  • Vernon was a very underrated player. He will be remember for his altercations with fans and opposing players but he was actually very skilled. The nickname Mad Max is a perfect because he had a very short fuse.

However you did leave out the single greatest play of his entire career -- hitting the late 4Q three-pointer to close out the Knicks in the Finals (assist from Hakeem). I jumped so high my head put a dent in my friend's ceiling. He hit a lot of game-winners, but that was #1.

    The younger generation know nothing about this no holds barred style of basketball. The 1980’s & 90’s were extremely physical and NBA players back then actually defended and had genuine rivalries. Players weren’t all buddy, buddy like today’s players. When we say today’s basketball players are soft, this is a perfect example of what my generation is talking about. I love 1980’s and 90’s NBA basketball!!!

    It's funny that people actually believes that MJ was scared of Maxwell stories.. MJ wasn't afraid of nobody like even off court.     Vernon Maxwell is talking a lot of crap about Houston beating Chicago had MJ played in both finals:
    1. One thing is calling for the Devil , seing him come is an entirely different deal.
    2. The more MJ was challenged or taunted the better he played, had Michael been in both of those finals the result would have been the same, The Bulls with two more rings.
