Thank god i'm mexican, we literally have people come at our homes selling 100% natural honey for cheap Some do kinda like, mess with it to get more yield and get more profit from it, using sugar and similar stuff, but it's easy to spot
@@TheChoabIve started trying this because of his videos and for all the basic equipment plus honey and yeast etc it cost around $250 NZD but once you've got all your equipment each batch would only cost $20-$40 NZD
Love the videos! We're on our second batch now, trying to make a cherry bakewell mead. I was wondering if you could offer any tips for fruit floating above the surface. Worried about mould!
If you want to protect your mead even more from oxidation, you can do what some wineries do and that's further sealing the cork with wax. Messy and all, the cork is still porous enough to allow for eventual oxidation to occur. I'm now wanting to making some mead with all the honey I have left but gotta watch more of your videos to get a better grasp on clarification! Keep at 'er sir!
@@Adam-no4gp it's probably the chemical process that happened when aging, some less desirable components within the mead breakdown over time, leaving most of the good stuff still floating around.
Somehow the algorithm brought me here and now this is all I can think about. Do you have a list of what equipment is required to get this going? Would love to try and make a bottle of mead for Christmas as a surprise for the family. Thanks!
Back sweetening. Basically stabilizing the mead so no fermentation can occur and then adding honey into the batch. :) gravity readings for precise sweet ratings. Not to hard !
By measuring the sugar content and abv calculator online. You use like this small narrow container and put a special bobber sugar measurer thingie and put in the numbers in the abv calculator
I mean sure kids can drink it, the question is just if its legal. I know on most european countries its legal if the kid is older than 12 and its on a private property. The parents need to give consent tho. In public, no
Do keep in mind, some supermarket honey are mixed with high fructose corn syrup... So in the end the mead tastes might be... Different... I.e. wrong
another great reason to support local beekeepers

Amazing!!! Is it possible to carbonate it?
Yes you can, just like any beer or sparkling wine.

Would a little pineapple be good in a batch? Never made it but kind of want to try
Great way to save money
Where can I buy this stuff?? Like the jar and c02 thing?
Thanks for the tip! Can't wait for my ninth birthday 😎😎😎
What do you mix in the little bowl
Your videos inspired me and now I'm brewing a mead-kombucha with a concentrated Ahmad green tea and buckwheat honey. Hope it turns out 🤞
wow that sounds awesome! how's that going?
@@keebhaavana3387 I’ll be honest it wasn’t delicious, but it definitely had a kick.
Can you use bread yeast?
Question how can u make a fortified mead wine? & how to make ur wine stronger??
Is aging the result of continued fermentation but at a slower pace due to less yeast presence?
Shouldn't be. Excess fermentation after bottling cam create makeshift explosives. Idk what it does exactly but the flavors are better with age 🤷

Do you age it in the carboy or do you age it after you bottle
I age in the carboy until it’s totally clear then I’ll bottle. You can also bottle age for years
Oh man I would be so scared to use raspberries bc they have sometimes so much undetected mould
I know dude every time I get a little batch from the store there's always some mold in there bro

Not really, it usually gets better as it ages
How is a natural cork better than plastic better for the quality of the wine? Plastic corks are made to not have any effect whatsoever?
Wonder how strawberries and cherries would make it taste
