Meet WesTheTech
_________________
My name is WesTheTech and I'm a music producer and recording artist who owns his own music business and recording studio. I am an expert at making hip-hop music as well as running a successful full-time business. Have you ever dreamed about doing music full-time? What’s stopping you? Is it that day job you have? Is it those endless bills? Or maybe you just don’t know how to make that dream become a reality?
I completely understand. I had those same problems as well. Back in 2011, my first independent music career failed. All I wanted to do was music full-time, but I didn't know how to successfully accomplish that. Like most unsuccessful artists, I went back to working a regular job. After years of working at that job, I realized through God's teachings that I wasn’t doing music full-time because I wasn't working towards that goal every day.
I realized that there were not going to be any shortcuts to this. I needed to figure out how to (1) make more money "legally" and (2) invest money in the RIGHT places so that I could successfully build an independent music business from the ground up. After a few years of figuring those things out, I was able to quit my job and do music full-time.
And now I want to show you how to do the same thing. And that's why I created WesTheTech Productions, a company that empowers independent recording artists to build a full-time music business so they no longer have to work outside of their craft.
Finally, you'll be able to quit your job. Finally, you'll be able to wake up every day and do music full-time. Finally, you'll be able to travel and perform at events. Finally, you will have your own independent music business.
If you’re local to South Florida keep The House in mind for your home for recording! For more info on the studio click here⬇️⬇️ www.westhetech...
Featured Songs: "Bread Winners”, ”S.T.I.G” and "No Games" performed by K’nek

Too lost also delivers apple motion artwork and dolby atmos
Very True!
How can you do tha?
@@justrutter it’s musixmatch they deliver everything it’s free. You just need to verify your artist name.
Wow... This sounds like the best distributor
I'm definitely gonna give it a try..... the best thing to do is release something with them and see how it goes before you distribute more .... for those of us with doubts its best to test the water and find out how deep or shallow it is
how is it ?
How is it ? Did you test them out ?
Everything done under 1 roof! Finally.
Just what I wanted to hear. I noticed on there podcast you get 3 months for free with the code running at the bottom of the podcast. Thanks for this
Where
Great information man. Big thanks to you. I woke up this morning and this was the first thing I saw. Love it
Glad it helped 💯✊🏿
@@WesTheTech I do have a question. Why do they ask for driving license. I was wondering if it’s safe to do that. Show you license.
Charting and copyright! This is too much wow ❤
Wow, this is making me excited to release! I needed a second opinion on Too Lost cause Distrokid screwed me over. Definitely will be working with them once I’m ready. Thank you❤
Do you mind elaborating on why distrokid screwed you over? I’m also with them and currently looking elsewhere.. not sure whether to stay or go.
@@J98B I couldn’t login into my account and once I reached out they didn’t want to help me.
@@J98Balso was screwed over distrokid after 5 years of consistent membership. gonna look into toolost or cdbaby seems good as well
@@J98Bwhere u went ?
Thank you sooo much for this video. Looks like I'll be switching distributors soon. You have me hyped about Too Lost.
I’m here because of Cam and Mase… saw Too Lost on their platform…💪🏾🔥
I love too lost I been with them for 2 months
Thank you for this. Much appreciated!

FYI - PRIORITY ACCOUNTS:
10.3 Following Your initial release of music, You agree that We shall have a first right of refusal for all subsequent music releases during the term of Your Priority Account. For clarity purposes, this means that when You desire to release any music during Your Priority Account Term, You will release it on the Platform, unless:
1) You send Us a written request that You want to release the project with a third party and
2) We send You written notice that You may release the project with a third party (and We will specify any conditions, holdbacks, or restrictions that apply).
So, When tf did distributors become record labels??
where you find this?
Distributors have slowly started to become hybrid label and distro. As a Priority Artist you get access to their label services for free. You can also get advanced funding from them. You need to be at a certain level to get priority access.
Okay that soundcloud monetization is big!
Could you please help breakdown Amuse this way? I would really appreciate it
You did excellent in your findings Wes! They also offer Publishing Administration so you can be registered to the Mechanical Collection societies (HFA, MCL etc), instead of having to register with Sentric or Songtrust separately. Previously the only distributors that offered it in house was/is Tunecore publishing and CD baby publishing. I'm sold on this aspect along as I am the artist and the songwriter.
Do the publishing administration your self you don’t need a middle man taking 21% for something you can do yourself. If you need help on diy or want me to do it for you hit me up
Okay I will reach out... Thanks! Does Too Lost take 21% though?
Does two lost music distributor register my music with charts companies around the world or is that service specific to US musicians?
I’m bout to move all my songs lol 😂
Does TooLost offer adding sync lyrics just like distrokid?
good question!
I have an update! You need to go through “Musixmatch Pro” and verify your account. If you are switching from DistroKid and have previously synced your lyrics there, you’ll find they are already part of your account. Musixmatch Pro is free, and the only cost would be if you outsource the lyric syncing process to someone else. If you want to create a lyric video, Musixmatch Pro can do that for you, but it requires payment. Otherwise, you can sync your lyrics and handle everything just as you did with DistroKid. It’s worth noting that while DistroKid has built-in integration with Musixmatch, TooLost does not offer this feature as of the time I am writing this.
YES they do!~!
Wes I really appreciate this information, I was trying to decide between distri and tune core, but after watching this, I’m definitely going with too lost because they help with copyright registration need that protection. Be blessed brother
Did you join it??? If yes how was experience ??
@@nizamkhan8066u joined anyway if so wassup

