F150 Lightning doesn’t have remote start just climate control. How do you disable the exterior lights so it won’t turn on when you simply open the door to remove a package?
Hi there! We actually covered what the FordPass app does for EV’s (lightning and Mach-E) in a more recent video! Feel free to give it a watch! To turn off the exterior lights on a Ford Lightning when you open the door, follow these steps: 1. Access Lighting Settings on the SYNC Screen: • Turn on your vehicle’s power without fully starting the engine. • On the central SYNC touchscreen, navigate to the Settings menu. 2. Select Lighting Options: • Look for Vehicle Settings or Lighting Settings (exact wording may vary by SYNC version). • Tap on Lighting to see the available lighting options. 3. Turn Off ‘Welcome Lighting’ or ‘Approach Detection’: • In the lighting menu, find options like Welcome Lighting or Approach Detection. • Toggle these options off to prevent the exterior lights from automatically turning on when you open the door. 4. Save Settings: • The settings should save automatically, but double-check that the lighting options are set to your preferences. After adjusting these settings, the exterior lights should remain off when you open the door. If you have difficulty finding these options, refer to the owner’s manual, as settings may vary slightly depending on the model year and SYNC version!
On gas engines, when you do remote start, does that turn on pro power onboard? For lightnings, starting the climate control does not, which is annoying. So to use pro power, need to go into the truck and turn on the EV.
Hi there! For gas engines, when you use remote start, the Pro Power Onboard feature does not automatically activate, just like the Lightning. It’s designed to require the truck to be fully turned on manually to access the feature. We agree that this isn't the most convenient! If you’d like to see this feature integrated with remote start or climate control in future updates, we recommend sending feedback directly to Ford through the FordPass app!! The more they hear feedback, the more likely they are to update!
I wish they bring back zone lighting on the app!
Agreed! In my opinion, it’s only a matter of time!
