    I feel you on this heat sir. enjoyed the video. I'm always showing off the guns whenever the woodbeez come by lol

      A bit swampy out there to put it mildly. Keeping condensation off the camera and scope lenses a bit of a challenge sometimes.
      Man, those carpenter bees do make good targets 😁

    I really enjoy these Airgunning & BS episodes! It’s a nice way to let us know what’s on your mind while showing off your beautiful rifle. I also like when you show us other airguns in your collection.
    I don’t know why, but it’s relaxing and enjoyable to watch you shoot.
    Congratulations on two years of Field Target Shooting and the Wedding of your youngest daughter!!! Great times!

    Thanks for the update. I went to the club today to practice, but between the heat and the various other matches going on, I wound up painting targets instead. I hope Ken and Leo and the rest of the springer folks do well in South Africa. And the PCP folks as well, but mostly the springers.

    • @Guru1ofatl
      @Guru1ofatl  Год назад +1

      "but mostly the springers" best comment ever! 🤣
      It's about time to throw some paint on our targets as well. Trying to figure what is kill zone versus stray hits definitely adds to the challenge.

    Great video mate! 😁👍 I own two 97's one with thumbhole for target shooting an one with the conventional stock for pest control.

    We raised 5 daughters (now have 11 grandkids and number 12 on the way) I hear ya on marrying them off. LOL Stressful and well lets face it, emotional too. Nice rifle.

      I lost a lot of hair raising our two girls lol. Wouldn't trade that experience for anything though.
      Raising 5 daughters must require a level of stamina and patience that I can't even fathom, that's impressive!
      My wife has found great pleasure in loading the grandchildren up with sweet tea (raw sugar in liquid form) and sending them back to mom. Mom is not amused, although our giggling each time probably doesn't help matters.

      @@Guru1ofatl 🤣 load with sugar and send home sounds very familiar, lol. I too wouldn't have traded any of my girls. Great memories to cherish. But now that you mention the hair that explains what happened to mine. 😁🤣

    What are your observations and opinions of the Hawke FFP Scopes ? I love the function of the FFP reticle, but I just can't see the cross hair close up... 😣 Reminds me of the old Weaver fine reticle and I could barely see that back in the day. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Gonna have to start carrying a white cane to the range ! 😂

    Raised 3 Daughters, and 1 Highly Over Protective Son, Thank God ! 😥
    Recently recommended the Airmax 13 321 to a new FT shooter. Never really pictured myself doing that ? The Glass is adequate, but the overall the scope is Bombproof, and full, and more importantly highly functional and reliable kit !!! 😉👍 Not a Swarovski but it just does everything in It's class WELL and it's not delicate or temperamental. Not a particularly inexpensive scope but everything in the kit integrates and functions perfectly. Might seem overwhelming starting out but a fully functional scope that honestly ranges IS a Good Value ! 🤷🏼‍♂️
    I've seen prettier glass but none that functioned as well coming out of the gate. 😉

      Raising our children is easily the most frustrating yet rewarding experience I've had. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
      I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the Airmax. The image quality is definitely lacking but the ranging is darn near digital. I've managed to pick them up for around $400 and at that price, I'd say they're a bargain considering what you get in the box.

      @@Guru1ofatl I use to wrap my wrap my Weaver V24 in aluminum foil on the bad days, but there's no getting around 90% humidity 😰 I've heard of guys using Rainex anti-fog, but there's just mo way in hell I'm messing with my scopes coatings... 😕

    • @Guru1ofatl
      @Guru1ofatl  Год назад +1

      @@marcmyers1465 Generally the humidity doesn't cause too much trouble if I let the gun come to ambient temperature first however, there was one especially wet match where keeping the lenses clear just wasn't an option. Not sure I'm willing to risk Rainex or similar coatings.

    How well do the Sidewinder's hold up on a Springer ? If I'm shooting target, most likely a 12 fpe. rifle... 🤔

    • @Guru1ofatl
      @Guru1ofatl  Год назад +1

      I've had no issues out of mine at sub 12 fpe. I talk a bit about my experience with it in the latest Aigunning & BS video.

    Hey, Russ... What output do you have you 97 tuned for ? 🤔

    • @Guru1ofatl
      @Guru1ofatl  Год назад +1

      Currently tuned for 11.5 fpe running 8.4 grain pellets.
      Short shot cycle and bucks the wind fairly well.

      @marcmyers1465 Год назад +1

      I was honestly wondering if you set your's a skosh lower ... Which pellets ? 🤔
      I'm considering re-tuning a rifle before I list it. I built the rifle to customer spec, but they flaked on the sale, leaving me with a bit of a Rocket. 🤨
      I almost always tune Sub 12 so that's not exactly what we do here. 🤷🏼‍♂️
      Kind of a Red headed step child. 🙄

      @@marcmyers1465 I'm currently running H&N Baracuda 8's. I've found they are more consistent than the H&N FTT. Probably due to new tooling.
      I've run it as low as 10.5fpe but with the way its tuned it really makes no difference in accuracy. Based on that I run it a bit faster to get a slight edge when dealing with wind.
      Yeah that's the downside to custom jobs in my experience. I prefer doing the work and selling it as a completed package. There are few platforms I'm willing to hotrod nowadays. I'd much rather focus on efficiency and accuracy.
