ALL petite women can wear midi or maxi dresses. However, I admit it takes a lot of searching and trying on many dresses until you find just the right one. My advice is to keep the dress simple, not too voluminous, a light airy fabric with flow, and always define the waistline. It's such a romantic, feminine look that it's a shame to discard it. Don't forget-in the past all women wore long dresses, all the time. Short skirts have only been in fashion these last hundred years. It's simply a matter of learning what kind of long dress works for you.
Yeah you are telling just right because I can wear long shirts and a wide leg pants because it suits me because of my body shape. Besides, height your body shape matters a lot in your dress styling. There are many tall girls on to which wide leg pants don't suit because of their body shape
As a petite, I’ve learned to alter clothes like a pro! Honestly I could even shop in the little girls for certain things (XXL) and at most add a couple of darts or seams for shape/curves
Wow!!! Good job girlfriend!!! I used to know how to sew years ago and would do the same!! Definitely need to get back at it, it’s such a useful skill to have plus can save lots of money instead of taking it to someone else to alter!

I'm 30 years old, 4' 11" and haven't grown since 5th grade! I totally agree that when I dress better and wear heels, I get more respect in the workplace. Sometimes buying a maxi dress that's set as midi fits just like a regular maxi dress for me. May not work for all petite ladies, but it works for me. So glad I found your channel! Thanks for sharing your tips!
Thank you for posting these videos. All my life I’ve tended toward having a negative view of my height (a fraction over 4’11”). Now at age 42 I’m trying to make peace with it through learning how to look my best. I appreciate your videos giving helpful style tips and showing that being petite can look beautiful.
Heyyy, great video, I agree with most of what you mentioned, except the last bit about wide leg jeans. As long as you wear something well fitted on top I think wide jeans can look very flattering on a petite. I am 5'1 and that is one of my all time go to looks. I believe the trick is to reveal more skin on top and balance your proportions out.
I love boot cut jeans I keep the inseam long and wear them with heels and they just make my short legs look so much longer. This year I bought my first pair of ribcage flare jeans (from AE) and I'm in love!!! They fit perfect and I wear them with platform wedges and my legs look super long!!! I wish all my jeans are like that! I have a long torso and short legs and I'm 5 ft and half an inch. I didn't think I'd like flares but I love it! I'm so glad that they are making ribcage-high rise jeans... finally somethings that fits me right!
Elana Kinda I just commented on this video too and now see your reply here. I have a youtube channel in which I show how you can easily recreate things you see in the shops or how you can quickly alter. Maube you like to check thst out? When you are petit it is great when you can do thst yourself. That is why I started it many many years ago!
I love and wear midiskirts and -dresses a lot! And I am 5.2 and rather small. But I love the look but you must wear a bit of a heel underneath. I think it looks nice( and I am a certified stylist).
Elana Kinda I have a youtube channel where I show how you can easily recreate things you see in the shops or how you can quickly alter them. Just sew you comment thst you used to sew too. I agree, as I am getting closer to my 40s, I am starting to move towards midi dresses also. I am 5’ but with comfortable heels, I feel one can pull off midi. It looks good in professional settings also. Good option to have on the days when you don’t want to wear sheath dresses. I personally feel you would look great in midi and should definitely give it a try.
My tip would be... look at asian fashions. Korean, Japanese etc.. lots of people in Asia are consideted petites by Western standards and the fashions are impeccable. I felt SO awesome when I moved to asia and realized most things fit me! Now asian fashion brands and trends are popular in the west (they usually come a few years after the trends in asia itself) and people say how small the clothes are. Sorry not sorry and welcome to the struggle us petite people have faced in the U.S./europe for decades!
