It was such a damn shame when he died. I am lucky enough to have a signed copy of 'Against A Dark Background'.
Thank you for posting this. 'Excession' is my favourite culture novel. My first introduction into Banks' universe was 'The Player of Games' and I was instantly hooked.
Against a Dark Background is my fav really. I still think about Sharrow and her friends 😢..and yes a damn shame
