IT tech: Hello how can we help
Customer: My PC isn't working
IT tech: Have you tried a pressure washer on it?

wow.
funny.
comment i have see
Ridiculous how you find this stuff because people still think their win xp computers are still worth 50$
XEPBEP YZHVA Wow, $50? I wouldn’t sell a Windows XP relic for $50! That’s madness! I’ve got a Windows XP laptop that barely boots and I’m considering buying another old XP running machine so I can strip it for parts and repair my 15 year old laptop with it, but if it’s gonna cost $0 dollars it might just be cheaper to buy new parts for it.
@@justanotheryoutubechannel They do infact, you could have a quite good graphics card on window xp..

i would have died if when he said "as for the motherboard' it cut to him pressure washing it away.
Lalnable Hector all the pressure blows the capacitors off and into the fucking outer solar system
When I worked in a board assembly house we'd throw all the circuit boards we made into a dishwasher to get the water soluble flux off of them. The boss swore by Whirlpool.
I've been saving up money so I can spend my life savings of £5

You can build yourself a pc
Are you indian XD
about to like the comment till i saw that pfp
Oh well I saved 10 pounds so I can probably get a gaming pc lol
When OEM's use better I/O shields than many so called "gaming motherboards"
Admittedly, this was a lovely board to work with... so was the case... in fact for £2 the whole build was lovely :D
i just love to paintjob those acer cases
If you don't mind waiting, Phenom X3s can be had for ~4.50 GBP! Or Athlon X2s for about ~2.60 GBP (on eBay). Though I guess things might look a bit difference across the Atlantic...
I don't know where to begin for the GPU, but I guess the IGP wasn't the issue here anyway! Fun video. Before I built my current, I did a $30 upgrade to a great price on a Phenom II X4 955. I'm not looking to find a socket 939 Athlon X2 for my oldest workstation I still have around, for funsies. I wish I still had my Windows 95/98 machine. That thing had like a 3 GB HDD! I played a lot of Starcraft.
Kirfkin: I have an upgrades video planned, the motherboard says it doesn't support Phenoms but I will try one just to see :D
If there is a possibility to upgrade the bios it might be worth checking if you can mod in code for say an am3 95w cpu via some microcode editing/upgrading.
Then you'd manage to put in a athlon II x4 640 for example which paired with a gtx 460 is a great budget system for cs go & similar e-sport titles.
All joking aside... I may not get lucky enough to build a PC for $2 but it's pretty good to know that I can easily make something usable for at atleast $50... which is good enough...
For $50 you can do way better.
Him eating while waiting on Windows to install was EASILY my favorite part of ANY build I've EVER watched! LOL!!!
Your dinner is probably the most appetizing part of this video.
Bizz493 Hot
The thermal paste is lookin kinda appetizing I gotta say
Your right PC’s don’t taste to good
*Please don’t ask how I know*
Cheesy The Gamer how do you know?
Not anything to do with win xp but I went on Facebook marketplace and searched for a 7770 and I saw a kid listed one and said will only accept offers over £100 😂😂, are u crazy maybe 3 quarters off that then we can discuss details.

iRuffy :D oh it's true
Honestly just watching someone teardown and clean old pcs is so relaxing
Good ole T180. I have one that was given to me. It had a Sempron that I upgrade to an Athlon X2 5000+ with a 120mm AIO cooler from Coolermaster. I had a GTX 650 TI boost in it for about a year but I gave it to my nephew. Still a good pc for some games.
ls that Simcity3000 soundtrack? anyone?
HellenicBlackMetal: You have a fine ear for music....it is an amazing soundtrack :D
Thank you :) that was 1999, jeez lm old
Deffo, recognise it anywhere.
I thought I was hearing a remix of the Bowser boss music from Yoshi's Island.
I knew it.
Love the thumbs up after removing that sticker. The amount of times I've had some tech and forgot to take a sticker off! It's aways the same reaction" Flippin heck, forgot that!".
install lubuntu on it, you'll get a better experience with only ~300mb of ram usage from the os
Dread Steel agreed
xubuntu or Manjaro XFCE hve similar RAM usage and are a lot more customisable.
what the hell can you with ubuntu anyway.
Whatever you want to do. Lately I have just been building a lot of source trees. It is kind of like a text based puzzle game. The configuration process, or the build process spits out some cryptic error message and you have to figure out what you need to do in order to set things right to run the game 100%. Git 'er done!
Or don't. And use an operating system with decent compatibility
From now on, I'll always carry at least 2€ with me in case I meet an guy who sells PCs that cheap
Came back to this video 2 years later because I forgot which version of hflife you played since I hadn't played half-life then and I only remembered sand and alien like creatures
I heard that sim city playing in the background, and at first I was like "Hey, this sounds oddly familiar." It took several seconds after that to realize where it came from. Good times tho :p
Ah the good old days of eating my dinner at the pc.Great vid
You've also got a Havit Magic Eagle keyboard! I've never seen anybody else the same keyboard as me!
That pc is better that my personal one
XxAdyxX98 lucky you, my PC broke, 600$ 7 years ago

