    This deck I 100% knew what I wanted to add immediately - Living Death. I've been running that in darn near every black deck I've made since Tempest, and it has been making some of my favorite goofy terms since forever. To swap it in I'd drop Tempt with Mayhem because I just feel like it is less on-theme than Living Death.

    One card that I'll be adding to my own Disa deck that I don't see enough people talking about is Matzalantli, the Great Door // The Core. It'll put Lhurgoyfs into play with Disa on board and draw you a replacement card. Its backside also ramps you a ton in a deck that dumps cards into the graveyard. And worst case, it counts as an artifact in the graveyard to grow the Goyfs.

    It's really great seeing revival of an old modern staple with Tarmogoyf! I'd definitely go more heavily into mill in the upgrade as I love me some mill. Disa provides loads of value for a mill deck and turns cards like Buried Alive in to a fetch for 3 Lhurgoyf creatures straight to the battlefield. and when you toss in a few unblockables and a couple token doublers it looks like it would get out of hand ridiculously fast

  • @DoNotPassGO
    @DoNotPassGO 25 дней назад +1

    Recently added Doubling Season to this deck to help go extra wide. Grist is an absolute must, not just for the tokens, but for the mill. And at worst it's a planeswalker that gets milled and adds to all the base Lhurgoyfs' power and toughness.

    They said this one was the worst but it's got so many good cards in it. I love the Lhurgoyf Kindred theme for this. I'd also throw in Maskwood Nexus and Conspiracy to make everything goyfs and then some other Goyf adjacent creatures like Lord of Extinction, Splinterfright, and Revenant. Sounds like a blast to me.

    Mausoleum Secrets. Honestly, the most underrated tutor imo, it's great in decks that care about creatures in the graveyard, it's instant speed into hand, only 2 mana and it's extremly budget (Only around a buck atm).

    Hey boss good to hear from another southern friend. lovely vod. Since your twitter post asked ill go ahead and add my two cracker barrel receipts for cuts and additions.
    Ill try try to keep all replacement cards around 2$ as the precon is already a little up there in price and i dont want people to have to bend over backwards to play this cool deck out of the box.
    Using the base precon list as a reference, The first thing i noticed with the precon is that it doesn't really give us enough ways to put the goyfs in the yard so lets change that
    first off im cutting all of the plainswalkers all three are trying to do different things that dont fit smoothly with the goyfs and their bayou brothers and aside from gist theyre also on the pricier end of the mana curve---3 slots
    next from the creatures I cut Brawn (anger is the only incarnation in our color slice worth running imo), Burnished Heart (too slow), Graveshifter(too expesnive for effect and is not preferred reanimate target), Izoni ( too expensive and doesnt consistently hit a huge amount of bugs since our goyfs will be flying out of our yard on queue) Yavimaya and Sakura tribe elder ( we have better ways of ramping and retrieving lands), and Siege gang lieutenant ( i want more consistent token generation that isnt dependent on Disa being out)--------7 slots
    with those 10 slots lets add
    the 3 missing sub 1$ goyfs that wotc strangely didnt put in the deck and the OG goyf itself (the fallout version seems to be the cheapest go get that one)---4 slots (if you pull the new mythic goyf good on ya and put it on in)
    The king of dredge lords the Golgari grave troll ( one of the best cards to consistently proc Disa), Aftermath analyst (dig through the deck with a large ramp upside yes plz), Tato farmer (land acceleration with passive rad counter accumulation to help proc disa every turn), Patient Naturalist ( more mil with double ramp upside if you create a treasure instead)--4 slots
    Brass tunnel grinder (a hand filter whose flipside can produce explosive turns to end games) and collectors vault (hand filtering and treasure generation) - 2 slots
    Hey a bunch of stuff is gonna be leaving our yard lets have cards that benefit that
    Cuts: Riveters charm ( we want to play from yard not exile other effects not good enough for cost), Reaver cleaver (out of place gear with pricey eq cost) Altar the of goyf (heresy i know but it feels like more of a voltron card than what we want) Selvala (we aint huggin it out here)--4 slots
    In: Insidious roots (cycling goyfs from yard creates a growing plant army that produces mana and can end games) Chalk outline ( growing 2/2 army that produces clues for supplemental draw) desecrated tomb ( growing army of elusive flyers) Izomi center of the web (whole package of draw, surveil, tokens, and healing)--4 slots
    lets upgrade the removal
    Cuts: Bituminous Blast, maelstrom pulse, kolasghans command, syphon mind- 4 slots
    In: feed the swarm, lethal scheme, overwhelming remorse, urgent necropsy - 4 slots
    and finally
    Cut: the the tapped dual and cycle lands -5 slots
    IN: bojuka bog, promising vein, cultivate, kodamas reach, farseek
    thanks for the guide!

