Mel, there's a young kid that sell just golf balls. They live next to a golf course but he also Wade's into ponds and creeks to fetch them. Forget his channels name. He's only young and his dad helps him..

Crazy hectic days like that are sometimes fun for me just because they don't happen all the time for me and it makes me appreciate the days when everything goes right.
Yes that is so true! And they also make you take note of where the bottlenecks are in your own business to improve on. Last week was the hardest I've had this year and I think it was due to finding that new routine again with school going back. I'm going to have to really tighten up my schedule again to get everything I need to do in a day done.

OMGosh, isn’t that the truth! I’m SO disorganised. Don’t know how you manage to get in your shed before school even starts, Mel. Kudos to you. I’ve just started my book hustle and it’s no easy feat. My op shops wanted $3 per novel yesterday. I need to find more suppliers and learn to speed list. 🤣 I don’t know how you manage to list all the books so fast to make a decent living. Yeah this week was hard and my routine felt a little out of whack. I’m going to have to sit down and have a good look at my schedule for this week and juggle a few things. Mornings are hard for me as I’m not naturally a morning person.
It’s hard when they want $3 a novel. If they’re charging that much look more at the non fiction and see what you can get.
I bought over 100 westerns yesterday for $20. Lots of reading material for me....and then I'll lot them up on ebay! 🙂

Yes I did make a bible video quite a long time ago. Bibles sell for great money - especially if you find a leather one and the really old ones sell well. Do a search on sold bibles and you will be very surprised. I have sold bibles for over $200 and I always look for them. Children's illustrated bibles also sell well. Another hustle hustle hustle day in the life of Mel. First day back at school is always frantic. Picking and packing is another thing that you will have to have a BANK of.
Listing in the morning and packing in advance for the post office run after school run. Another great video. Cant wait to see the bleached bag of balls get sold hee hee. BTW Did you find them all?

Do you use the extra promotion line? Costs about $2.70 just under the listing title?
sticky price labels on those small paper books, need to sort that before the glues set harder. Hairdryer? ... magazines, nah -- i have to throw so many

Hi Mel. Great video as usual. Just be careful when you list the Westerns. You said they were from the 70's but that would be the copyright date or when that story was first printed. Those ones you have there are more modern reprints. You can tell by the cover price.
There are also some authors that are worth lotting up together instead of random lots. Marshall Grover is the most popular I've found but just have a look into it a bit more. You'll still make a bit of money on them as you have already surmised.
I’ll make sure I double check when I photograph them before listing! I only had a quick glance before filming so I could have read that wrong! Thanks for the tip l be sure to confirm! They should be photographed tomorrow I think and ready for listing!

@@backfromburnout hope they offer you some good bargains Mel. Here in Vic I found some staff to not be as nice to you if they think you’re reselling, or they price popular resale items like books high because they assume you’ll pay more. Do you find that? Xx Cathi xx
You might have to take out 3 of them magz, surely with the packaging youll go over the 5k right?
Possibly although the mailers are pretty light weight. I might be able to choose a couple of the thicker magazines to remove which might lower it just slightly
I was about to say the same thing. Take out the thicker ones and keep it well under the correct weight.
I reckon seperate the Beer only ones from the Brewing and Beer ones.

Can you turn off promoted listings to do a markdown sale, I don't want to do both way too big of a cut, but I am not sure if promoted turns off right away, I think if you turn it off it's still going for a month, do you know? thanks
I’m pretty sure you can stop it any time. But if you want to do a 20% off and you have promoted set to say 5% you could still do a sale but maybe make it 15% off and then it still equals the same discount value.
I wish my kids didn’t have to go to school so early! Ours have the be at school before 8. 8:05 and they are tardy and have to get a slip. 🤦🏻♀️ I’d get so much more done if I weren’t so tired 😂
When we moved house we moved out of area and we don’t have direct buses here now. My daughter would need 3 busses to get to a school 10mins away. Crazy. But I miss them catching the bus as it definitely is time consuming to do all the drop offs and pick ups with kids at different schools.

Yes if they sell for what I list them for that’s potentially the amount I could make in sales. But yes, they have to sell to make that actual profit so fingers crossed 🤞

Some of them here don't charge for them but some do.

I can't actually remember if I had to input my ABN number but if you don't have one you should get one.
