I think the cutest way to build this is just a sneaky Maze's End deck. Don't even run any of the other gates so people don't see it coming. Just plop the counters on lands with different names, Maze's End, win the game!

    • @amodking
      @amodking 4 месяца назад

Problem is the speed of doing it, takes what 8-9 turns? That’s if the commander can hit someone every turn. I think the ideal situation is flicker effects. To speed up this alternative win condition. As in unblockable effects like rogues passage then end step flicker to double the counters.
Most gate cards are pretty slow anyway so this is a good idea anyway.

@@amodking actually if you have something like a mana bank (like the god that got shown in the video) and a cloudpost + vesuva (or copy land or thespians stage (set to copy cloudpost) or mana reflection) and maybe a way to give her hast such as the boots you can afford to place her and attack each turn as you would generate at least 2 more colorless for each locus you have and new land becoming locus means that, also you can search for planar nexus with gate end if you didn't have it already so that's another way to accelerate it (also the ammount of ramp such as uro or the one to search 2 lands and placing onto the battlefield is gonna make this go crazy)

I think mirage mirror can be a versatile keep for this deck and enable a larger amount of mana later in the game for those X spells. Spending 2 to turn it into another cloudpost could net you a positive of 7-8+ mana later in the game. I was thinking of it more that it's a good funnel to make more mana with extra utility.

I have looked at this deck for all of the mana synergies with Everything Counters, Urza lands and Mana Reflections. A player in my play group is the best at generating mana and has built multiple decks which do that.
I think my card I would add in would be Nyxbloom Ancient and lean into the mana increases to support keeping Omo in play. If she gets removed then it takes away the everything counters. Having tens or hundreds of mana means you can always replay her.

I should win this deck because I'd like to take an approach with this deck that I'm not sure many people are taking and that will hopefully inspire others to do the same. I'd like to focus on Typal. I want to use as many typal cards as possible to monopolize on the everything tokens, while still having a few win cons up my sleeve.
Since I'm focusing on creatures and their types, I will put some of the land-oriented effects to the wayside and focus more on lords and bonuses that reward us for having these creatures hang out on the battlefield.
Here's a few of the cards that I'm adding in:
Coat of Arms (Cool math games)
Herald of Hoofbeats (Look at my horse!)
Master of the Pearl Trident, Hakbal of the Surging Soul, and Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca (Beach Bois)
Baru, Wurmspeaker (Think Dune, but not really)
Manaweft, Gemhide, Synapse, and Galerider Sliver (SLIVERS!!!)
I'm also adding in some of these cards to support the deck's strategies in general:
Aven Courier (Please read this card if you haven't already!)
Multiclass Baldric (Party cards are fun)
    Whelming Wave (wwwwwWipeout!)
As for the cards that will be taken out, I think most of the lands matter strategy will take a back burner, and many of the new cards from the deck will have to find homes somewhere else, but I'm sure that this approach to Omo will be unique and fun enough to give inspiration for a build using the backup commander soon!
Thank you for the video and I hope (even if this comment isn't chosen) that this get people brainstorming on some ideas of their own!

I'd swap out the Replication Technique for a Bonny Pall, Clearcutter. It'll give you 2 big bodies, one with reach, the other gets bigger the more lands you have. Then Bonny's ability will let you draw a card an put a land from your hand or the graveyard on the field when you attack with anything. They seem to fit the theme well.

This is the deck that fully, 100% justifies my stanning Amulet of Vigor. I borrowed a copy of this deck, and all I can say, is that my other 3 lands decks pale in comparison, and I could go an entire event weekend with this and Disa in my Quiver and feel fully loaded. The only changes I made (and would make should I be super lucky) were to remove the secondary commander (Jyoti), the Sol Ring, and a Forest to add in the Amulet of Vigor, a Bident of Thassa and a Conduit of Worlds.