    I think the change that first comes to mind when seeing this deck is just to put in a Hermit Druid and changing the mana base so I get as many cards in the graveyard as possible so I can get ALL THE LHURGOYS in play. Also just noticed that there are very few Lhurgoyds so maybe jank like Ashes of the Fallen can be used effectively in this deck

    So excited for this one! Incurrently play Sauron Reanimator and kinda fell in love with the graveyard playstyle. The precon needs a bit more tutors or reanimations imo. Would add buried alive, entomb, probably some more looting + discard cards - self mill stuff. More lhurgoyf boys too!

    I love the idea of this deck, I got all 4 precons in a bundle and I might keep this one as the same decklist. If I did upgrade it I'd add a lot you did, with some tutors, tutors to the graveyard like entomb in your list. I like the shapeshifters you added too, I think the deck could really have anything if you add more dedicated ways to find maskwood nexus. I'm excited to see how this deck grows with new brews!

    Graveyard/Gofy tribal seems fun. I ended up getting all the upgrades I wanted before the deck came out but I still haven’t pulled the trigger on buying the deck yet.

    I really like grevyaard recursion, and for be sure to optimise Disa i would include in the deck "masked nexus" and "conspiracy" for lhurgoyf creature type, plus the classical token multiplier of green like parallel lives or doubling season. I would remove some land, gluttonous hellkite and infested thrinax.

    I’m looking to retool my heavy reanimator Henzie and I think there is great overlap using Coram as the lead. I’m looking forward to using Ripples of Undeath from MH3. Main win con will be mass reanimation (breach/living death/etc). This will be a great home for Stickfingers to fill the yard for future necromancy :)

  • @Blazin4sure
    @Blazin4sure Месяц назад +1

    Varolz would be very juicy in this deck with Coram if you GY tutor the right fuel. With Buried Alive, you can tutor Malignus, Varolz, and Death's Shadow to pull off the good ole (13) +1 counter scavenge combo with 1 black pip to give Coram 13 counters on top of Malignus' power. Phyrexian Dreadnought is also another fueler for the GY for Coram if you got the money for it. Could also expect to use a Protean Hulk as a second Buried Alive to search for Death's Shadow, Phyrexian Dreadnought, and another combo enabler; since they will bury themselves most likely on etb.

    As long as Maskwood Nexus is kept in the deck people can focus more on the self milling creatures into the graveyard and cheat them out thanks to Disa and Maskwood both being out, I did this to get triggers off of Syr Konrad, while still being able to cheat out my creatures, and came close to beating my friend's Sheoldred the Apocalypse deck and only lost due to them forcing card draw on me

    This deck is so amazing but I would easily add Tarmogoyf because it shouldve been part of the precon. I would also fix the mana base, add some triomes and some shock lands to help with the mana fix. I'd remove bituminous blast to add Burgeoning for faster ramping. I want to have Disa on the battlefield as fast as possible to make use of her ability using self mill.

