    Sad but I'm modelling on Z-gauge scale (1:220) so many of your wonderful ideas for dioramas are just too big! On the other hand many of your lovingly created details cannot be reproduced, they would be too tiny!
    But I love your skills, ingenuity and dedication to all the details. It's just fun watching your tutorials, and always I take home good ideas that I can realize even in small size! Thank you for the good job you are sharing with your followers. I'm happy to be one of them!

    I find these dioramas to be so charming. i get nostalgia from when i was just a kid reading the old “I Spy” picture books, which all used this style of miniature scenery. It's quite a euphoric feeling actually.

    G'day Luke, As an Aussie who grew up in the bush and has been living in the UK for 15 years, you have done 2 things.
    1. You have inspired me to use your techniques to build the model farm as a gift for the oldies, and
    2. You made me homesick!
    All the best mate!

    I've done the same corrugation technique by investing in a (much cheaper) sheet of Evergreen corrugated siding and cutting off my own "mold" and "embosser". Works fine. Just in case some readers are shy of investing in this commercial product.
    Very nice work as always, Luke.

    For weathering the wood, you could also do this. Get a bucket, or a cup, fill it with vinigar, then put steel wool in the bottom. Leave it over night, then just dip the wood structure in the bucket and leave it for a couple minutes, and it will turn out looking weathered.

    Another really excellent project, and video. I am impressed by how well you compress information, and adding in all the pips and links.. well, I know that takes time. Really nice.
    I love the acid etching of the foil for the corrugated roof. You can't get more realistic weathering than that. :) The foil crimping tool is pretty cool. But I shuddered at the fragility of the panels. It's hard to argue with the results though.
    As a funny aside, I really like your black cutting mat for a background. I might steal that if you won't take offense. ;) I've been thinking a lot more about my bench background and really need to clean it up visually. I've been thinking of white, but black is much closer to my heart. *grin*
    Nice weathering on the tractor as well. You didn't mention it, but I noticed. It really added a lot to the scene.
    Overall fantastic scene and content delivery. I always look forward to your videos.

    • @BoulderCreekRailroad
      @BoulderCreekRailroad  8 лет назад +10

      +Terranscapes Thanks Mike, the foil is obviously very fragile but for the type of scenery I'm building which hardly ever gets touched once it's finished it's ok, but if you used this on a gaming board I'm sure it would get destroyed very quickly.
      I use a couple of different cutting mats, I really like black as you said it provides a nice clean background but I also like the light blue because sometimes the black clashes with other dark details.
      It's funny that you noticed the tractor! It was your comment on the last scenery video about adding a little weathering to the tractor that made me ensure I did it for this video... That one was for you ;-)
      Thanks for giving such great feedback as well, you're one in particular I like to watch and I always take your feedback on board.
      Cheers
      Luke.

    Wow! What more can I say than what has already been said by everyone else? Fantastic job, mate!
    Ever do any modeling in N scale? HO is definitely a nice balance between size and detail, but N holds a special place in my heart due to the cramped spaces that I have always lived in. I love the realism and life you bring to your models, but I nearly had a heart attack at the thought of doing those corrugated sheets in N scale size! If you have any kind of tips or tricks for going even smaller, I would love to see some videos with your thoughts.
    At any rate, first rate video as always! (I showed my wife some of your vids, and she loves how you often drag the rest of your family into them as well - I think she was smiling because I often drag my family into my hobbies also.) I'm new to your videos, but glad I subscribed. I look forward to watching the rest, and seeing what new ones you come up with. Thanks, and keep up the fantastic work! Cheers!

    • @BoulderCreekRailroad
      @BoulderCreekRailroad  8 лет назад

      +El Chick thanks again for a fantastic comment. My wife and especially my daughter really enjoy getting involved, making models is a bit of an introvert activity and hard to get others involved at times... especially due to the fact I'm a bit of a perfectionist so doing videos and getting them to help me and get involved is good.
      I built a small N scale layout but its been dismantled for a while now, I still have the buildings and trains though so some N scale videos are not out of the question. I still have a list of HO scale videos in the works at the moment but once my current layout gets finished I'll try to include some N scale as well.
      I hope you continue to enjoy the videos, I'm on holiday at the moment but once I'm back I'll be posting a couple of new videos, should be home in one more week.
      Cheers
      Luke

      +davie maclean Got a corrugated iron maker from Brunel. No one seems to do one this side of the planet. Glad I did, it works great and my cocktail stick jig, while still a good idea, would have been a good bit over scale for OO. Cheers, Davie

      Kudos for the video content! Sorry for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you tried - *WoodBlueprints. Com* It is a great one of a kind guide for building better sheds and woodworking without the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my cousin finally got astronomical success with it.?

    Luke! Love your videos man! You have a great narrating voice. Also, the amount of detail you put into your explantations and sceneries is very admiring! I don't participate in creating model railroads or making small sceneries but I find attention to fine details very fascinating and soothing to watch. Keep it up man!
