busses and trailers for most of my childhood. Then became a trucker when I grew up. Seen some crazy stuff. This was tame. First time I saw your channel. Like it so far. Don't let people tell you to stop, and don't listen to those telling you to buy a house and get off the road. It's a great life, till you want to stop. When you want to put down roots then you put them down but not before. There is so much to see and do. You don't want to limit yourselves because others are cowards! Anyways hope You have the greatest time out there!!!!!

    i have been to 47 states by myself and slept in my car. Arizona was cool, sedo na, AZ Mesa, AZ camping only $8.00 per night with showers. Key West, Florida 8 months i stayed there, showers outside on beach, went camping with tent $17. a night, youth hostel $20.00 a night. I was a able to cook there. When i was in Lake Charles, Louisanna and Sulfer, LA they had showers at a gas station for men and woman separate she gave me 30 tickets to take a shower everyday for $5.00. Showers at campgrounds i would stop in and they would charge $5.00 to take a shower. Also, in Minnesota a motel owner let me stay for $270.00 for a whole month. Old fashioned place but it had hot water, heater, cable TV, big room. Look in local newspapers for things when your traveling. Oklahoma, several people tried helping, i lived with a woman for $100. a week in a trailer park with my own bedroom. Austin, Texas they have free showers at a lake they have there from 5 am to 8 am you just drive in and it is free with hot water. I also went to YWCA for $20.00 a month for showers, hot tub, sauna, steamroom everyday. Campgrounds are free (premative camping) in Vermont. Arlington, Vermont Kelly Stand Road, free camping, bring RV or tent. Free camping in Honolulu, Hawaii, get 2 week pass a city hall for FREE camping at campground with showers/toilets.

    Wow! Excited for this series! As somebody who lives from their van in Maine, I've got some pointers when you get out here! Walmarts tend to be not so RV and overnight parking friendly in the north east (they're few and hard to come by) BUT I've had a lot of good luck with Hannaford in cities (like Portland) and Shaws. We also have lots and lots and lots of parks and camp ground. I'm sure you'll hit the white mountains, and you can probably set up camp there (and that covers multiple states!) without any trouble. Happy travels!

