I love Mary Jane flats! Had a black pair in my 20s and wore all the time and I’ve recently bought another pair at 62 years old and love them just as much… I have very narrow, slim feet and I can’t wear ballet flats or loafers as they don’t stay on! So Mary Jane’s and brogues are the alternative that works for me! I am completely on board with everything else you said though 😉
Any good recommendations for leather Mary Jane flats? I blister easily, so I stick with leather and suede and I personally love Mary Jane flats

I 1000000% agree with every single point you made!!! I read the comments below and some people beat me to it because I was also going to say that the quilted jacket immediately reminded me of a mattress 😂 But also the pattern is too big for a petite and that also makes it look off since small patterns look better on us petites anyway. Ooooh and girl are people really walking around with no pants?!?!?! I didn't even know that was a thing and I hope it dies ASAP - I'm totally with you when it comes to having self respect with what you wear and this is one trend (along with other ones that show too much) that I absolutely can't stand. at all. ever 😤
It's quilted to be warm. Just like the strap on the shoes is to make them useful, which ballet flats are not unless you dont walk or run ever.

Well hello, fellow Washingtonian! South Pierce County/Sumner area here. I totally appreciate your style suggestions and input for us petite gals. I've become more aware of what would look good on my small frame of 5'1' with all the help you've been posting to help us petite ladies out. So appreciated, thank you!! At 55, I've recently cleaned out my closet and shoe racks for more of those classic pieces and have been pleased to find out I already have some of them. I have always struggled with what's in style, and how to put clothes together to look good but I can always find good deals and sales. So it'll take time to replenish my closet but that's the fun of it all...the is hunt on!

I think you need to be skinny and flat chested to look good with a waist coat. And also it is too popularized online it’s almost like a uniform.

I’m 5’ and really appreciate your petite input and suggestions. I do have to admit I purchased a pair of pointy toe Mary Janes and wear with black skinny jeans or cropped jeans and they are so cute! I think they work because of the pointy toe without the little girl vibe. No on the vests, NO on the Birkenstock clogs ( though I love a few of my birkenstock sandals ) I’m busty and the peplum tops are a big no for me…GREAT VIDEO many thanks 💕🫶🏻👏🏻

I only agree with you about the Birkenstocks. They are practical for outdoor walking, but they have really inflexible soles, so they can be dangerous in the workplace and indoors and are often a trip hazard.

I completely agree on the vest but, for a different reason. I don't go for anything that I know will be "out" in one season. Trends are fine as long as they have some staying power and I'm certain this time next year the vest will be "so last year " I really don't want someone to think "oh she follows all the trends." I would much rather be naturally stylish which is something I am working towards.

I agree with you on these. I do wear neutral tights to match my skirt/dress and knee-high boots in winter, like brown, taupe, etc., but brightly colored tights never look elegant. There is a trend toward high-vamp shoes, as well as high foot straps, these are always unflattering, trendy or not. As for denim skirts, denim is so uncomfortable, it defeats the point of wearing a skirt at all. I hate wearing denim, and only wear jeans if the activity really requires it. But, I don’t have to do much brush clearing, fortunately! “Old Money” and Quiet Luxury” are just new names for what we used to call good taste. I always aimed for this simple, elegant look, wearing only the best materials, classic styles and quiet taste. It’s nothing new to women of my generation, age 63. But, I welcome this way of dressing as trends, because as a result, more people are trying to dress better and less super-casually, which has just gone way too far these days.
I love my midi denim skirt with my knee high boots 😂 however I do agree it's totally impractical for running around after boisterous toddlers. My children are all grown now. I agree with everything. I only wore red tights at a christmas photo shooting once, with a leather skirt and red sweater. I am not buying any of these neither. I love ballet flats too but without the strap.

The Birkenstock clogs were popular when I was in middle school in 2007/2008. We all had them 😅😂 so I have looked back 10 years later and wondered already… except I have considered repurchasing for nostalgia 😝

I love Mary Jane shoes. I could have a million of them. THE JACKETS ARE QUILTED FOR WARMTH. A jacket that doesn't have either quilting, or a quilted lining is simply useless unless you live in a very warm climate. Im not getting that silly denim skirt. Why? Why do I need that long thing? Im not ditching my Birkenstocks either. NEVER!! And I think the strap makes them USEFUL. I hate regular flats because they look too flimsy, and they fall off. Try running in soft ballet flats, they will fly right off your foot. Actually I only agree with one item. But I like hearing what other people have too say.

I almost choked…you are a mom of two? No one would ever guess. No peplum tops, no metallic boots, and no all leather outfits. I prefer classy over trendy anyway. My niece is a senior in high school and is 5’ and wears a 00 petite. I want to buy her classy, fashionable clothes…where would you suggest I start?

My wife and I say you would look like complete elegance with an angled Bob cut. Also, vests look best on flat-chested women. My wife would never wear that 🙂