    Graveyard synergies and Tarmogoyf's, gosh darnit I'm in! Like the mechanics of Coram, the Undertaker to get the graveyard buisness underway. Throw in a nice Breach the Multiverse (personal favorite jank card haha) and a Life from the Loam and were off toi to the races :) Cheers

    As a player that just started playing mtg last year, i was surprised by this deck mostly because goyfs are so rare it seems. Ive only every seen one card caring about that type and it was a random goyf altar card i opened one time.

  • @jordanedmonds6154
    @jordanedmonds6154 Месяц назад +2

    I'm adding the original tarmogoyf and the new nethergoyf to keep this on theme. In addition i'd add other types of cards to sacrifice other creatures for value like altar of dementia to help make the goyf tokens and creatures in the deck larger. Then i'd use glaring spotlight and other effects to help make creatures unblockable and go wide with more goyf tokens maybe 🤔

    • @bzarcher
      @bzarcher Месяц назад

      Ashnod’s altar would be a good way to turn creatures to mana to help pump up your creatures and throw some of the bigger cost cards out unexpectedly.

  • @TheCookieCoolMan
    @TheCookieCoolMan Месяц назад +1

    That undertaker bell was very tasty. I see Disa as a token generator first and a goyf cheat second tbh.
    I think a mask wood nexus would allow for a little more/better mill and evasive threat options with the cheat ability being more relevant again. Speaking of shape shifters, Changeling outcast and realmwalker are no brainers. A perpetual timepiece in case you run out of recursion or as protection from graveyard hate is a must in mill decks imho. Grim flayer is a stinky two drop for this deck he scry, he grow but most importantly, he trample! Another interesting add, similar to Konrad would be war storm surge a bit expensive but with all those Tarmogoyf drops potentially very stinky. Another very good card in any graveyard deck with green is Smugglers surprise. It lets you selectively mill, potentially cheat creatures AND protects your board from wipes. It literally does it all! Love that card. Same goes for undergrowth recon just casually bring back a milled land on every upkeep for only three mana... In this economy!?! Take out some of the dorks for those maybe. If there's space, a few more goyfs like terra for sure!
    As for cuts,
    Accursed Marauder has to go, Steve has to go, anger is okay but I think we can do better, siege gang is just straight up bad. Junji is also not that great in this. With all the cheating and the cheap drops creating tokens I don't think you'll need that much ramp. The mana base could use some adjustments too maybe, imho. It think it's always cool when they try to bring some synergy to a small tribe but you always end up substituting with shape shifters in the end and everyone has half of the same deck list sadly... Still you found some bangers like buried alive. Good job sir! Also Highway robbery does exactly the same thing as thrill of possibility but you get to plot it as a sorcery and bitter reunion does the same again but you get to give a creature haste it triggers graveyard stuff because it needs to be sacrificed, but it's an enchantment. Do with that information what you may but I urge you to check the recursion spells you're running, to see which one of these three would be best suited for your deck.

    • @TheCookieCoolMan
      @TheCookieCoolMan Месяц назад

    I can only afford one right now and it's probably going to be Tricky Terrain, It's really hard passing on this though, it reminds me so much of decks I used to play and I love all the graveyard synergy. I'm also sad about the lack of Lhurgoyf numbers but glad to see the new ones, the myriad one especially looks fun. I'd probably run Doors of Durin to cheat things in on attack, changelings can turn on the dwarf and elf part as a bonus. I also need to add Bonehoard as an honourary Lhurgoyf, it might not trigger off the commander's ability but it certainly synergizes with the deck.
    I'd probably drop the Burnished Hart or the Ignoble Heirarch, not sure the deck needs them and I'd rather focus on the deck themes a bit more.

