@@marcosdheleno but the comics actually did tell a story, I can't see how you could have possibly read the whole series and didn't get what the story was. If that superheroes are bad and terrible people or whatever, is the impression that you got as an overall story, you sure did miss or misunderstand a lot.
@@jaqua7732 Like I said, I thought the show's story seemed more realistic. Sarcastic, yes, but it took its own premise seriously. The comic went beyond sarcasm into a full-on parody of a superhero story.
@@daniell1483 it wasn't a parody of a superhero story at all dude. One punch man is a parody of a superhero story. That story was very realistic in that it was government experimentation that started it all. Just like the government does illegal experimentation on the civilian population all the way up until today. Also in that it was extreme government corruption that had the organizations running how they were. Just like governments do with organizations that they start or overtake today. The story emphasized on how things would actually look if that many random people suddenly had that type of power. Do you really think that many people would be so caring and loving and concerned about humanity that all they would want to do is help? No you would have people displaying every type of personality that people actually display. Which means a ton of them would be narcissistic, psychotic, insane, power hungry, fame-driven and worse. Especially when you take into consideration that it was all government controlled and that type of behavior is what they rewarded and perpetuated. In the comic that girl gave like two or three dudes a b****** to join that group. In Hollywood women and men both are often expected to perform sexually to further their positions. So I totally cannot understand how you can think the comic series didn't take itself seriously, but I can't argue about the realism, it's like I said 10 minutes into the first episode and I was already done.
"I personally thought he was a little too soft for my liking..." Bro he's a child 😅 Not only that, but he was a child who grew up with a compassionate mother who tried to teach him right from wrong. What an odd thing to say lmao
It’s a very odd thing to say. Like calling stormfront a millennial 11:30 she has pictures of her with Himmler and Geobbles and married Vought. She’s over 100 years old and says so several times. She’s from the silent generation she’s not even a boomer let alone a millennial. Idk wtf he was going for there
Yeah i picked up on that too, made me not vibe with this video/commentator, Ryan was a nice, sweet kid before Homelander, to hear him described as "too soft" was pretty douche-y actually
In the comic she is 12 as well but repadly aging because of the V the got from MM that is the reason why she is so mature because other girls and people could not believe her real age, that makes hers and her mother's( who is a completely different person compared to the series) decision to act in adult movies way more sinister
I feel like Lamplighter could come back as a "zombie." Yeah he was burned really bad but he is a supe. Also I'd have to go back and look but his "corpse" kind of looked like Jack from Jupiter. No nose, tight skin, etc
Would make sense actually. Considering there were actually revived supes in the comics and it seems in s3 the show is getting more and more things from the source material
You read the comics didn't you? Anyways if they do end up adapting the zombie characters i hope they actually DO something with it instead of just having them as literal background objects
I haven't read the comics but even hearing all this, I feel like I'm not getting spoiled because the comics are just so different that I feel it's impossible to get spoiled.

They can say the temp V didn't leave his system when they had sex. Making homelander extremely angry since it seems Butcher gets everything that homelander wants. He got Becca. Ryan. Homelander wanted kids with Queen Mave. He has a loyal team.
He doesn't have Becca or Ryan, but the other two things ye, and having any one of them over Homelander is enough for him to be pissed off about it I guess 🤣