    Currently, have retired from RV life, cause of medical conditions/small retirement finances. Retirement funds have not met with the international financial index. SS Ins. is nothing, does not combat cost of living. Plus some genes, grow older faster; can not keep up with traveling.
    My favorite is a small TOY HAULER; because there's a lot of things you could do in the attached rear garage and if you don't get a fifth wheel toy hauler, just conventional toy hauler, you can always get a new TOW UNIT: ( Truck or SUV); not out a lot of money compared to the class A or Class C motorhomes. Any types of RV Trailers, is having a diversified RV portfolio. I ENJOY the garage portion, great protected garage- patio, plus some have bath tubs and frt kitchen in the floorplan. I hate galley kitchen, cause of traffic flow issues. Garage is great storage for toys, or thro in air mattress, great sleeping. Slide outs are okay, but just another problem, when least expected. Solar panels are must have, better then generator….
    Class A Motorhomes okay if you're going to be mobile, & have lot of bank accounts for infinity of repairs. . They're very expensive to maintain/ operate, they have a lot of toys on them, so be ready for breakdowns, warranties are useless. Accessories are known to break break break… If you wreck them, Ins. are very poor to pay out!! Not many mechanics really know how to work on them, expensive $$ beast. Good mechanics are working in union auto garages, not RV garages. Diesels are smelly, both around the patio and smells lurk in to the units interiors. I ditched my diesel, could not stand the smell of diesel around the coach.
    Class C motorhomes are very mobile to get around, sleeper over the cab is a waste of time : either too hot or too cold for good sleeping and if your senior, it's very risky getting in and out of there. Plus if there's two people sleeping up there, the frame over the cab really can't support much activity. Class C is more affordable, less toys on them compared to the Class A & the upkeep is considerable less, plus USA parks are designed to fit class C, not class A.
    I would prefer a truck frame chassis with a trailer attached to it, because if you don't like the truck frame chassis, always get another one, just remove the trailer, get a new Chev /Ford truck frame, and attach the trailer on to the frame.. Engines are up front, so repairs are much easier/ cheaper, cause of being accessible.
    I have: Class A, Trailer and Truck camper. Truck / SUV are the only two of all of the above mentioned units, which have Lemon Law Protections. RV in general, carry no help from the courts and RV warranties, are collection of A-Z products and not insured by one manufacturer. My trailer is great for long length stays in the desert, Class A is okay, but expensive for interstate traveling and my camper has over 500,000 miles on it, as this is my weekend RV and gets a lot of usage. Wish my camper had a Murphy Bed, hate the over head sleeper and most of the time, sleep on floor. Store my units on my property and visit them daily.
    SIDEBAR: Ageing, lack of finances, is not our friend for RV’s and traveling. Remember, RV’s are not loved by everyone, there is equal love/ hate for RV’s, as many call us trailer trash. Many cultures invading USA are not warm/fussy towards RV’s.
    Stellar boon-docking is great, when traveling day to day. Prefer to pay to park and received full hookups and use the unit, which is was intended for: FULL HOOKUPS. Remember, there is no LEMON LAW to protect RV units, so off road n boon-dock with caution, as the units are built very fragile & not intended for moon terrain walking. Snow n freezing temps, are not RV best friend, no matter how they are rated, they have no LEMON LAW protection against severe low temps. Remember, over night fees for RV camping can be pricey, some are reaching $100 ( PLUS) per night and more and more are privately owned w/ annual membership by prescription.
    Point of Interest, no RV was designed to travel: Snow, freezing temps and day after day rain/wind storms. Extreme weather quickly takes years off of the RV coach, there were not built for this abuse.
    Here is a question for all RV owners: Do you advertise your bank account finances to the world? Reply: No!!!. So why advertise the cost of your RV to the world: via fancy paint jobs, luxury tow units, luxury tow boats, chrome everything/ anything. RV’s who advertise their wealth, are only advertising to the nation, I have arrived in wealth and heck with your thoughts. Flashy RV’s ruin lifestyles for everyone. Stellar & non-monochromatic downplayed units, fit in everywhere and are less offensive to the nation, which do not have RV’s. We live in a country of extreme biases. Less is really more, when traveling and exploring USA.
    littlefreelibrary.org/start/
    I belong to this free library, allows me to pick up books for free, anywhere in the USA and return to any location. Every city has this and is free and better then internet books. I have spent days in parking lots, using Wifi for free, when many stores and restaurants provide it for free. Now the little library, allows for national library, where ever anyone travels for free. RV’s don’t need TV/ IT/when we have free books at our disposal. Remember, some books, government archived shows, you tube, news, etc. can be download from IT for free, providing 100 hrs of viewing, anytime, anywhere, without IT connections.

    Maybe it's because I'm European (UK) but I can't get my ahead around the fact that people in North America seem obsessed with sleeping in supermarket car parks. I have owned a motorhome/RV and am looking to purchase another one shortly but there is no way I would consider staying overnight in such a place. I understand the lifestyle of being on the road etc, but IMO parking in those places are no way a step up for the freedom lifestyle that so many similar people on YT keep going on about. However, I would understand if it was due to financial constraints.

    • @flower2364
      @flower2364 6 лет назад +10

      I am also European but having travelled in the USA in an RV I can tell you its common practice to use such places and is for the most part perfectly safe. Travelling in the USA is a whole different ball game to travelling in Europe. Truck stops often have hook up, somewhere to deposit waste and access to water...We travelled around for nearly four months and loved it.... I aim to go back but this time in my own camper which we will freight over. Its costs the cost of flight tickets and we can go as well. We intend doing Alaska, Canada and the USA and if its safe (which we have to research first) we'll perhaps think about crossing the borders into Mexico. So much to see over there.

    • @ontheroadagainwithvinny931
      @ontheroadagainwithvinny931 6 лет назад +4

      I understand it is common, didn't question the aspect of safety and I have been to the US on many occasions plus Canada and Mexico, many of which were road trips but not in RVs. My point is that sleeping overnight in a supermarket car park or truck stop is not my idea of a holiday or a positive change in lifestyle from a fixed abode. I understand if those decisions are made due to financial constraints but there are many RUclipsrs who drive around in $100,000+ RVs extolling the virtues of being on the road then stop in a supermarket car park or truck stop - and follow-up with videos about their neighbours' poor camping etiquette in such places!

