I sell mainly clothes, but I came across a BUNCH of romance novels a while ago. I finally got around to sorting and listing. I had 45 new listings up in two days! And I probably would have had them all done in one had my husband not decided he needed to fix my computer right in the middle of me listing. I now see how you get some much done and I'm jealous!
Booklisting is so quick compared to clothing BUT clothing sells faster, since i swapped to books (mainly) my sales have dropped to 50% but my listings are sooooooooo easy. Not sure what to do.
You are such a hoot. I could watch you all day long! Hahaha. I seriously am SO impressed that you got all of that done as fast as you did. I was breathing hard from watching you get up and down off that floor, to the pile, to the wall, back to the floor. Ohmigosh! I dont know how you do it, woman! Good luck with your listing of all that stuff. At least you can be on your butt when you do that part! Will look forward to seeing you again on Monday!
Shutting down is difficult to watch. I was an entertainer for almost 50 years and i had to quit. My wife was an IT and had a complete burn out. Sleeping is very peaceful now.
I thrifted/reselled back in the '90's. I can't imagine the competition now. And. I mainly stuck to books and magazines. Lots of fun, but little profits.
I make some great profits from my books and book bundles. There is still lots of money in reselling clothes and other items but you have to be prepared to grind. It’s not an easy job.
Love your motivation, especially for getting things done that you don’t want to do! You might try using bed risers for your book table to raise the height. You can also use them on top of the table with another shooting surface on it as well. You might consider using a monopod to hold your phone when shooting. Helps avoid neck and back pain, and holds the camera still.
Hi Mel! I repurposed an old bookshelf and turned it into a photo station. I removed 1 shelf and connected it to the edge of 1 shelf to have a wider surface. I never have to leave 1 spot or bend over. I sent you a pic on your facebook page but then realized you have not been active on there. But, yeah, my photo station is a bit of Mcgyver project but it does the job. Saved my back and my knees.
Glad to see you are churning and burning that clothing Mel .... get it gone physically and mentally and make room for things you do wanna sell. Thanks for sharing !!
Your energy is definitly not the same when working with the clothes. That's when you know it's not right for you! On a different note, I was really hoping for the discovery of a few golf balls in the video today! :D :D
Ha ha, I found about 8 afterwards - some of them even bounced in those tubs at the bottom of my shelves LOL I was dreading doing those clothes and hated every moment of it lol
I appreciated this video. I was selling personal care and beauty products. Took forever to list since they all needed so much info. When I decided to go back to clothes I was so happy not to ever sell the pc and beauty items again. Thanks to Chris's episode on his photo booth..it's now easier and faster then the make-up. I laughed when you said ' I never have to sell clothes again'...
You crack me up. I so hate taking pictures of clothes too, that's why I don't do them often. I have to say it's fun to watch someone else living that struggle. Up and down, up and down, so hard on my old body for sure. Good idea on special made table, your back will thank you in a few years.
I’m getting ready to stop selling clothes myself. I sell mostly NWT but if they are returned the tags are gone and then I end up with used. I’ve never had 1 return on any other item - only clothing. Sick of it! 😀
I enjoy your videos so much. Not only do I learn a lot but you are so funny also. BTW. Never say never because we almost always end up eating out words
I fixed the stooping over to take photo's, I got a piece of plywood and put some big wheels on it now it's the right height I'm not leaning over and I can roll my table around. I don't have my table secured to the plywood so I can change things out quick if I need it for something else. I did a bunch of law books the other day, the comps were great but boring, I thought I'd never get done with them. Be careful saying you'll never have to do them again, you'll walk past something great and do it to yourself all over again. I stopped doing clothing that's why I have a pile also.
@@backfromburnout I enjoy listing media as well. DVDs and CDS can be a challenge as many have little value. Still I've sold individual CDS for as much as $80 and DVDs for $130. You just have to develop a sense of what to look for. I've sold bundles too. The challenge with bundles in Canada is of course our ridiculous shipping rates Canada post charges. Still I love media too much to give it up. 🙂
Yes it really is. Vintage clothing is very hot at the moment though and sells well. If you can find it, it's a great seller. It's harder to find where I live - especially the vintage tees
Loved the video. I am getting ready to list jeans but changed my mind and I might cut them all up and make a nice blanket. LOL I HATE SELLING CLOTHES TOO! I AM DONE WITH CLOTHES ALSO!!!! My jeans only cost $2.99 each (so great for material for a blanket).
Your other video said you were thinking about shifting back to clothes lol. I’m guessing you have your answer. Lol. It’s a lot of work. And way more physical. I’ve been enjoying your recent videos!
For a minute there, I thought you was going to do a spin and end up in that Wonder Woman outfit 🤣🤣 Glad you got the last of the dribs and drabs of clothing sorted out, onwards and upwards now! Another great video Mel. I bet that was hell to do but you did it!!! Glad it is done and dusted now and you can concentrate on listing more and more books. Wonder woman does it again lol xxxx.
Very nice Mel... I couldnt do clothes either. I am niched into vinyl stickers, labels, and an occasional closeout from Costco :) I love stickers the most! (Joe in Arkansas)

I like selling shoes better than clothes but shoes are getting expensive to source. I am so ready for spring yard sales!

Mel big thumbs up for leaving clothes for good! 👍 It's obvious you much prefer books and your good at that niche. Media is so much easier and quicker.

I just bought 3 books to sell lol lets see if it works!
Fingers crossed, some books sell faster than others so hopefully you have some quick flips!
Do you print out every sold order so you can see the SKU number for shipping?
No I just carry the phone with me while I am picking orders and the SKU is shown right there in the sold listing so it's easy to see. This video kinda shows me picking but because I was using the phone to film I was looking at the desktop instead.

@@backfromburnout I have seen people walking around their shelves with a bundle of printed orders, checking and picking each one. Good tip.
How can we find your eBay store?
Thank you! I appreciate you watching! I don't have the store publicly linked as it messes with my traffic metrics but it's pretty easy to find as I share everything on here I buy and sell :)