Hi Elana. I'm a petite gal too and I find myself agreeing with a lot of your tips. I do get away with wearing midi length dresses/skirts as long as I make sure it has a high waistline and wearing some sort of heels. Thanks for sharing!
thats awesome! :) I personally don't think they look good on me but I wanna give it another try! finding a petite option or tailoring it for my specific body type :)
Also important to consider are your proportions. I am a petite with a short torso and (relatively) long legs. Midi dresses are fine when hemmed just below the knee, not to the calf. And capri pants have to be fitted, never baggy, and end right below the knee, not the calf, and worn with low vamp flats that dont have an ankle strap. Its about proportion as well as overall height.
@@eileensilverstein5819 Wider calf-length capri pants look very frumpy and aging IMO, no matter what your heighth or weight. And as I've gotten older, more and more of my friends are wearing them. I'm not talking about the longer wide cropped pants which are on trend right now, although personally I'm going to give them a miss as well. I'm talking about what were called pedal pushers when I was about 12, which is the age they are suited for. I've thought about saying something to my friends, but think they would probably be offended. Such a bad look. And can be easily adjusted with a sewing machine in less than 20 minutes.
If you're a petite biggest saving grace is learning how to hem ( skirts dresses jeans) your cloths or go take them into a shop! It makes a huge difference! 3/4 is the golden rule for you short ladies out there (:
I'm 5.2 and Its crazy that I actually have been avoiding everything you mentioned since forever coz they don't look good on me either. This video is too relatable to me!
I agree with all your suggestions. I also find petite tops are too short in the arms and tight in the shoulders. The one item I do buy petite sizes in is longer cardigans. I usually size up one size. This way the cardigan hits at my lower hip rather than way down my leg.
I created this video a few weeks ago before everything that has happened recently, and I just want to say that I'm praying for everyones safety. My content will proceed as normal and I hope this little channel of mine can be a good space for you to come too and inspire you.hope you enjoy!
At 5'1" I've found midi and maxi don't work on me either. I just picked up the Aritzia gray slip dress and had it shorted to right below my knees. The length before just overwhelmed my body. I'm 57 and you're so right about people respecting you more seriously when you're dressed well. Then there comes the day you look in the mirror and see your mom! That's not a kind day. Then you head out shopping. LOL
Im 39 and 5'2 and about 100 lbs I'm often mistaken for being much younger. I shop juniors and kids!! The items often fit me better in arm length ect. You just have to really search for those basics or things that don't look childish. But the items are so much cheaper like outerwear. Macy's has a ton of good stuff though!
Completely agreed with all but one being 5’2 myself, top heavy with relatively short legs! I have a midi dress that looks great on me but only because it is a v-neck and in a petite size which also does cut off at the waist perfectly. Thank you for such an informative video!
I think the juniors section is a goldmine for basics, I also love sneaking a platform ankle boot or sandal under some high waisted bootcut pants and it makes me look 10 feet tall.
I totally agree about the tops. They are always too short and I am only 5’3. I love long fitted tops and flowing pants or shorts that look like a skirt.
This is such great advice and a great series 👏 It's hard to be petite and follow fashion bc all the models and influencers etc aren't typically representative
Exactly! Especially models.. Whats pictured on a model isn't how its going to look like on us. But honestly, now, retailers are starting to use models with different body shapes which I appreciate so much! Even if it still isn't the same shape that we have, its nice to see brands do this.
Good tips. I will try ankle-length pants. I am a petite with an hourglass figure. I don't wear bulky clothes or chunky sweaters because they overwhelm my figure and make me look frumpy, like I'm wearing someone else's clothes. I don't wear long skirts, either. I prefer skirts at the bottom of the knee or shorter. I prefer my clothes to be structured because I have an hour glass figure and that style suits me well. Once I figured out how to dress my figure, I look good in my clothes and I look pulled together. It took me a while to figure that out though. I couldn't figure out why an item of clothing looked so good on a friend, but looked so frumpy on me. Now, I stick to what works for me.