Their contests are not ran very professionally tho. There were constant date extensions for every step of the Collab For The Crown contest. Was originally supposed to be over in January and they just finished it last week 😂
I don't understand what u wer trying to say can u come again
Two of the features you say are unique to Too Lost are also on LANDR.
1. Releases stay up when you quit subscription (you keep 85%)
2. Cover Song licensing (one time fee of $14.99)
LANDR also has the benefit of being a preferred distributor for both Spotify and Apple Music.
Too Lost sounds great, but I'm hearing of far too many bad experiences using them. I guess if it sounds too good to be true, it's too good to be true!
TL has a long list of great 'benefits', but they seem to be totally letting everyone down big time.
LANDR seems more reliable.
Good to know
Please elaborate on the negatives. I’ve been using them with zero issues.
@@shawnpetrusich3917 I've heard there's been trouble with payouts and that you seem to be getting less per stream than with DistroKid. And some mistakes with uploads.
All hearsay though. If you've had a good experience with them that's good to know.
also emubands
Thank you for the info fam 🙏🏽
Wow... greenlist!
thanks for the breakdown
thansk for the video man but wow youre the only person ive ever seen who cleans their glasses less than me :)
Is there anything in the contract terms that looks suspect?
Somebody in another comment section claimed this distributor got "some bad reviews…" 🤷🏿♀️
Sharpline distribution they help with marketing ect!!
How do I fix a metadata issue on true lost. I was going through the process but it asks me to fix a meta data problem

How is it going ? Are they legit ? Do they actually pay you ?

You do not have to be apart of Too Lost to receive royalty splits.
very good
Please do Too Lost have an application that can be downloaded from Play store or apple store....
How is too lost not the most popular one?
wHAT ABOUT DITTO COMPARED TO TOO LOST?
Does Too Lost pay royalties based on the number of views on reels or the number of reels created on Facebook/Instagram?
[Too Lost] and [Symphonic] are the best distributors, in my opinion.
They both with the merlin network
not being on the "spotify recommended" list seems like a sign it might be good.
I am transitioning over gradually to Too Lost from another distributor! Excited to see how it goes!
How long does Too Lost take to pay you from the time you upload your first release??
How has your experience been so far?
How is going ? Are they legit ?
Sharpline distribution who has heard of them ?
Landr Studio Subscription also will get you a cover song licence for a $15.00 fee per track
Can u make a video on too lost RUclips monetize
Hey west if i av a few release with distrokid can switch to too lost and have all my body of work go over to too lost
Always appreciate your videos G 💯🇹🇹 I've signed up for too lost but as of now I only have a distribution service,I'm going to release my first song that I actually have a lease for the beat,I want to know if you recommend me still registering with BMI,Songtrust, soundexchange, the Mlc,before uploading my track up for distribution? Or can I proceed to upload with less registration elsewhere seeing that Too Lost provides soundechange, copyright.
Is copyrite and BMI to separate things?
Thank you blessings 🙏🏽
from what i know..IDEALLY you first COPYRIGHT your lyrics/song with the GOV to protect your work, then when you DISTRIBUTE a track you generate an ISPC. From there, you can REGISTER your song on your Performing Rights Org like BMI or ASCAP so they can collect your Songwriter Performance Royalties while Too Lost can collect Publishing Royalties and Recording Revenues along with SoundExchange to collect Digital Performance Royalties & Neighboring Rights. You can register with the MLC for free as well for Mechanical Royalties. THEN you SERVICE your record with SYNC Pitching and Playlisting (give yourself 4 weeks out from debut date to give enough time for DSPs & Curators to review & place)...somebody let me know if i missed something!
How did it go? Are you working with too lost now ? Are they legit ?
what about there artist advances?
If too lost wasn’t good T-Pain wouldn’t use it