    This is the deck I’ve been waiting forever for. I love Jund and love graveyard shenanigans. I’d take it into the maximum amount of graveyard matters stuff. Matzalanti, the Great Door is one card I think deserves a slot for sure for being able to tap for a buttload in a deck like this. I’d run more dredge, I think since it already runs Dakmor Salvage I’d toss in Gitrog Monster and those win lines here. Hermit Druid, Tyvar the Jubilant, Corpse Lunge, songs of the damned. So many great options here.
    Loved the direction y’all took the deck in by focusing on the Goyf-typal. It does seem like a narrow direction in my opinion ONLY because that type is only so deep, but I think it’s a novel way to build especially given the commander. I might have tossed in some of the Kindred cards that let really lean into Goyfing around.
    Goodluck to everyone for the giveaway contest. Thanks again for the content and the opportunity. ✌🏼

Artifact wise I think id just drop the cleaver, it's a weird add and I think cheap self mill is better than the treasure. Selvala seems a bit out of place to, good card just kinda off theme. Adds i feel like Hermit Druid is one I'm not seeing talked about a lot, he can be a bit clunky but he can also just mass fill a grave so quickly. Undead butler is a nice budget add. Reanimate and oversold cemetery are nice for recursion. Def think the deck needs more shapeshifters

    Just happened to stumble across this video. I'm definitely gonna add conspiracy and morality shift. If you have your commander and conspiracy or maskwood nexus our and cast morality shift you will put every creature in your deck into play and Pyrogoyf will see them all enter lol

    I would add in some artifacts that mill other players to increase the types of things you could play.

    I kind of want to use the alternate commander as a reanimator deck. He looks like he’d be awesome.

    love the vid! I am pretty new to magic and i never saw this type of creature so it would be nice to test it out. I think I would put more mill piece in the deck like mesmeric orb and some piece like morality shift and anger for some really big turn! The addition of shapeshifters is a good idea!

    Love the breakdown and definitely one of the underrated ones from the set! I would definitely try to add some Liliana zombie based cards like Liliana's Mastery, Liliana, Dreadhorde General, or Liliana, Death's Majesty for that sweet synergy!

    I’m definitely running the alternate commander, coram the undertaker. I really want to play him with the bloodchief ascension/mindcrank combo.

    Graveyard recursion is one of my favorite archetypes. I’d throw a planeswalker or two in just because I like planeswalker mechanics

    This is by far one of the coolest MH3 precons coming out! For me, I would definitely change out Changeling outcast for doubling season, especially with all of the +1/+1's involved with this deck. I feel like it would be so much fun to play, and I'm honestly really excited to see how Gluttonous Hellkite plays!

    I'm a long time player (started at 12 or 13 - I'm 33 now) and am getting beck into commander with this deck. I, too, immediately decided GOYF TRIBAL as soon as I saw this since Modern Jund was my dream deck back in 2014 but goyfs / etc were way too pricey for me to buy in. I really like your choices for additions and it felt validating that we had similar thought lines. I'm adding Conspiracy and Ashes of the Fallen to help make everything else a goyf as well, because I've decided to keep the dragons in as a secondary stompy plan. I'm also going to add in a doubling season for extra token generation but it may be too clunky. Now I just gotta find a game store to cop the precon from that isn't charging over street value ;)
    Thanks for sharing this video! Your presentation is great and it was an instant like / subscribe for me - regardless of the giveaway. I look forward to more commander content!!!!!!
    **I ALMOST FORGOT! I'm adding a Coat of Arms to make them all way bigger since I'll have tools to make every creature a goyf

    Jund is my absolute favorite and I’d make two decks out of this. I already have a Henzie deck thats my main deck and I’d pull out the Gluttonous Hellkite for him. Then I’d make two decks with both Disa and Coram. I’m sure they’ll print more new Lurgoyfs so eventually Disa would get new toys but I’d probably add some dredge to her for now. Coram looks really fun and I’d just add big power creatures to him like Yargle and Multani, normal Yargle, and Titanoth Rex. Reanimator package to get back creatures and I think Syr Konrad would be killer with all the mill going on. Thanks for doing this giveaway, good luck everyone
