My name is WesTheTech and I'm a music producer and recording artist who owns his own music business and recording studio. I am an expert at making hip-hop music as well as running a successful full-time business. Have you ever dreamed about doing music full-time? What’s stopping you? Is it that day job you have? I completely understand. I had those same problems as well. Back in 2011, my first independent music career failed. After years of working at that job, I realized through God's teachings that the reason I wasn't doing music full-time was that I wasn't working towards that goal every day.
I realized that there were not going to be any shortcuts to this. I needed to figure out how to (1) make more money "legally" and (2) invest money in the RIGHT places so that I could successfully build an independent music business from the ground up. After a few years of figuring those things out, I was able to quit my job and do music full-time.
And now I want to show you how to do the same thing. And that's why I created WesTheTech Productions, a company that empowers independent recording artists to build a full-time music business so they no longer have to work outside of their craft.

I just moved to Symphonic. Their music transfer from other platforms is so good! It imports all metadata from other platforms. Then you just add the audio file.

Hey! To clarify, I have no sponsors and I don’t get paid to talk about these different distribution companies. Unfortunately, distribution companies don’t always remain the same. Their prices and policies change regularly, which is why a make a new video every year. The video I did with Tunecore was years ago

I’ve just read through the Symphonic digital agreement before signing it and it said that ‘the artist will keep 85% of the royalties’ so you’re lying when you say you keep 100%.
Not the best or most honest advice mate.
The Starter Plan per their terms keeps 100% of the streaming royalties and 70% of UGC royalties. Their partner plan on the other hand has custom percentages, which is the agreement you may have been sent.

Some say there's a middleman between Distrokid and you, the name in Merlin who gets a percent before Distro , so don't get and actual 100% royalties??

I might be wrong, but a big point missed. Symphonic has a 1 artist plan. At least it says that in the FAQ. You can still split, but if you collab on an album, one of you are going to be a feature & not listed as a second primary. So that $20 is the same as Distrokid. Wish I didn’t know this, one of the reasons I’m watching right now is trying to jump ship & DK is making it very frustrating (not adhering to their instructions)
literally the only thing that holds me back from DistroKid & Symphonic. if the primary artist thing matters to you that much you can try Too Lost or Venice Music.
Venice Music can get a bit pricey tho (60 USD / year) but you get music videos included with it

it’s not included in the cheapest plan. distrokid has a thing where they don’t let you add additional primary artists for free, meaning if you want to add a primary artist you’ll have to get the musician plus plan. on top of that, to add another primary artist, you need to add it into the artist slot of your account
(example: if you get the musician plus, you can distribute for “two” artists, but if you collaborate with someone and add them as a primary artist you’ll end up taking the second artist slot as well.)

I wanted to ask if you could check out a distribution company called illustrate music. of all the companies I’ve seen they seem to actually be the most favourable to the artist and they don’t take legacy fees either. I’ve only seen literally 2 people cover them and I’m still looking for a distributor myself so I just wanted to be as informed as I can 🙏
This is a scam dnt go with illustrate they take fee and after your first release they will ban you.

@@Uptxwn-Nai i bought their plan of 15$ and 6 days ago i uploaded my album of 6 7 songs and yesterday i got email from them. We rejected your releases and even they dnt tell the reason . they just tell 5 6 possibly reasons. After that they ban you and you can not log in your account any more. So 15$ Wasted.