  • @MasterHyperionMC

I love the feel of this deck, land-based decks that aren’t just landfall are really interesting to me, and I love the idea of running the Urza’s lands in an EDH deck.
Honestly, my first thought on changes is if we want to get a decent number of everything counters going we want ways to make our 1/5 keyword-less commander reliably attack, so my first cut and replace would be cutting Quandrix Campus (just a bad land, imo) for Access Tunnel. Also I’d want to add Maze’s End cos it would be funny to make that work, so probably cut the Thornwood Falls. Nonland I’d add Xolatoyac from the Merfolk Caverns precon, that seems like it could do good work in this, probably cut Tatyova for it.

  • @OmegaSD18

My adds: Bonny Pall, Spelunking, and World Shaper.
My cuts: Jyoti, Summary dismissal, and Harmonize.
I hope I win this deck for two reasons:
    1) I played MTG in the early 2000s, took an 18 year break, and was reintroduced to MTG in 2021 when some friends got me into EDH! One of the biggest things I've learned since then is how important mana base/good lands are, and this deck has a bunch to help me get a good collection of lands!
    2) An under-built commander I want to build is Nine-Fingers Keene. Lots of good cards from this deck that play well into that one.
Thanks for your content, just found this channel and look forward to looking at past videos too.

I honestly just want this so I can grow my deck collection and because I think this is by far the coolest precon in MH3 that has been shown. I only have two other decks as I have just recently gotten into magic a month or two ago, and due to that I may also be terribly wrong in what I would replace, but I feel like it would make the deck more enjoyable. I personally would replace Seer’s sundial for Aesi, tyrant of Gyre straight, just to add an extra land drop every turn as well as not having to pay two to draw everytime a land etb’s.

  • @_Blu_Print_
    @_Blu_Print_ 4 месяца назад +1

I do agree with what you've subtracted from the deck. Kind of going off a multitribal idea would be adding things like Descendant's Path to get creatures out for free. If hydras are being played for a lot of x cost, hooded hydra is always excellent. A card like genesis wave might come in handy, but it's a risk for the X costing 0. On the blue side, maybe instead of doppelgang, add in a rite of replication? It costs less for the initial copy, and then for 4 more, you can get 5 copies of a creature instead, which would cost 15 extra mana on doppelgang.
I will admit that I do not have so much card knowledge to add a lot off the top of my head.. but those just seem like fun additions.

Out of the four, this deck is the one I'd consider the best. I feel like a strategy that can abuse the different land types would be fun to explore. Adding in cards like Maze's End and the Baldur's Gate gate lands would add a pretty satisfying wincon. Plus, I'd like to see how much mana output we could get Urza's Workshop and the locus lands can get to. 😊

  • @ssmmeeaarrggllee
    @ssmmeeaarrggllee 4 месяца назад

This is the deck I'm more excited about, it's so original I love Omo's ability and I'd really love to get my hands on it. The very first card I would include is Life From The Loam, I'd like to take advantage of the variety of land types abilities on this deck, so to me the best way to either get the Urzatron, or the Locus strategy, or some nice deserts is by having access to them through the graveyard. So a ton of self mill and play lands from your graveyard effects which we've got a few new in the past couple years.
The first card to take out, I think it would be Hydra Broodmaster, the deck already has a good number of finishers and I try to always look at the bigger drops for cuts, among the big guys in here Hydra doesn't really interact much with landrops other than being a mana sink, so that would be the card to take out.
Thanks for the opportunity :) and very nice video

I love the idea of the everything counter as a way to enable typal effects. I used to have a Grolnok, the Omnivore deck, which I eventually ended up taking apart just because there wasn't enough very strong frogs in simic colors to make the deck function well. With Omo's counters and ways to generate big mana, it is making me want throw Grolno in the deck as a secret commander. Then just find a bunch of other typal/lord effects that make some actual/evasive deadly frogs/sliver/merfolk/hydra/etc creatures, and ways to untap my lands/creatures to keep defenses up.
I would likely cut a lot of the landfall and some of the X spells. The subcommander from the deck is actually the perfect cut for me from this deck, as I have a man-lands deck with Jolrael, Voice of Zhalfir that what slot perfectly into.