That's an oof
that SimCity music tho
Cameron Hnatkowicz ikr :D
You can have a like for this - purely for the fact you cleaned out the PC case (and CPU cooler!) with a pressure washer!
Never in my entire life have I seen anyone clean a PC like that!
Your Videos are just awesome man!!!!!!!!!
I hope you will receive the fame, which you deserve
Sim City 3000 was amazing. When I was playing this game, my setup was probably quite similar to what this pc has
That's literally my "gaming" PC now but I threw a R7 240 2GB in there and some extra RAM XD
Certified classic right here
Brilliant video, loved the jazz too. 👌
Your methodology is priceless 1:40 XD
Nice Simcity 3000 themes.
This man is literally using a wii guitar hero dynamic mic, a havit 15€ gaming keyboard and a 2 € pc, and is more successful on yt than i could ever dream to be
Watching you booting up the PC is like speeding up a Sims game.
I actually have a similar system.
AMD Semperon 3200+ @ 1.8 GHz, 3gb of RAM,
Win 7 and an onboard Geforce 6150 le.
Crysis averaged 5-20 fps on low.
Which is pretty good considering it was clogged with dust and smoke build up.
During the entire build and os install timelapse, I was reminded of SIMS4 complete with a SIM having dinner. :P
Nice Sim City 2000 soundtrack
and this is better than 99% of the "Gaming" Laptops...
Niko 02 02 true.....

0:53 "if you could buy tetanus" :D
Fast forward to 2020-2022 with a certain pandemic... at least you didn't "buy Coronavirus"!
you should get a nice Athlon II X4 and toss in that. Fun fact - that onboard nVidia graphics is an indicator that, 9 chances out of 10, there is an nForce chipset on it, and with the nVidia Performance software, you can actually OVERCLOCK the cpu on it, and AM2 will use AM3 chips. give it 8gb of ram and a decent $40 gpu, and you can make a fun lil potato. i have an eMachine (Acer, really) of a similar vintage, except its missing it's PCI slots, and two less DIMMS, and im overclocking an Athlon II X3 460 from 3.4 to 3.7ghz under Windows 10 (i use it as a workstation with 8gb DDR3 and a Geforce 645 GTX, an OEM card made for Dell/Alienware builds)
It's likely that motherboard would take an Athlon X2 of some sort. Possibly an Athlon II. Would be a big upgrade from that pokey single core.
when you are eating on the table..with the music, it just reminds me of speeding up the time when playing sims..
now i need to look at the 2 old pcs i have to look at what they've got under the hood. one is my first ever PC built in 2001 [if memory serves] which is a hand-me-down from my mother that i've had since 2008 and the other is a PC that i got from a yard sale for 5 bucks. no idea when it was built in, if i remember correctly [haven't looked at it in 4 years or so], the windows xp era. i have to look at both to see what i'm dealing with, the 1st is a family PC, an HP pavilion 504n and i don't know what model of dell the other is.
I'm glad it got clean, but using an air compressor should make it a lot easier
I do want to use that PC case to make a sleeper PC someday...
I’d put thermal pads no mess neat and cool yeah this machine can surely do windows 10-11 easy don’t expect modern gaming though ssd would help
thermal pads aren't nearly as effective
Building a £2 pc in a superdry jacket
superdry isn't even that expensive
2:00 *sprays cords with water*
how to destroy a gaming pc...
just move it around change his position all the time and its done :)
The previous owner tried the same thing but without removing all the parts. Btw your were eating with the wrong hands lmao ;D
Not too shabby lol! I got my core i3 2100 pc for free after somebody didn't sell it, but wanted to throw it out. Win 8.1 installed the quickly after a clean, but drivers took a while to find
That is one dirty record 8:18
IDE drive over sata....lol
I hate using slow older Sata drives as is, the thought of an IDE drives makes me shudder
why do older motherboard always have 5 channel audio but newer ones like mine do not
Most new PCs have 7.1 surround but you have to configure the jacks for the output.
I always love to see this kind of neglected / abused / written-off system restored and given new life. For $2, you definitely found a decent combination of parts.
Also, and I know it's been 4 years since you shot this, but a couple observations:
1) - You said you installed Windows 7 32-bit... That Sempron 3200+ is actually a 64-bit CPU. You would have gotten some extra performance out of it if you had installed the 64-bit version instead. This would also allow for a full increase to more than 3.5GB of system RAM down the road.
2) - The Geforce 6100 GPU that's integrated into that motherboard is actually one of the better ones from that generation, but it does use system RAM. Going higher than 2GB total RAM would likely provide extra breathing room for the OS and GPU... but I understand why you stuck with 2GB, since this is a £2 computer. That said, the GPU is quite well matched with that CPU.
2.5) - You mentioned that during HL2, the CPU was pegged at 100% but the GPU was fine. I suspect if you had installed the 64-bit version of Windows 7, the CPU would have stepped up some in performance and come more in line with the GPU.
3) - Linux Lite would be another excellent option for this system. I've installed it on older/slower CPUs than this one, and it remains snappy, even on an old single-core Core Solo T1350 at 1.86GHz and 1GB of RAM...
Other than that, nice video!
1:35 I thought he was gonna frikin sniper the pc
Turns out it was just water :(
with 8 pound upgrade you might get that pc useable even with games like csgo ;) (tip try to get athlon 64 x2 5000+/5200+ and a cheap lowpower dx11 supportlevel card) might even be fairly good pc for low 720p online gaming mainly league of legends , csgo , paladins , etc etc
Henry Kakkuri: I have something very similar in mind to you already :D
That powerwashing lol if it weren't a 11 year old prebuilt I'd be cringing.
If anyone needs to get dust or other gunk off of a case I find CRC QD Contact Cleaner works great and it's safe on plastic, the stuff is some sort of petroleum product and alcohol, so it is highly flammable, it won't kill you but it's best used in a ventilated area. IDK if CRC products are sold outside of North America but there should be some equivalent in a well stocked hardware store or on Amazon.
I should note: do NOT mistake CRC Brakleen for QD Contact Cleaner, especially the chlorinated variant as both products come in similar cans. Brakleen is not plastic safe, not safe to breathe and is well known to kill bugs instantly on contact.
That music from Sim City 3000 :D
EDIT : THOSE musics from Sim City 3000 ! Good choice mate :)
I've actually gotten so many expensive parts cause they where so dirty they didn't work. My main pc's motherboard is a gigabyte 1155 v2 overclockable with sli for 10 bucks.
8:25 Someone could use a carbon fibre brush.
Subbed anyway. ;)
PileOfEmptyTapes ;).
Thank you from saving this stuff from landfills
@budgetbuilds your vids are so funny not joking
please just do more videos of hardware gore. lynn, new idea for a youtube channel.
I really appreciate the use of Simcity music.
I have two xp computers and by experience, i know the specs are for xp!
Oh my lord i have that old pc upstairs
This video is very satisfying to watch for some reason. Especially the part where he cleaned the PC and rebuilt it.
Do yoy really love SimCity music?
Expecting the powerwasher after he said I'll you need to clean the mobo is a hand towel , a brush and a power washer