Totally agree! It took me awhile to figure out how to properly dress my frame too. Because whats pictured on the model isn't how its going to look like on other women & I had a hard to accepting that lol. But we should embrace that we all have beautiful and different shapes! :)
I’m 5’2. Bigger on top, inverted triangle. I cannot wear a petite top either. Yes to petite pants or have a good alterations person. I don’t wear any clothing that wears me! I want to wear the clothing. Lol. Anything overwhelming- no. I’m 63 but I still want to be relevant, classic, etc. thank you for your videos!
I am a senior citizen and about 5' 1 ". I do NOT wear mini skirts or dresses at my age. I can understand what you said about maxi and midi length skirts aren't flattering for the petite frame. What do you think about long skirts that come just above the ankle? Not pleated or full styles but just a long skirt that does not have too much volume/fullness. I don't work anymore so don't have to worry about dressing up but a long skirt (lightweight material) I think might feel cooler then pants to wear in hot weather. I don't wear shorts anymore either.
Hello , I think you can get away with an ankle skirt that is fitted, and falls around your hips , and a nice fitted top to balance it out , and a bit of a heal helps , and a split works as well , showing a bit of leg is good to . I know I have the same problem. Good luck .
I am 50 something and I do “look” in the Junior department for sweaters. They are a little smaller and sometimes I score and find something plain that is also age appropriate! Also plus junior jeans are another place to look. They seem to be proportioned for a petite. However no faded or ripped jeans!
Great video! But let's not forget about Flare jeans just dusting the floor with heels ...gives us petite ladies mile long legs!! I'm 4"11 90 lbs and they really make me look "tall" lol
Totally agree on the petite top thing. I am also a bit busty and it takes up at least an extra inch or two of fabric. I can totally wear capris (I used to wear them years ago when they were trendy - I’m a lot older than you haha), but I have long legs although I’m petite. Love your channel.
Midi skirts especially satin bias cut ones look great on anyone with flat stomachs and thinner legs no matter the height I think. Plus you can pair them with so many things such as knits, singlets, crop tops and cute blouses
That’s a really good point!! I probably should give it another try but make sure I find it in a petite length! :) I love satin skirts so much and really want to wear them!
I don't know how petite you are, I'm 5'2 and the midi, maxi skirts and dresses looks great on me, so I would say it really depends on the style/cut off the item. The high waisted bootcut jeans will elongate the petite frame as well, you just should make sure they are high waisted and be careful to pair them with right style of shoes.
Ladies: It's all about proportion. Long-waisted/short-legged? or are you Short-waisted/Long-legged? Start there. And as far as bootcut jeans (or any other pants/jeans, for that matter) -- always remember this rule: The wider the pant leg, the longer the pant. That also means the more fluid the fabric needs to be, and your heel needs to be higher. Proportion, ladies. It's all about proportion.
I'm a petite girl who is only 5ft, so I'm not even tall enough to fit into most petite clothing, as the majority of them start at 5ft 2inches or 5ft 3 inches. I agree with you on the dainty prints and chunky knits, or oversized clothing. Also, I personally hate petite tops and petite jeans, they're always way too tight or too small. I don't get it, it's as if designers think we don't have boobs, thighs and a bum. However, I'm not sure I agree when it comes to peplum tops, midi skirts and midi dresses. As I find they make me look taller, not shorter and I love them.
I like peplum tops with belts to emphasize my waist I always wear. clothes that accent my houglass figure. I also.like midis and maxis...boho is my favorite summer style.
Thank you for all these tips. I do tend to buy regular as the petite seem to be shorter all ways. So if you are busty then it is tight. Just like you are saying, the top creeps up and appears to be cropped, I find it does the same width wise too - feels too tight width ways. I have noticed that because manufacturers think you are short - they also think you are super thin and that is not often the case, so why cut off a couple of inches all the way around?? I would need a size up for petite in order for things to fit, so I just go nor regular. But the tips on how to wear things is brilliant.
