you just convinced me to remove my muffler from the crackles, I've been running it with out a muffler for the past 2 months and I get some pops but no where as clear as that
It can suck depending on what is wrong. I did an entire engine and transmission rebuild myself for $5k with all the super important parts being OEM. Its a fairly easy engine to work on once you get the hang of it. I do all the work myself so its waaaaay cheaper than a shop. The common issues with this motor (the n62) are the vavle cover gaskets leaking overtime, the alternator bracket gasket leaking, the plastic radiator parts breaking, coolant expansion tank exploding (i have had this happen 3 times before the rebuild in a matter of 2 months) i personally never ran across any of those issues minus the expansion tank so its been a good experience. Its a rewarding engine, not the faster car i have own but its got some go for sure
Smoke alone does not mean much with the N62 as the engine is not that easy to diagnose. The smoke may be stems seals but it can be also someting minor as just the PCV membrane gone bad. And there are two of them on each block (easily accessible). But there are more things that behave like seals but it isn't them.
@@JohnLetra I have a question so I have a muffler delete on my car and I got an aftermarket exhaust welded on to the rest of my stock pipe so I was wondering if I cut off my resonator and clamped on a 2.5 inch straight pipe would that make any difference in the sound of my car like make it louder or what would that do?
@@jonesvaughn8946 yes definitely it gonna make the car louder sound better too i would recommend get a 3 inch pipe instead of a 2.5 and have it welded on don’t use clamp some time noise can escape and make Your exhaust rattling when u at idle and u gonna have a exhaust leak might cost check engine light to come on
@@JohnLetra also just wondering what's the difference in using a 3 inch pipe vs a 2.5 inch pipe and I was just going to have it clamped on there until I get paid again and can get to a shop?

Was it both resonators or just 1
I agree
so just 1 resonator
Bro i have a lot of drone i have muffler delete only on 2007 BMW 550i what have you done to fix drone.. my muffler was only thing deleted thanks
Yeah mines the same drone at certain cruising rpms, only way to get rid of the drone put the muffler back on or get a aftermarket muffler
Did you pass smog? currently stage 1 dinan with muffler delete, looking to delete the same resonator as you
Yes i did without any problems
Do you know what size the piping is after the first set of resonators? Right before the merge into the second resonator box?
2.5 I believe
Mind if I ask how much? Sounds great!
I think i paid 180$ total pipe and tip
@@JohnLetra thanks for replying 👍
@@JohnLetracould you add a second exit with also dual tips for a total of quad?

Damn I’m so jealous you got an LSD on yours. What’d you do to get it like that? Cuz I know they only come with an open differential
I bought it used like that
@@JohnLetra You’re lucky bro, now you can send it sideways without one wheel spinning and now both rear wheels
@@rich_forever9485 😀
What motor is this?
It is a 4.8L V8. Its the N62
Is this straight pipe from cats
Yea
did you your fuel economy go down a lot?
Not alot
More like up cause likes to rev more
How is maintenance and parts cost

Which from manufacturer is the exhaust?
It’s literally a pipe welded on. It’s custom. This is not a Camaro. Good luck finding bolt-on kits from brands for e60s
Check Engine Light After This Setup?
Nope still pass smog fine
Your good if it’s catback
valve stem seals are due bro.

That's not oil smoke! Bro
Is there a lot of drone?
no bro u can bearly hear anything inside

рычит как злая киса
Which resonator did u delete
Middle one there is only one
How much was it?
Total 350$
Sounds so bad 😖 just completely straight pipe it all the way through. no cats, no resonators, no mufflers