this is one of the shoes that i actually like having not be completley linear to the comics because it feels so fresh just seeing the characters act differently
To my friends that haven’t read the comics, I say that The Boys TV show is much more of a reimagination of the source material rather than an adaptation. And yes, I also make it clear that the TV show is tame compared to the comics
lol idk how you could hate Deep his character arc is funny as shit to me - he's constantly getting c*cked and never gets to do any cool shit, its incredible
Lmao yea from what I can remember, his name and costume has absolutely nothing to do with his powers. Vaught just made it up to have a water based superhero for the team.
After seeing Gen V, I get the feeling they really want to extend this universe.. It doesn't feel like a one and done season, feels like the introduction to so much more.. I think Homelander and The Boys will be forced to team up against a bigger bad.. They've hinted at it, and the way the show is going I can't see him taking over the world.. They'll push towards it then pull the rug out.
I think a-train will get a redemption arc in season 4 but mess it up by killing someone the same way as he killed hughies girlfriend in the first episode and one of the last things butcher does before he dies is capture A-train for hughie to finally bring long over due vengeance to the guy.
i think if he does, the series hughie wont kill him instead it will either be butcher or an accident. with maybe starlight seeing and thinking hughie is a psychopath now that he got powers.
One key difference is that in the comics the biggest divergence from the real world happened during 9-11. In the comics, the plane incident was explicitly tied to 9-11.
I reckon that they made it a lot more tame in terms of themes etc, but not to its detriment. The show is still great and still very brutal, but what happened in the comics just wouldn't fly, and we'd find it hard to connect with the characters if they were how they appeared in the comic.
The show is insanely better than the comics. The comic feels like its just for shock and everyone is awful for the sake of being terrible while the show gives the characters so much more dimension and complexity. For once the show is better than the source material lol
the boys takes liberties like the walking dead did. straying from source material to tell a different story. lets just hope they are better at it than the walking dead.
The Boys comic feels needlessly mean at times and pointlessly dark, like it FEELS like a SI Revenge Fantasy against several comic super heroes with the serial numbers filed off at times. Is it bad that I prefer Worm to The Boys when The Boys was written by a person who HATES super heroes and the idea of super heroes?
this is what i call an adaptation, my favorite series in decades, this is what i expected to see for resident evil, get the source material, and make it look more human and less "gamey", for the comics is the same, you're not suppose to take 100% of the source material into a series, otherwise, what's the point of the adaptation?
So soldier boy + liberty . stormfront+homelander = like father like son 🙈 and what happens in season 4 if mave is pregnant with a butcher's baby . I think butcher was on temp v and mave lost her powers due to soldier boy
To be clear (show) Homelander father is soldier boy but her mom is unknown but let’s just say who else can/could fly, would be down to create a genetic superior race, and started herogasm with soldier boy
What if homlander is storm front and soldier boys child? They needed a mother too and she was the strongest of females ; and it would make the show even more fked up
Stormfront was the first Supe, but definitely not the strongest, that would be Queen Maeve (as per the showmakers). But Stormfront and then Soldier Boy did end up getting the purest version of the Serum, which was simply superior. The later ones were mass manufactured and I guess very diluted in quality. That would make sense as apart from Homelander (Who actually was born from Soldier Boy's sperm and an unknown mother's egg) may have got the purest form of V or a genetic variant from Soldier Boy while all other supes such as Queen Maeve, Noir or even A-Train got great powers, but none on the level of HOmelander.
"her character was expanded to include being bisexual but that never impacted the story" actually wrong for the show, the writter or director(forgot his name) said on a tweet that he wouldn't get Queen Mabe killed because she is the main LGBT character.
I am kinda hoping they replace some of the members of the seven with some hero’s not featured yet in the comics since what happened with Maeve, starlight, supersonic, and noir.
What the comic does a bit better is Hughie and Starlight/Annies relationship. It's more complex than the show at times and delves more into the psychological factors of getting molested/raped, where in the show she was just simply angry about it. In the comic It's a constant battle for each other to keep the relationship together as they both have troubles revealing their traumas to one another. People who read the comics and say it's edge lord stuff haven't really read the comics, because all that edginess and gore is pretty much very surface level to keep things unique, many people watch the show for the crazy edgy stuff too, it sells. You are mostly reading the comic for the stories of Butcher, Hughie, and Annie, the rest are edgy filler that are honestly just breaks from the relationship drama, and moral drama with Hughie and Butcher. Of course with a cute little bonus of Frenchie and The Female relationship. My proof? It's the only things the show hasn't changed from the comics at all.
Definitely agree 100%! Hughie and Annie’s relationship in the show is very one-note, same arguments and scenes between them repetitively. Their comic relationship has a lot more going for it.
Just because black noir was killed off the show doesn’t mean black noir is dead. He’s just a man in a mask and a black suit. They don’t even know if that’s the same black noir when they first formed the seven.
Can’t wait to see what they do with Malchemical and the G-Men in future seasons. The source material is wild AF, but the adaptation is one of the best shows out there