Peplum tops terrify me, and I despise the look. I feel the same about super skinny painted on jeans. They make everyone's backside look huge because of the disproportion to the leg and ankle. Also, if your tummy isn't perfectly flat or you have more hips... forget both. There is an old TV show from the 90s/earlier 2000s called "What Not to Wear". They had a lot of great fashion/styling rules to live by and one I will always remember is just because a style is trendy, in every store, made by every designer, and on every celebrity doesn't mean it works on everyone (or anyone really!) - Similar to what you said :)
Yes!! I wish I clarified that in the video. After see'ing bootcut jeans on some petites, it actually did make them look taller if they wore very tall shoes. Although, for myself and my personal style I don't enjoy wearing bootcut. I'm more into skinny/straight leg jeans!
For me, petite tops are perfect. My figure is the opposite (curvier on the bottom than the top) so I still have enough length to tuck them in. Peplum tops only work if I buy them in petite sizes; they hit at the right spot! But a definite NO to bootcut jeans; the legs have too much fabric. I mainly wear skinny jeans and occasionally straight legs if I want to wear them over boots.
i am new and agree about the sweaters and the flared jeans, the peplum tops, chunky sweaters, i dont want to look older but more classy but I can wear some things petites. it depends how long the top of i frame is as apposed to how long the 2/3 part of your body is. I can do a few things like tee shirts in the junior section. I can not wear baggy clothes at all. I agree with the same thing about crop pants- oh they make me look horrible. Maybe can go to regular sizes but cropped= maybe. I did for leggings and it worked from Macy's. I really really love your tips and the reason you give help alot. I think it all depends on your petite height and your body propotions but I do agree that yes chunky jewelry not good. For me I am older than you look so I want to stay current but I have to dress for a petite frame. I am only 5 ft. tall. I agree with the length of the midi dresses I bought one online and it looks terrible on me. I wandered from what length works for me in dresses, and found it does not work. Back to the junior section. It depends. Same goes for petite section. Just because it says petite it does not mean it is going to work for me. It is hit and miss. Just because we are petite designers need to realize we are not all cookie cutter. It is not easy to find petite sizes but when I do it does not mean they will work. Not all sites that talk about petite dressing also realize that all will work for all ages or body types, or what you would feel comfortable as a mom to wear or appropriate. Thank you for everything you said as I feel many who are petite would agree with what looks appropriate.
Hey!! Thanks for subscribing! ❤️❤️ And omg the weird thing is, most petite tops in the sleeves are actually too short 🤷🏻♀️ maybe I have long arms or something 🤣 but I’d say regular tops, in the arms fit pretty good most of the time! Sometimes it’s just a tad long so I just roll it up :)
Oh and for coats and jackets (at least long ones) I always try to buy petite because I don’t want it too long (past my knees) so the only “non petite” item I don’t buy is tops.. they’re just too short and I need a little extra length!
agree with you except for midi skirts, these are absolutely amazing on petites (only those with non stiff fabrics). I even think these look better on petites than on taller women. Mini skirts, however, I would avoid as a petite because they somehow make you look more compact. Those with side slits I also avoid - to me these tend to look cheaper.
Great video. I agree with everything except bootcut jeans. Maybe because I have really thin long legs. So it sometimes also boils down to body type. Thanks again
I love buying jeans from Madewell and Levis. It also helps knowing what you perfect inseam is. "petite" jeans are also a struggle for me too because most of them are 28" inseam and thats still too long for myself personally. I'm 5ft 0'. I have another petite style tips video coming out this Thursday actually! So in that video i'm talking more about inseams! But i get the best luck with Madewell jeans(its expensive but so worth it + you can get them on sale often! just gotta keep an eye out) Levis jeans and Abercrombie jeans as well! some of their jeans they carry in X-Short!
