Heard this gorgeous song last night on Bones too and just HAD to come up and find it so I could here it again. Such a great song and I loved how they used it last night.
Saw them a few years ago in New Hampshire, without Tim, but with George, and the rest. Sounded very good doing this song. George really had an influence in the sound of this group, no doubt, from the very beginning, opposite Richie on several songs. Male soprano, I would think, his vocal role. Damned good drummer, as well, extremely talented guy.
one of my favorite songs of all time, from a great album. I think I wore out the grooves on that record--------------you could be having the worst day ever -----------just play some Poco and everything will be right with the world!!!!!
reading the comments you young guys make about my favourite band really makes my day. Checkout Poco's wealth of music over the years (Crazy Eyes or Inamorita are good starting points).
Poco was a great band. I'm happy to have held onto this album. I didn't know very much about Poco before Tim Schmit came along, but he certainly didn't hurt them by his appearance, afterward going to the Eagles, coincidentally replacing the same bassist he replaced in Poco, Randy Meisner.
According to their website George is playing again however he does not have full use of his affected arm. I happened to be at that show in Springfield Mass. It was quite an upsetting moment for all the Poco fans in attendance, not to mention certainly the band!
I have most of the Poco albums from the early days and several from late 70s and early 80s. Phenomenal band in various stages. I saw them twice in the early 70s an saw the Eagles in1972 or 73. Both great bands but I give the edge to Poco. Better harmonies and instrumentation, especially with Rusty Young. I've got a CD of their performance in 2005 in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium and they sounded great still! Rusty Young's singing has taken over for the loss of Tim B. Schmidt.
Correction to earlier post. the DVD was recorded at the Belcourt Theater in Nashville in 2004 but I think was released in 2005. Does anyone know if George has come back and been able to play drums and sing again?
My girlfriend and I are going down some rough roads right now and she just set this song to her myspace profile... I think I should try to hang on to her!
Actually the sound is pretty bad. They are playing and singing very well (I love this song) but the audio and picture quality of this video are pretty awful.
fuck bones, this song was good before that show was even a glimmer. and yeah, head over heels is a GREAT album. and that's coming from a seventeen year old, yeah?
obviously this fella up here keeps picturing brokeback mountain everytime he hears this..thats why he calls it gay think its all in your own head genius

panhead58ful the guy beside Timothy B. Schmit is the drummer George Grantham :-) And besides that: what an awesome live-performance !!!!!!
According to their website George is playing again however he does not have full use of his affected arm. I happened to be at that show in Springfield Mass. It was quite an upsetting moment for all the Poco fans in attendance, not to mention certainly the band!
Great song! Poco was never the same when Tim left...