Baldur’s gate and Academy Ruins feel like a good fit for this - and dare I say Oko, the Ringleader as a way to help protect your board or build up some treasures for a rainy turn. Absolutely agree on helm of the host, too. Maybe mask of memory as well?

Right off the bat, I'm takin out the landfall stuff. Im putting in Staff of Ages definetely. For this deck, i love the concept of how versatile lands are and would focus heavily on that. I would drop the Hydroid Krasis and replace it with reshape the earth. This is a obvious late game card, but the absolute menacing board state you would bring by fetching lands such as dark depths and copying it. You have other options with the desserts that have become stronger than ever before. As a bonus card to think about, i would remove nissa and add constructed safeguard.

I think adding a layer to getting landfall triggers on opponents' turns would be really fun and novel in this deck, and enable some really memorable turns. It’s unconventional, it’s weird, different, and seems to be the underdog in this release and I’d rather win being creative than playing with super broken decks. I would build this as a more creatures and Lords tribal focused deck. So I would add cards like Pheres Band Warchief and take out a few that don’t move that mission forward as well or efficiently, like Acidic Slime or the plainswalkers that wouldn’t work with the everything counters. Oh man this one I'm most excited for. #1 addition: Multiclass Baldric. Have not been able to really utilize this card but with this deck it should be easy. Would also add Helm of the Host, Blossoming Tortoise, Peer Pressure, Maskwood Nexus, Shifting Sliver and lastly Spawning Kraken. The Kraken especially seems really cool; attack with another Kraken and get a free 9/9 token.. hell yes brother. Shifting Sliver for the unblockable creatures and the rest are just kinda nice to haves. Peer Pressure seems really sweet against for example an Eldrazi deck (assuming I have a ton of creatures on the board - which will also be Eldrazi).

My favorite deck of the new 4! I liked the upgrades though I'd consider taking out goose mother but that's just me. In my upgrade path I kept going on the land path with a focus on tokens/ value the everything counters gave. I've seen others using slivers and other anthem style effects you can do too with boosting your creatures. Last big upgrade I'd add is the helm of the host! Even more everything counters and omo deserves having her crown!

Would love this deck, it has everything I like, ramp, x abilities/cost, big creatures, and endless possibilities for combos. I'm a huge fan of Hydras and this is perfect with already having some big Hydras and room to add a few more to really make an almost a full Hydra tribal deck which is what I'm actually working towards making. I'd definitely throw in an Unnatural Growth to double the P/T during each combat

  • @janstella7839

...the deck is full of value, but it's really strange from my POV; Omo has such a strange effect to evaluate, people won't focus your commander probably and she will stay alive for a lot, and I would like to use her ability in a better way, focusing on making creatures better; currently the deck is more focused om lands, which isn't bad, but it does need some way to spice things up, maybe with "lords tribal", The smiling Flood and some ways to gain even more value from the counters. I would search something in New Capenna set, as iirc brokers had the "counter" sinergies. I wouldn't use the alt-commander, but he would be awesome in an elemental landfall build, with Risen Reef and Zwndikar's Roil, I would love to play a deck that does this.

I have always wanted to build both copy type effects and land tribal decks. This sort of merges the two together. Something that I'll put in is [[Scion of Draco]]. A 2 drop that gives hexproof and trample? Yes, please. I'll probably take out [[chromatic lantern]] since it's sort of redundant with Omo, and it's less needed in a 2 color deck.