@@ElanaKinda Thanks so much for your kind reply. I will be on the look out for Madewell sales. I am also 5ft 0" so I understand the struggle all to well. I cant wear petite bottoms or tops, find they are too short. the cut is just not right for me. Looking forward to your next video x
I’ve always hated capri jeans. I don’t think a lot of people can look good on them. And I especially hate it on myself. I see some women at my work wearing them because of the temperatures where we work (since we have to wear pants that are longer than knee length) so I decided to give them a try Andy omg I hated myself. 😂
I cannot wear petite slacks. My legs are to long. I have no waist. I wear the six inch align short and it fits just right a 4 inch short is really short on me. 🤷♀️
@@carrietwickler3157 Thats so interesting! Even for petite frames all our proportions are so different and all have to find out what will best suit our unique body type!
I think you should revisit midi skirts, I luv em, with slits & pleated. Bought about 8 this summer pair with blousy, t-shirts, heels, sandals, tennis shoes😊
I definitely will!! ❤️ I think my issue was I wasn’t specifically looking for petite options , or thinking about how a tailor can make it look better! And I actually want to do an entire video on trying on different midi skirts or dresses in the future as a petite so if you have any brands you recommend, I would love to know!!❤️❤️
Our malls are closed but Ross has some nice pleated & pencil skirts right now. I think I actually look better in regular length vs petite length & feel more comfortable in them. I just bought 4 prs of summer wedges today that will complement them all at Famous Footwear bogo half price sale! Have fun with the dresses & skirts video, look forward to it & thank you for replying😊
Eliza Rodriguez thank you so much! Never would have thought to check Ross! Will need to check to see if ours is open :) and thank you for your feedback! Much appreciated ❤️❤️
You may have mentioned it, but I forget what your height is? Also, what do you think of jeans that are cut to fall just below the knees? Not capri's but just wear it covers the knee. I am 5' 1" and have thickish thighs and chubby knees. However, my legs below the knees are not thick or chubby at all. So, just wondering what you think of the shorts that stop just below the knees? If I do wear them they are jean/ denim material in blue or black. Also, unlike you I am small on the top part of my body and narrow shoulders but not small waist. (From ABOVE the waist to shoulders I am very small). I hate the cropped look in tops and too old to wear them anyway. Long sleeve blouses ALWAYS too long on me.
I am petite and pear-shaped. I do find that bootcut works for me being pearshaped but does not really enhance my petite body... except when I wear it with heeled boots..
Ahh totally feel ya! Sometimes searching for “cropped jeans” will show up with jeans under 26” ! Madewell has a petite section for their jeans (pricy but high quality) and I was able to find some at 25” and American Eagle X-Short have inseams 26” and under, Levi wedgie straight has a 26” , some of Abercrombie Jeans are also 26” and under :) try looking at those retailers or search “cropped jeans” those are a few ways I find some :) I’m also very short and petite is usually still too long 😆😆
I used to shop the petite section because of my frame and I could fit in my son’s sweatshirts and joggers BUT I noticed the sleeves are always too short for my arms and the waist doesn’t always flatter the hip area!
I don't buy any light colored bottoms, or anything with side way stripes or Nothing oversized. I do shop in the kids department, leggings, tops, coats, and gloves! 4'9"
Hey Iam 5' but Iam top and bottom heavy with a small waist. It's impossible to show off my figure. If I wear a belt it cuts off from my already small torso. I don't know what to do. And wearing heels makes my already longer legs even longer 🤷🏽♀️
Thats a beautiful figure girlfriend!! own what you got! I've never had this type of figure so I'm not the best at giving advice on how to dress it (would need to do research) but for tops, maybe peplum tops would work! They're amazing for showing off curves. It could be kinda tricky finding a waistline that hits right at the smallest point but a tailor could always adjust for you! Wearing tops that also a little longer and have a flowy shape at the bottom can lengthen your torso too :) Its all about balance! If you notice one part is shorter an other is longer, balance each part out with clothing!