      Ya we normally don’t stay at parking lots but it was conveniently along the way and we could stock up on food & gas etc. Also we’re doing this trip not for the lifestyle but to inspire more adventure among families (see our other videos for reference) but went with an RV so our little girl could have a “home” as we go about every state in the US

    • @flower2364
      @flower2364 6 лет назад +4

      Chenzo Travel Videos & More they are in an RV to travel and not sit in a camp site for days on end to use its facilities. They’re simply stop over places and why not? It’s free, they have access to groceries on their doorstep and so many do it, it is just like being in a campsite because the Rvs tend to stick together. We spent many a night sitting outside having dinner talking to our new neighbour for that evening. Just as good as any bay on a campsite and we saved ourselves thirty dollars a night on average. No stays for long and they move on to uh....travel!

    Spent almost 25 years as an over the road trucker and one thing I can say for sure is that if you think you might be parked in a spot, even a designated parking space, where you could be hit then rest assured that someone will hit you. I kept my dash camera on for this reason. Seen trucks backed into and the perp tried to drive off to avoid getting into trouble. IMO there is not enough training with regards to larger vehicles. You can spend your whole life driving nothing larger than a sedan, never learn how to pull a trailer and then retire, go out and buy an RV that doesn't require a license other than the one you already have, thinking that you're good to go. Trust me, you're not. Men are the worst because we are convinced that hidden within the Y chromosome is all of the "masculine" knowledge that we'll ever need, just waiting for us to call on it. Same thing goes for trucks, they run them through a driver's training course, usually in house, which no matter how comprehensive really only teaches them the basics. Doesn't mean they're bad drivers, just inexperienced, then they put them with a trainer who likely only has a year or so behind the wheel themselves. Eventually turn the guy loose with a 53' trailer and tell him to go for it. In the minds of both the RV driver and the truck driver they really don't know how much they have to learn because of that inexperience and right now they are the best driver they've ever been. Years later they'll look back and wonder how they didn't kill someone.

    To the Jurgy's You should look up Fresh Water Springs in whatever State your in because sometimes you can get Free Spring Water for Drinking. It comes right out of the Ground and sometimes thru a Pipe. They are maintained by the Forest Dept. But you do have to bring a Container.

    Georgia ~~ We live in the North Georgia Mountains.
    Woods , streams and Lake Blueridge.
    We have land and a huge circular driveway that fits 3 big Rv.
    We also have a huge renovation old farmhouse that has lots of room.
    The only drawback is we have huge dogs that love everyone and they think they should be in your lap.
    There are so many things to do and we are 5 miles from North Carolina and 7 miles from Tennessee.
    That’s the truth, sound crazy 😜 but it’s awesome.
    I’m from Atlanta and my husband from Auburn and we moved here 14 years ago.
    Rafting and the Blueridge Scenic Railroad.
    Hiking. Biking and tubing, zip lines and so much more.
    It’s a three state trifecta.

    The Walmart video needs a special codec to play. I don't remember which one for sure. I had to figure out how to get it to play for my Lawyer years back. (Edit: I really should have charged him for it. Helped him get a video for another case to play also. That one was dashcam from a police car pulling someone over for a drug bust.) I found it by doing some Googling.
    I could try to find the email with directions that I sent to my lawyer, but I'm not sure if it will still be in my email.

      We lived there for seven months, air force...I do not know how people survive the humidity. Drink lots and lots of water, make sure baby is super hydrated. Humidity takes the lives of the elderly and infants pretty quickly if they're not properly hydrated and kept cool and comfortable. Heat stroke/exhaustion is really scary stuff. The humidity literally pulls the water right out your flesh. ✨It's suggested not to do high strenuous exercise in high humidity and to stay in around noon... I apologise if I'm repeating things you already know but that baby is tooooo cute not to say something, just in case. 🌸 Safe travels.

A trailer detached from its tow vehicle and lazily came at me, dragging the tongue. It stopped about six inches from my front bumper! Thank you God! LOL I helped the guy get it back on the hitch and attached properly WITH the tow chain this time.

    You guys are so naive. I hope first of all you own a gun. Second of all, you don't need permission to film anyone (especially police) in a public place. And 3rd, yes you can stay at Wal-Mart parking lots but there is a cost to everything whether it's "free" or not. It's also a really horrible idea to advertise to the world who you are on the side of of your RV. You are inviting people to rob you. What you are doing is super cool but for God's sake, take some basic measures to protect yourself.

    My parents RV was parked in our driveway, which shared a boundary with the local fire deptartment. The cellar savers backed a fire truck in to the drivers side of the RV, right where shore power plugged in. I was asleep in the motorhome, got knocked out of the bunk by the collision, ( it was the middle of the night). Fire dept tried to deny it was their fault. So i fully understand your WTF is going on exasperation. Stay safe
