Just came here to say a BIG BIG BIG thank you. BIG. Bought a new van and window wasnt working. I was looking at changing window regulator but came accross your video. After a £5 purchase from flebray. I got my electric window. You sir are a star.
My switch failed so I looked it up and your video came up,same symptoms.I was in a bit of a panic when it happened. So After watching the video I thought I'd go straight for a new switch Bingo all works again Just like to say a big thank you for your knowledge and videoing the procedure 👍
I did the same thing but unfortunately when I took the door panel off I realised that the motor was missing! I think the seller might have scavenged it for another van before they sold me mine. Any idea what the part number is for the motor?
Good tutorial, review. However, if you have taken the window panel down anyway, I suppose it was a good idea to lubricate glass holding track and runners with WD40. Many a time, even if all is good, glass holding metal holders get rusted and break. Just a thought ;-0
Have exactly same problem with driver side power window .Bought new switch from eBay and bot sides not working plus blowed fuse every time when push any of the new switch bottom.
You should really put a warning on your vids Rob. Caution: May cause desire to buy new tools. That's nicer than my cheapo wing Wang worn out power probe clone... Hot as hell in the black country today. Really not the right weather for working. 🍺 Nice one as always.
you had it fixed at 5:11 just leave the tool in there for him lol I love your multimeter you want to swap😁 why did you not take up the special film on the door 😁😁😁😂🤣😂😁😁😂🤣🤣😂😁😁😂😂🤣😂😁😁😂🤣
any help please i have a e39 5231auto 1998 fuse 15 does not work the spark bridged fuse 39 and 38 car goes but air bag light stay on when you take the key out the radio stays on for 30 to 60 sec
@@OneAuto Thanks, that'd be useful as I'm meter-illiterate and can't figure out if the problem is the (passenger side) switch or the motor. I figure it must be the motor as the driver's side (passenger) switch isn't working now either.
Start by checking the fuse actually has power going through it. If it has trace it towards the switches until you find a break. Might be worth checking for a break in the door flex wires.

Perfect!! Well done!!
I never miss a One Auto video - always so much to learn. Pure technical skills and advice without all the advertising/sponsorship crap.
Thank you 😊
The banter is strong in this workshop
THANK YOU! Same symptoms, ordered a switch and we are away again!!
Thank you for your knowledge, had the same problem, ordered new part , now all fixed . All the best.
Great work Rob with nice diagnostics .Even though he was a carpenter he gave it a good try to fix it 😀
Cheers Terry and yes if the junk yard switch would have worked he would have 'NAILED' it first time 😉

And let me know next time you need a switch - I have a spare now! 😂
I need exactly same switch where can I buy.
I do love simple circuits. At my level of diagnostics it fits me. I do have to say that power probe can he handy at times. Great one Rob.
Another cool vid cheers Rob , im glad you decided to turn that beeper off cant believe how loud it is lol.
You wanna be holding it!!
I wondering if you could take the switch from the other side and try that before purchasing a new one
New old switch :) Yes I was thinking the feed wire was cut as well until you checked. Cheers
It's great that scrap yards can sell the parts online. But not all test before they ship. Cheers Steve

Great job my daughter has this van need a brand new switch not second hand😊
The risk of second hand parts. Good job Rob
Absolutely. Cheers 🍻

Nice diagnosis. Can you believe that Eric O. doesn't like power probes :-P I want the Power Probe 4 Master Kit!
I've never used a genuine powe probe. I like the features of the Autel PS100 though.
Great video again Rob
Paul Mayou Cheers 🍻
Please can anyone tell what the small brown plug is supposed to connect to.
Hi I watch the video and I have a same problem but when I press the switch something clicking, what can be my issue?
Great vid, Hope they warranty the broken switch he bought.
We can only hope. Cheers 🍻

Yeah same here my friend. Cheers
Good work ! Would have been a quick fix if you hadn't had to wait on a switch 👍

Hahaha I know how unprofessional of me 😂😂 The owner actually said he was going to do it, so fair play.

Has that meter you're using got its own power source, as you've disconnected the motor, I don't see how you're powering it...
Yes it’s connected to the battery. Like a power probe

Where you based dude?
You probably would do okay if you did it for a living HAHA. Nice quick diagnosis & repair!
HAHA thanks man 👍
Great vid Rob
Cheers
Jamie
good one again rob..
Great job mate
get in there! Modus exact symptoms and cure worked first time thank you
I have a 16 plate with auto shut after engine has been switched off. Sometimes it’s not not the switch but only needing reprogrammed.👍🏻🏴🤝🏴
Must be a high failure item that window switch. Is the replacement part made in China like most of the replacement parts here across the pond in USA?
The switch is a weak point. Think it was made in France. China is smashing out parts globally!
My window goes down ok, but won't go back up, it makes a horrible juddering noise. I have to pull it up. I was hoping to find a video for that :(
I got no power at both my switches and the fuse ain't blown, any ideas

Thanks, I'll check it out
Thank you
"New to him" switch! =)
I do love a secondhand car part! Simple check & he could of worked it out himself if he had any sense.
Well he's a carpenter but enjoyed himself trying to fix it so fair play.
One Auto, Stick to the Hammer & Chisels might be his best option :D
work on any three wheel vans. trotta independent trading co.
In the past, not many of those around now
One Auto, i know. i only know about them from fools and horses
Parts Cannon dispatched by the owner. You know it's an extra £30 on the bill if you try and fix it yourself lol
Haha yeah so I've heard!
£40 if you try and tell me whats wrong with it!
Good job giving away trade secrets and taking work away from people who need to support their families..
Nothing secret about it, but thanks for watching the video.. the ad revenue you have generated is going to support my family.