@@ElanaKinda Thank You Elana. Youre right, I need to fing the right point to cut my waistline at. Peplums unfortunately hide my natural waist and I end up looking plump up and down with it. Longer tops do wonders though :) Thanks for the advice , and great videos. Id have never thought you were a mum, if you hadnt mentioned it , you look very pretty, lots of love
i think you are very wrong about the oversized clothes, infact i think only petites can pull it off, big ppl look awkward in it, ut we petites are so cute
New subscriber! Where do you usually shop? I’m 5ft even. I usually shop at Loft in the petites section. I’ve tried looking in other stores but it’s hard for me. Also I completely agree on not buying petite tops! Always too short on me
Welcome gf!! :) I shop at a wholeee bunch of different places... Levis for jeans, Madewell for tops & Jeans, Target, H&M, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Abercrombie, Jcrew, Loft, Old Navy, Banana Republic.. Really just everywhere! Since I don't buy petite tops, I can look for tops pretty much everywhere! I guess the only "petite" specific items I look for are jeans, pants, dresses and coats (depending what kind of style im looking for) :)
What I love about being petite is that you also look younger. I would have never guessed you were a mom.

I like a slim boot cut but I have thick thighs so maybe I feel it balances that out you know.
I hate skinny jeans on me too because I have hips and have a more rectangular shape

I totally agree with looking into proportions! Everyone has a different body type even if the same height, it really just depends!
Virginia Mallonee thanks for the tips I am short torso as well
Yes, right below the knee is a great length! But mid-calf? A little out of proportion.
Yes! I have a few capris that I had hemmed right below the knee and they look cute with ballet flats or sandals. But the wider ones look hideous!
Your hair looks great! Love it.
Aw! Thank you so much! ❤️
If you're a petite biggest saving grace is learning how to hem ( skirts dresses jeans) your cloths or go take them into a shop! It makes a huge difference! 3/4 is the golden rule for you short ladies out there (:
aw i feel ya
I agree with you, I’m 5’2” and I think your tips are so accurate. I love your style.
Wow! Your hair looks amazing!
I'm 5.2 and Its crazy that I actually have been avoiding everything you mentioned since forever coz they don't look good on me either. This video is too relatable to me!
wow, no way! Glad it was relatable! :)
SAME
I just bought boot cut jeans. I'm 5'2" but very busty. My logic was it would balance me. Now I wanna see you in boot cut jeans.
I need to just buy a pair to try it on!! Haven’t owned any in over 10 years lol! It would be interesting to see!
Boot cut works for me with heels. I’m 5’2
I love this. Thank you! It is so hard to find clothes that fit well being petite. Helps confirm what I thought was true!
I agree with all your suggestions. I also find petite tops are too short in the arms and tight in the shoulders. The one item I do buy petite sizes in is longer cardigans. I usually size up one size. This way the cardigan hits at my lower hip rather than way down my leg.
yes totally agree! and thats a really good tip on cardigans too! thank you :)
LOL
Your makeup is amazing in this video!
Thank you!❤️
Im 39 and 5'2 and about 100 lbs I'm often mistaken for being much younger. I shop juniors and kids!! The items often fit me better in arm length ect. You just have to really search for those basics or things that don't look childish. But the items are so much cheaper like outerwear. Macy's has a ton of good stuff though!
Petite has nothing to do with a frame. It’s all about height. Plus everyone who is petite cannot wear the same thing because of their body shapes.
No
Your hair is BEAUTIFUL! I agree with all your recommendations! I do wear wide leg pants to length my legs. I am big chested, it’s hard being a petite!
I love that you keep it classy. :)
Which stores have good juniors sections?
Tops with dolman sleeves. I love the look, but man, I can't pull it off, and I think it's due to being short.
omg! I forgot about those kind of tops! I might still own something close to a top with dolman sleeves and almost never wear it lol! Completely agree
I totally agree about the tops. They are always too short and I am only 5’3. I love long fitted tops and flowing pants or shorts that look like a skirt.
Glad you agree! I need mine longer because of my lifestyle.. Mom of a very active boy so I don't want anything exposed on accident lol!