reddit has bad reviews on reddit.
😂😂😂@@cryptocentercartel1264
I think those reviews were old ones. Looks like since Dame Ritter came on board they've really went next level.
ALL distibutors are defrauding their customers. Too Lost sounded very good, until you got to the cover song licensing scam. The instance a song is published, it has a compulsory license attached to it. This means that anyone can cover the song, and its creator can't prevent it (that’s the compulsory part). If a song is not previously published, it's not a cover.
There is simply no need to "check" if you have a "coversong license". If it is a cover, you have a compulsory license. If it's not a cover, you don't need one. If you record a song written by someone else, and it hasn't been previously published, it's NOT a cover!
The concept of "mechanical license" is often trown in to muddy the waters. It is true that you need a mechanical license if you sell physical media, or downloads from your web site. This is not so with the DSPs (Spotify, Amazon, Apple Music, etc) They all have licence agreements with the PROs of the world. They handle all royalty collection and patments. Reguardless of if it's a cover or an original song.
This missinforgation has it's origin with companies (such as Tunecore, DistroKid, Too Lost, etc.) that has financial incentives to rip you off. It is in clear violation of copyright law!
Selling something that you don't have the explicit right to sell, and/or have no way or intention to deliver, is also a criminal offence: Fraud!
If you don't argee, I might have a great deal on the Brooklyn Bridge for you.
A Compulsory License issued by the Library of Congress would only be issued if a song was already Published and the Publisher refused to issue a license to someone. Once a song is published, released for public consumption, anyone can record and release the song by paying the Mechanical License. Since your song has never been published, I assume, a Compulsory License cannot be issued by the Library of Congress.
@@dustinyamchuk7400 There is so much wrong here, that I hardly know where to begin.
1) The Compulsory License isn't issued by anyone. It is automatic! It's in place, the instant a song is published.
2) The Library of Congress has got absolutely nothing, what so ever, to do with it. Rhe LoC only administers copyright WITHIN the US. Nothing else. It has no say, what so ever, in how copyrights are handeled in other countries.
3) No payment of a "Mechanical License" is required to record and release a cover song. First: there is no such thing as a Mechanical License fee. What is, erroneously, refered to as such is a pre-payment to secure royalties for the copyrightholder. The major recordlabels are not subject to this pre-payment. It only applies to independents. (as usual, might makes right!). Second: It only applies to the manufacturing of physical media, and if you sell digital files by yourself. Streaming is considered as a performance, as far as cpoyright is concerned. No Mechanical License required!
4) "your song has never been published". Where did that come from? Who has said that my song has never been published? If that were the case, it wouldn't be a cover in the first place. It would be an original recording, and outside the scope of this discussion.
So your were wrong about EVERYTHING!
I agree with those who say that TooLost appears to be the best distributor. I just hope that they are the exeption to the rule; "if it looks too good to be true, it most likely is too good to be true".
@@svenisaksson3970 Laws are constantly changing and updating to respond to electronic/digital media advancements. You're referring to laws based on the pre-digital era of media. Those laws are being phased out because they don't address how modern media is consumed. A digital stream IS the current version of what used to be physical copies in previous generations. Times change, man.
@@Red_Black_Key "Times change, man." But physics doesn't!
When you buy a mechanical for physical media, you are limited to a specific number of units you can manufacture. How do do you limit the number of downloads/streams? You're correct about laws being changes to follow the times, However you're wrong about who's living in the past.
"Mechanical" licenses for downloads and sreams are handles by the PRO's. All the online stores (Apple Musib, Spotify, Amazon, etc.) has agrements with them. The distributors are commiting fraud, by charging their clients for nonexcisting liceses!
I you don't beieve me, I may have a great deal on the Brooklyn Bridge, for you. 😉
@@svenisaksson3970 You can be a stickler about the semantics all you want (and you're right....linguististically). But you still are avoiding the obvious: digital stream are the modern EQUILAVENT to what used to be tangible "mechanically produced" items in previous generations.
Now who's living in the past? 😆
