  • YAFI: You Asked For It comparison review - Walther CCP M2 in 380 ACP versus the Sig Sauer P365 in .380acp. The Walther CCP originally came out in 9mm with an annoying takedown procedure (Side note - We were the 1st channel to do an independent review on it when it first came out!) After a few months or so, Walther did a recall on that original. I no longer had it though, as a local FFL had it and I had something different. Walther then redesigned the takedown procedure for cleaning, etc., and it is now the M2 version. Then after a while they came out with the 380 verson. SIg Sauer released the original P365 in 9mm and without an optic cut. Later versions, like the XL had an optic cut available. And recently, they came out with the 380ACP version, which is in this video. For full reviews of everything shown in this video, see our links below:

    The p365 380 shoots like a 22LR and I have small hands.
It was a pleasure to shoot and it’s a tack driver because of it.
I prefer it over my G42 because it’s a little thicker and has more capacity.
    Good review.
    Shout out from Michigan.

Hello Hammer Striker, and thanks for another great review! I have the Sig P365-380 and I like it quite well. Before taking it to the range for the first time, I dry-fired it maybe 50 times, then I field stripped it and cleaned and LIGHTLY oiled it. At the range I fired a combination of Blazer Brass FMJ, Sig-Sauer Elite flat nose FMJ, Ammo Inc. JHP, Hornady Critical Defense, and Underwood Xtreme Defense for a total of 400 rounds without a single issue of any type. The only thing about the gun that I don't like are the sights...The dots present themselves as gray during the day, but in semi dark to dark conditions the tritium dots are too small for me and I actually lose the front sight. Next payday I'm going to replace the sights with a pair of XS-Big Dots.

First!!! I like the easy to rack of the Walther, but I like the Sig better. It seems higher quality when you handle both.

Oh there's no question which one is higher quality. The CCP is made in the Umarex factory. The barrel might be a genuine Walther barrel, but the rest of the gun is pure airsoft quality.

Interesting video. We had no idea the Walther had a magazine disconnect. We agree with your comments on the magazine disconnect.
Great review thank you for sharing your videos 🙏

Love my P365 380. Very light weight and easy to shoot. Mine is very ammo sensitive. I finally found one that doesn’t give it issues, but it took some money to figure it out. AMMO Inc 100Gr if anyone is looking.

Love my Sig 380 as well. In my opinion it shoots like a dream with very little recoil and is easy to stay on target. Fiocchi is the only ammo I had problems with. I use Federal and Remington with zero issues.

@@michaelm233I came across a box of Ammo Inc 100gr at a little shop. Thought I’d give it a shot. Not a single issue. Drove back and bought 5 more lol. Thanks for the heads up. Those brands should be easier to find at big box stores.

I have a CCP in 9mm and I am not impressed with it. I have one of the early models in 2017 and the build quality is poor. The polymer of thr frame feels cheap. The machining on the slide was low quality. There was a portion of the striker channel that had an uneven rough razor sharp edge, it looked like it was poorly finished with a needle file or something. The machining on the sear was also rough, I could see maching marks and the surface was not flat and level. It was really rough machining. I'm not opposed to cost effective manufacturing like Ruger does but this wasn't that, it was just low quality work. The striker spring started to crumble on the end after 2 years. The trigger is HORRIBLE. Worst trigger I've ever shot by far. Long mushy no wall and the reset is all the way back out. The trigger return spring is so weak and return length sonlong that sometimes you dont let off all the way and the gun fails reset the trigger. There's so much room for improvement, it really needs a complete revamp. Having said all that the recoil is noticeable less with thr CCP. I widh Walther would put more development effort into the CCP line

I had considered one of those early CCPs around 2015 or 2016. After reading up on it and seeing videos, I quickly dismissed that notion. Your statement verifies my beliefs. Now, I do own a 5" PPQ M2 in .40 S&W and absolutely love it. I am considering the newer PDP as well. Walther makes great guns as a rule, but the CCP was a lemon....at least the 1st generation.

Yep, that's why I am glad that I bought their PPS instead.

While I've heard the newer CCP's are improved and use a stainless steel slide, the internals are still questionable and the gun can be short stroked in such a way that the sear catches, but no round is loaded in the chamber. The early CCPs were riddled with malfunctions and quality problems. I really think Walther started to go downhill when they were bought by Umarex, and the CCP is made in the Umarex factory in Arnsberg, not the true Walther factory in Ulm.

Thanks Hammer for the comparison. Always liked both brands but when it comes to quality I think SIG came on top on the 380acp. Although my P365-380 had an issue with the recoil spring assembly. Got a replacement from them now it's running perfectly. I looked at a CCP but my P365-380 seem a lot better overall. Looking forward to your comparison, maybe, the new PD380 with a P365-380.

Comfortable grip size and weight. Thats what I want with large/ ExLg hand size. I just bought the new old design G25 Gen 3 .380 9mm kurz.
G19 size frame, 4.02" barrel, and very important 15 & 17 rd magazines. Even got it in my favorite OD Green .
    Rest in Peace

The CCP probably would be a better comparison to the higher capacity Security380. About the same size and weight.

I wish Walther Ulm had made the CCP. By everything I've read, it's apparently an Umarex gun, and the lack of quality shows.

No advantage to the CCP. You can get the 12 round mag for the P365-380 which not only gives you a full grip but gives you 50% more capacity then the 8 round CCP. You can even swap to the X/XL grip module if you want and use the 12 round mags as well with the P365-380

  • @Fred_Bender
    @Fred_Bender 3 месяца назад

The mag disconnect can be easily disabled .Voiding the warranty .The CCP is fairly accurate but low capacity .

Is it possible to pull the slide back far enough to load a round but not quite far enough to cock the striker like in the 1st Gen CCP models? Can you test this so we know if they fixed this safety issue

I just found the Bulldog holster w/extra mag pocket. Fits the CCP M2 380 well but the belt clip is kind of flimsy. Only about $25. I'm sure there's better out there without breaking the bank.

@@cherokeecowboy7558 I was able to find one on Amazon for the Walther CCP. It did not specify .380 however it did fit…a little tight but it seems to be loosening up some. It holds the gun firmly and has a low profile print when coverd by a shirt. Price was around $22.00.