I totally agree with you especially with those oversized sweaters, bootcut jeans, and midi skirts and dresses. Lol
Glad you agree! :) I've seen other petites rock those clothing pieces but I find it hard to do that myself!
I’m petite also and all of these actually work nicely on me lol. It just goes to show that every woman’s body is different and beautiful 💖
I think one should stick to whatever looks good on her regardless one is petite or tall. If look good, wear it!
totally! In the end, wear what makes you happy :)
Good luck .

Thank you Katie. I appreciate your help on this.
Glad I can help .🤗
You're right about never go on trend clothes.
I am 50 something and I do “look” in the Junior department for sweaters. They are a little smaller and sometimes I score and find something plain that is also age appropriate! Also plus junior jeans are another place to look. They seem to be proportioned for a petite. However no faded or ripped jeans!
Which stores have good juniors sections?
Great video! But let's not forget about Flare jeans just dusting the floor with heels ...gives us petite ladies mile long legs!! I'm 4"11 90 lbs and they really make me look "tall" lol
Totally agree on the petite top thing. I am also a bit busty and it takes up at least an extra inch or two of fabric. I can totally wear capris (I used to wear them years ago when they were trendy - I’m a lot older than you haha), but I have long legs although I’m petite. Love your channel.
I'm much older than you, Elana, but I learned a few very important things from this video. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! :)
With the midi.dresses I wear them and i am a petite. But the floral print has to be really small in detail with nude heels/sandals
Thank you for your channel- it’s very helpful as I don’t know how to dress up myself 🥲- your advice is helpful 🙏
I don’t agree. I love midi skirts and dresses and I’m petite ☺️They look so flattering and feminine.
Please do a tutorial on your hair in this video!!
Of course! I'll try to make that soon! :)
incredible that brands are doing maxi and midi skirts in the petite ranges now, would have been scared to wear them otherwise!!
It's all about proportion.
totally agree!
I forgot to answer your question: no, I don't shop at junior stores. I don't think I've ever shopped at junior stores, that I can recall.
OMG glad i found your channel. I am petite also-I really do NOT like boot cut pants! 😹😹
Aww yay! ❤️ thank you :) and I know right?! 🙈🙈🙈
Also, there is a u-tuber called Petite Dressing and she shows how to wear midis.
I will check it out! Thank you
Chi. She is very sweet and informative:)
I bet I can pull up some photos of you in bootcut jeans 🤣 Loving this video, especially being 5' 2"! This is so helpful.
hahahahahaha send me pictures LOL!!
I agree 100% with dressing more classy/chic for petites. And I,have a big problem with petite or junior tops. Too tight in chest and arms.
Love this one- so helpful!
Where do you typically buy your clothing? I'm 5'1" and have such a hard time finding clothing. Also I'm pregnant. What about petite maternity?
Boot cut jeans look good if you can wear really high heels and they're better of you have a shorter torso and long legs. Long torso petites? . . .meh!
Yes!! I agree with bootcut jeans! Too much fabric and my legs are slim so its totally overwhelming, but I do love straight leg!
IF I wear tall boots, then midis look good on me and I love maxi skirts too and mermaid...I feel and look more feminine in them.
i am new and agree about the sweaters and the flared jeans, the peplum tops, chunky sweaters, i dont want to look older but more classy but I can wear some things petites. it depends how long the top of i frame is as apposed to how long the 2/3 part of your body is.
New subscriber! Very helpful! Do you not find regular tops , sweaters, coats and jackets too long in the arms? At 5 ft. 1” I certainly do.
I am petite everything lol & for my size you are spot on ! I’m a size kids 12 😂 Every now & then I find great kids stuff at Country Road
agree with you except for midi skirts, these are absolutely amazing on petites (only those with non stiff fabrics). I even think these look better on petites than on taller women. Mini skirts, however, I would avoid as a petite because they somehow make you look more compact. Those with side slits I also avoid - to me these tend to look cheaper.
