this is totally awesome. I'm 14 and I've been dancing for 10 years....I've been on pointe for two years. In the next few years i wanna look like those girls :)
i love how they are all doing the same choreography, but they all look slightly different, and not because any of them are more or less advanced than the others, just because they are placing thier own personal spin or touch on the movement, making it thier own. its so fantastic and interesting to watch.
@gal3iiii you can always go back to ballet! my aunt is 40 and she took ballet when she was in her teens, but she quit, and now she's back at it! i'm nearly 14 and i'm starting now for the first time! it's never too late! good luck dancing!
They go so fast... this was my problem when I was going to school for dance, I couldn't get my mind around a dance like this where it's so quick. I could choreograph one, but couldn't remember any of it. Later when I was teaching I even had to get my students to remind me the steps I had written the week before for them. I gave up eventually but I wanna give it another shot.
i really want to dance there but that means i have to start dancing again although its only been a year and two years off point shoes boy did i forget how they felt but i been dancing since i was 4 and its kinda the only thing im really good at because thats the only thing i did
i want to be a professional jazz dancer and do broadway ive gotten scholoships for them too.. but i want to go to melbourne school of dance for musical theather in aussie but it says i need 2 years of ballet.. is it too late to start ballet classes if im 15??
@romanz2000 I'm not an expert, but I'm 18 and I started ballet in July 2010. I don't train with a professional company, however. I've been told that in order to dance like "these beautiful ladies" I'd have to train 3-6 hours a week (depending), which could get you en pointe in about 2 years. It's sooo difficult to find studios that will teach pointe to girls 18+, though! But I'm determined to fulfil my childhood dream, so in my opinion, anything is possible if you work hard enough!
well it's a lot easier if you don't have a tummy u know? but even though, their are still plus sized ballerinas, but you can see that their weight is in their way on becoming more talented.
actually it's more dangerous as you become too stick thin. Your body doesn't get the nourishment it needs to give you the endurance and stamina needed for pointe work. I agree that being overweight is a huge disadvantage and dangerous, but it's not uncommon to have size 3/4 dancers who are really good at what they do. They may not look as good in a tutu, but it doesn't take away from their talent
@bremandancer Hi me and us well two of us are actullay trying to complete till we get our toe shoes we are streching and achiveing all it takes is practica and here is the answer to your question they are wearing toe shoes there is a square at the toe helping them get to the tip of their toe but it's not just the shoes its there ankles and leg mucles
@dancersweets11 Weight, while an issue in some ballet companies, is usually not one because the dancers are HEALTHY! However, weight only becomes an issue when the daner is not staying healthy! And there is no weight "rule" of 120 pounds. I know plenty of professional ballet dancers who exceed that weight. Learn something before you preach!
it was far from perfect. i thought they where rehearsing. the third girl was the best . the only thing that makes it look good is the fact that the choregraphy is brilliant modern yet in the balenchine style that and the body types of the dancers .
you seem reallu presomptuous to say that you're better tahn her ... their choreography is not perfect i agree , but it's a quite high level ... everybody can not do the same ...
These dancers aren't stick-thin. Years ago I saw a corps dancer in the NYCB Nutcracker who looked positively emaciated. In fact, it looked as if she was having trouble not falling off point. She was a Marzipan Shepherdess, not a big role, but she looked sick up there. Starvation is NOT beautiful, but these girls don't look anorexic to me. They have good healthy muscles.
well, what;s even more horrible is realising your dreams are not your dreams anymore!! people change, priorities change. maybe looking pretty in a pink tutu under the spotlight is your dream when you're 15, but when you're 20 or 25, things change, you seek fullfilment from other sources.
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L ! OMG, these dancers are GREAT! One day I'll dance like they do ;P
These dancers are amazing. They have a great center and are really graceful. :)
Wonderful!
A very light and happy coreography...
Different, and very well presented!
this is totally awesome. I'm 14 and I've been dancing for 10 years....I've been on pointe for two years. In the next few years i wanna look like those girls :)
This is very well done... the lighting contributes to the mood of the piece which is nice. Work en pointe is nice too! More, more!
i absolutely adore the choreography + the dancers are just beautiful. they have such great stamina :)
i love how they are all doing the same choreography, but they all look slightly different, and not because any of them are more or less advanced than the others, just because they are placing thier own personal spin or touch on the movement, making it thier own. its so fantastic and interesting to watch.
very good dancers!! 8 minutes! it's a long time... you are amazing!
Lovely, I even love the setting and the dim lighting :)
@gal3iiii you can always go back to ballet! my aunt is 40 and she took ballet when she was in her teens, but she quit, and now she's back at it! i'm nearly 14 and i'm starting now for the first time! it's never too late! good luck dancing!

this has to be a rehearsal.
@ickyvic Reaaallly?! when did you start pointe?
i want to be a professional jazz dancer and do broadway ive gotten scholoships for them too.. but i want to go to melbourne school of dance for musical theather in aussie but it says i need 2 years of ballet.. is it too late to start ballet classes if im 15??
does anyone know the name of the music? i wish i could get it so bad! thnx :))
This is extremely difficult choreography, and the dancers are excellent. I'd like to see you try - instead of criticizing them.
wow you can tell they were tired by the end of the video but they still kept pushing on w/o a mistake.
nice job!
@romanz2000

How do they memorize so many steps. It's a long dance.
kiedy na nie patrze widze male robaczki wypuszczone na wolnosc ;p ale tancza pieknie trzeba przyznac :)

@Anna9625 Never. Vanessa Sah started in collage and shes a professional dancer. Keep holding on to your dream!
I was replying to the critical person who claimed they weren't good but thanks for the cheeky response..
my pointe will never be that good
who is doing the cello?
what music is this?
wow..xfette!
@livelovelearn100 we get in trouble if our pointe shoes make sounds
My sisters in this

Absolutely not!!!! I'm 13 (almost 14) and I'm just starting in a couple weeks and have the same dream as you :)