I think this Deck can be so versatile Where you can put any good Card from each tribal into the Deck slivers elfes etc. You can be so Creative thats what is Great about the Deck maybe Even Double the triggers from omo But whats missing here is some Protection for Omo since the everything counters dont work without her so whispersilk cloak is a Must have since it gives Protection and makes her able to Attack to trigger her again would remove seer sundial because it is too expensive for draw (multiclass baldric is a Great Addition aswell)

  • @scottp7467

Oh man, so many versions of this I would love to try. I think the direction l like most is using niche tribal lords and boosts with the changeling effect more than the land side. My top card to put in is Feline Sovereign, I love the idea of having protection from dogs and then making my opponents stuff dogs with everything counters. Treasure Cruise is my easy first drop, I'm never going to be excited to see it.

This Simic decks has a load of potential. The lands are beautifully and well included (except Maze's End, comeon, where is it?)
I think other than lands, the other cards are not what I would have included as it's more of a landfall themed.
Omo will give the land and creatures everything counter. I would take out most of the nonlands and replace all those creature type matters. Such as, Slivers has one of the best cards for synergy. Elves, Merfolks are another. These will massively increase the chances of winning. With so much land options, we can play a janky card like Monument to Perfection.

My thoughts for this deck is to make it into an everything tribal with lords and blink. Might as well make use of the everything lands with a cheesy maze's end win with reshape the earth. Tempt with discovery could also help with churning out urza lands or even do the thespian stage + dark depths combo.

I'd splash some "changeling payoff" in the deck so you can fully use Omo's ability, like Galerider Sliver or Lord of the Unreal to give fly/hexproof to your board. I think I'd also try Multiclass Baldric for fun :D
What about Domain? As far as my understanding goes you have the five basic types as long as you have a single counter, so I guess you can run Collective Restraint, maybe Evasive Action (domain cards kinda suck actually).
I was building a Volo deck and this commander totally ruins my hopes :D Your swaps are cool, I'm just not sure I'd keep the Frogantua cause it makes you a prime target if someone has an opportunity to kill one single opponent, but idk, the second effect is nice.

This was a deck I was interested as soon as I saw the art, that she was wearijg helm of the host. At first I was super dissapointed in the everything counter thene because I was really hoping for some kind of copy themed deck.
After giving it tike though I have brewed up some 'upgrades' basically changing out the lands matter theme in place of random lords like Lord of the Unreal and usual suspects like manaweft sliver to make all my creatures do everything.

This precon to me is the more focused of the pack, BUT nonetheless It still has bit of space for some NEAT upgrades. First of, switch Simic Nissa for Nissa Who Shakes the World, her +1 and passive ability synergize pretty well with the everyting counters. Second, a bit more of Landfall support with a Lotus Cobra (cut Floriferous Vinewall) and World Shaper (cut Hydra Broodmaster) and Third, but not less important, cut Seer's Sundial for Conduit of Worlds, being able to restock on lost lands or a key permanent late game to win, can be crucial.

I always wanted to build a tribal tribal deck and from my Perspektive, this is the perfect commander for it!
I would combine this with mass Land Animation because the animated Lands are all creature Typen with an everything counter already!
The best card for this would be "ambush commander" or "life and limb". Another good Inklusion is "Nissa, who shakes the world".
For a bordwipe i would inklude cards like "spectral deluge" or "engulf the shore"
In the end i would add many Lords. My favorite one is "Lord of the unreal" and "scion of ooana", "timber protector" to protect the commander. Other Lords would be tindershoot dryad or Lord of atlantis
An evil Addition would be "spreading algae", since you are able to put everything counters on opponents Lands.
For Cuts i would remove propaganda since this is a creature jeavy deck and mana reflection. The Lords would replace smaller unnessesary creatures.
Hope this gives a little insight in my deck idea :)

I dont think Chromatic Lantern is necessary in the deck. Omo makes lands all types which helps with fixing, and it's only a 2 color deck anyway. I wanted to find something fun to interact more with Omo making creatures all types since the deck focuses more on the lands aspect. I'd want to include Coat of Arms, it seems like it would be a lot of fun with Omo's ability.