I am petite but I love wide leg pants and just balance it by wearing snug tops and work just fine.
All midi dresses are actually maxi on me, maxi dresses are way too long for me 😂
lol!! same girl, same! :) its a great petite hack if you want a maxi dress without the tailoring!
I know! I’ve been wanting to try this! Cropped pants hit me just at the ankle and it looks so much better then hemmed or folded pant legs ❤️❤️❤️
Great video. I agree with everything except bootcut jeans. Maybe because I have really thin long legs. So it sometimes also boils down to body type. Thanks again
Where do you buy jeans from? I find petite ranges looks wrong and makes me look shorter and standard is too long...
For my petite ladies, find a Taylor/seamstress. I'm a clearance rack shopper and that usually doesn't have petite/short sizes
Wow! No way!! Long legs are beautiful though! :) Are you considered "petite" ?
@@ElanaKinda yes I'm 5ft 1.5 in.
My hip bone and my last rib almost touch. Its freaky.
@@carrietwickler3157 Thats so interesting! Even for petite frames all our proportions are so different and all have to find out what will best suit our unique body type!
@@ElanaKinda I know..

I have a short torso myself and there are so many issues trying to get dressed :(
I'm 50 and I still go into the junior section in stores but I don't buy as much stuff there as before. I mostly buy in the petite stores.
Long sleeve blouses ALWAYS too long on me.
thank you for the tips. you're so pretty. i love your hair. please give us more tips in fashion, hair, make up lol.
Awe!! Thanks so so much girlfriend! 🤍 definitely will 😊
Hey I'm 5 foot and u wanted to know if a petite can wear platform block heels ?
I just found your channel! I love your tips. You are beautiful, you look so much like Demi Moore!
Awh!! Thank you! :) & I've actually had several people tell me that haha!
I am petite and pear-shaped. I do find that bootcut works for me being pearshaped but does not really enhance my petite body... except when I wear it with heeled boots..
I appreciate your insight...however, I was hoping that you might show examples for the issues you note. Thanks so much for sharing!
Where do you buy petite sized jeans and pants? It’s so hard to find an inseam under 25”.
Ahh totally feel ya! Sometimes searching for “cropped jeans” will show up with jeans under 26” ! Madewell has a petite section for their jeans (pricy but high quality) and I was able to find some at 25” and American Eagle X-Short have inseams 26” and under, Levi wedgie straight has a 26” , some of Abercrombie Jeans are also 26” and under :) try looking at those retailers or search “cropped jeans” those are a few ways I find some :) I’m also very short and petite is usually still too long 😆😆
Great tips, thank you
I used to shop the petite section because of my frame and I could fit in my son’s sweatshirts and joggers BUT I noticed the sleeves are always too short for my arms and the waist doesn’t always flatter the hip area!
I'm petite and curvey, especially from my waist and below and hands. Does this make sense?
Can you do a video on this? Pretty please?
Ps. My body type is inverted triangle.
Totally know what you mean! & I possibly could in the future! Will need to look into it :))
@@ElanaKinda very kind of you! Thank you so much!
What stores do you go to find clothes? I only shop at one store because its the only place with clothes that fit right.
petite tops are ok on me becuz i got a small chest & upper torso but i wouldn't get the slim fitted ones cuz it shows my belly more
As a petite I agree with ALL of these!
☺️☺️❤️❤️
Great Tips! I'm 4'10"
I can totally relate with not wanting to look 12!😒 loved this video
I don't buy any light colored bottoms, or anything with side way stripes or Nothing oversized. I do shop in the kids department, leggings, tops, coats, and gloves! 4'9"
Omg lol @ peplum tops! I used to love that shit 😹
@@checkermaker480 Thank you so much! :)
i think you are very wrong about the oversized clothes, infact i think only petites can pull it off, big ppl look awkward in it, ut we petites are so cute
