  • This is a quick run down of how I use a person's measurements to lay out the leg of a pair of chaps we are building. This is not a full chap making video, it's just a short tip on using the measurements to correctly fit the customer. Making chaps and leggings can be frustrating when it comes to fit.

Thank you for another great video Don! I usually spend a lot of time customizing my patterns for each client, but your way is much simpler!

Thanks Don. I would like to see more on finishing out the chaps. I'm sure there are many like myself that have never made chaps and would love to learn how. I think a pattern pack along with a measurement guide would be well worth the money.

Tandy has a decent pattern pack. Not all the chap patterns but the basics are there

Love your stuff. And your new place. Hope to get to visit sometime soon. I travel for work and am in TX quite often... Also, a full project video on these would be great. Anyway, love your channel, you and Aaron from Makers Mark inspired me to get into leatherwork and I'm now making all kinds of stuff for people. Currently working on a matching belt and wallet combo for a customer and also a gun holster... Thanks again for all you do!!!

In couture dressmaking, we make a muslin mock up of the dress. Then we make alterations on it. Hopefully, by using the mock-up, we won’t have to make alterations. Do you ever use such a thing?
