His whole arc was pretty funny. butcher and hughie are investigating the death of a young man but throughout it all they question the sexuality of the boy and tekknight and another supe 😂 even hughie eventually points out tht the sexuality doesn't change tht he died lmao. And teknight is hilarious. He has a tumor in his head that's messed with his impulses and so he where there's a hole there's a goal. It also starts making him think tht he might be gay and he messes with his head lmao
I honestly dislike Season 4 ep 6, especially bc of the way how they portrayed Tek Knight. They turned a genuinely good yet incredibly flawed hero into the racist white version of P Diddy. I get the show is trying to be its own and steer away from the source material but still! We never got to see him wear his suit (which I could forgive bc of the budget), we never explored his character more, we never got a confirmation for whether or not the tumor was the direct cause of his depravity.. he just felt so wasted in the show, especially bc they decided to kill him off in the show. Tek Knight in the comics is WAYYYY better than his show counterpart imo
"Good" mate he's a sadistic who likes to torture his victims with mind games, in gen-v we can see that, he was never a good guy and the fact he's more than a racist is a satire to the inherent wealth of most rich people from years of slave trading.
Honestly, f*** Kripke and those hack writers for taking a character who could have served as a good story to counter the corrupt superhero ideal but instead, just turned him into another rotten dbag. Him as a misguided but ultimately genuinely good hero would have been far more of an intriguing storyline than what they delivered.
I'm infinitely disappointed that Tek Knight wasn't just an overly horny iron man in the show. Yeah, he's still overly horny in the show, but taking away the armor and the clear 'Ironman/batman' parody he was in the comics ruins the charm.
If this series wasn't cheap like a damn Power Rangers season, maybe they could do something interesting with Tek Knight. Aside from the tumor affecting his libido, he was one of the only Supes that wanted to be a hero. But looks like having a racist Bruce Wayne wannabe was more funny.
I was so confused one what exactly this guy is supposed to be. A lot of hero’s mirror Marvel or DC characters. Homelander obviously being superman, A train is the flash, Maeve is wonder woman. Etc. but it makes sense now what exactly Tek is a parody of.
I really love the changes they made in the show for a lot of these characters, Tek Knight was a pretty fascinating villain but I would’ve loved to have seen his armor make an appearance!
The more I see of this season, I'm am beginning to sway that way also. Don't get me wrong, some of it is just vintage Garth Ennis edge lord but the twist at the end was great and this season especially seems to have descended into the showrunners wanting to get their political opinions out there rather than tell a cohesive story.
Tek Knight is probably the only character in The Boys where his Comic Book counterpart is a saint compared to his show version