THATS THE JOKE. The whole person was that they tried rebranding superheroes to make them inoffensive and in doing so they made a black guy look like a klansman
Kripke changed so much from the comics you can barely even make comparisons anymore, the show is totally different than the books, whichever one you prefer is the only factor in if that’s good or bad
How did The Boys even get picked up as a show in the first place? I am seeing so many comments saying the comics aren't even good. I mean, I guess the overall plot is pretty unique. But were the comics even popular before the show? (I am not a comic guy, but absolutely loved watching The Boys).

I thought Marvel's Civil War was a better take than in the comics. The comic version was just so Stoopid. Live action version made Iron Man more relatable. The two things that I think The Boys comic did better was everything Vass and the gaslighting of Homelander. Other than that the show is much better.
@@AceMoonshot you are right, if we expand to movie or shows that aren't R-rated we can find many examples, but most of them get only some points better than the comics (like DuckTales 2017 is one of the greatest animated shows ever because of the characters but the action sequences, especially the ones in the past, are epic in the comics) +1 like if there is another person who watched both shows I think I'm the only one

My crackpot theory is that Ryan will be the final villain. The finale of season 2 showed that Ryan might be stronger than Homelander, and at this point he's still just a kid. I think Black Noir will come back to kill Homelander, Butcher will face off against Ryan and probably die

She’s from the silent generation she’s not even a boomer let alone a millennial. Idk wtf he was going for there

@@-saklo-2256 Yeah, wiggi0620 is talking about what happened in the fictional show too. Your point?
Janine is quite different as well. She's a young adult with authority issues instead of MM's loving daughter.
In the comic she is 12 as well but repadly aging because of the V the got from MM that is the reason why she is so mature because other girls and people could not believe her real age, that makes hers and her mother's( who is a completely different person compared to the series) decision to act in adult movies way more sinister

All in all I have to say the show is pretty good whether or not you like all the changes. The cast is pretty great.
The cast is phenomenal. The show WAS mostly good. Season 4 has definitely dropped the ball and the showrunners are doing it on purpose. As is the trend it would seem right now.
You know what would be crazy for Queen.

Something that was missed is that in the show Ryan is the only natural born supe. Pretty sure they said somewhere in season 2 that every other supe's kids were given compound V to have powers. Ryan not being given compound V is probably going to play into soldier boys anti-supe power in season 4. They said it fries the compound V out of the supes blood, might not work against Ryan who was born with powers.

I agree, Jack could appear again as he appeared in the pr0n video that Hughie was watching and also since most of the 7 is gone
I wonder if Hughie might accidentally teleport inside of A-Train and create a similar effect to 'shrink-guy' and robin's death.
Hughie temp-V is really a big departure from the comics and pretty questionable. How can he control it? He just thinks really hard of a place and his body does the rest? How accurate is it? I have a feeling that Stormfront's DNA was still just as involved in Homelander's creation as was Soldier Boy's - since it was established by Homelander himself in the show that the female cells are still needed.

They boys took a niche comic and made a fantastic show
One key difference is that in the comics the biggest divergence from the real world happened during 9-11.

They needed a mother too and she was the strongest of females ; and it would make the show even more fked up
She’d of known.
The Amazon Soldier Boy is like an mix between Wolverine and Captain America.
I love all the gender swaps they did in the show (absolutely brilliant), especially Stormfront!!
starlight even looks exactly like her comic book counterpart
Was not expecting to see Kempe at 10:20
What the comic does a bit better is Hughie and Starlight/Annies relationship.
Their comic relationship has a lot more going for it.
that would be hard to portray on top of all the stuff happening in the show. im thinking 13 reasons why

Just because black noir was killed off the show doesn’t mean black noir is dead. He’s just a man in a mask and a black suit. They don’t even know if that’s the same black noir when they first formed the seven.