£2 hey? LIES! Because you didn't take into account the pressure washer 😅😂
That's bloody bonkers. "The front I/O USB didn't work"... you don't say? Maybe a pressure washer had something to do with that 😆
You did great with that, nice one. And around 8:22 That wouldn't be anything to do with C&C Generals would it? GLA 😛

Can't get any more English than installing Windows while eating bangers and mash.
Whats that big grey part on one side of the computer with the green things that you didn't touch at all?
That pc you bought is the exact same as my pc
Great video as always.Just set up my xp box again. Plays Half Life great.
Retro Tech 100: Always good to hear, this PC can handle all GoldSrc games fine... not too shabby for £2.
XD
I'm actually watching this from a very similar system that a friend just gave me, Sempron 3100+ OC'd to 2.25GHz, 2GB DDR400, Radeon 9550 (Yes that's AGP)... Video playback isn't great although it is serviceable at 360p with the h264ify extension on, although the audio is pretty choppy for some reason
i have the same processor in a pc that i found in the trash, a lot of programs when i tried to install them saids something about that my processor isn't compatible with SSE2 or something like that, what can i do?
it happens for example when i try to instal opera or firefox :/
i'm sorry about my english :'v

Yeah if you consider Twin Atlantic relaxing 😂😂😂
Aren't you afraid of mafia controlling the landfill and the recycling facility? We can only freely collect trash in capital cities, here in Russia, but if you go into the country, all the dumpsters are already assigned to some local criminals.
Yet, i've resurreted my uncle's pc from 2005 and still works fine!
7:44 the PC is flashing red
Only £2 for full setup?
For the case only in my area, there is no way I can get it for below $5. For $5, the case would be no PSU and bonus scratch all over, not in the pristine condition.
This computer plays Project Zomboid well, my modern-ish laptop plays it like a stuttering simulator
I feel like I am plaYING SIM CITY 3000
The songs remind me of The Sims 3
it probably runs crysis
I keep 5 grand cash in my pocket anyway so ill just get myself a 3090 ,11900k pc
I'm pretty sure that GeForce 6150LE was far more a bottleneck than even that humble Sempron CPU that was in this system. I had a 3400+ with a nforce 4 motherboard and it was a complete wash in games. I Upgraded that system to a dual core 4200+ and everything ran pretty much exactly the same until I got a PCIe GPU for it.
Just got one pc like this for 0$ from a local store, all i needed was a cheap noname PSU to power amd 5350 with msi AM1l motherboard so the nice store owner gave me an entire old pc. I took some time to clean everything and it is working good with 1,5GB ddr2.
i think you got the names a bit confused there. an am1 motherboard uses ddr3 ram (am1 actually came after am3+, it's a naming thing)
