Does the ground wire for the solinoid not need to be attached to anything? I am having the same issues with my XT1

So there is 3 wires to the solenoid. Black, green, and red. The green wire is the only one that is not used, it should be wire tied to the others as part of the harness. I'm sure it used for something on a different model and they use the same harness to save cost. The red and black should be connected. With 2 wires, it's simple and when the key is turned on, the ground (black) wire is grounded to the chassis and completes the circuit and the solenoid should open. You should hear it click also. If it doesn't open, there is either a connection issue, wire issue (specifically), or a solenoid issue.
