once you have enough hours in bf you stop getting excited about things as they become far more common. I stopped getting excited and clipping things long, long ago.

The one thing i always loved about Hardline was the fact that you were able to damage vehicles with guns. Obviously low caliber shouldnt really do damage to an armored vehicle but being able to damage and destroy parts of a vehicle with LMG's for example is a good thing. It makes you able to do something when out of explosives or Anti tank weapons

That is actually accurate in real life too, helicopters must be very lightweight to take flight, that means no armor, so a real bullet just goes through the hull of the chopper

@@thierryyu1673 Yeah but the problem with that statement is that a helicopter can be miles away and clart you with a A2G missile or a .30 cal + optics, in BF the heli is forced to be close to the ground to be of the slightest use, so realism goes out the window.
A full 200round mag does like 35% damage to a heli btw xD

The infinite warfare campaign is easily the most underrated campaign in all of COD and honestly even underrated in the Sci-fi genre with it being top 3 in the series imo.
I used to like zombies on it, the arcade map oddly one of my favorites

If they had released it under a different title, it would probably get called a masterpiece. Too bad people are just like sheep and love to hop onto the hate bandwagon.
If it had released under a different name it would have been heralded as a master class in FPS campaign design. Too bad it was released in a franchise built around multiplayer with lackluster multiplayer.
Im very happy with this decision, Helicopters have always been obnoxious in this game, and Im happy with this Nerf. It will be so much easier to kill the players who only use helicopters and go 30-0 in a match.
We've been asking for this since launch. An invincible heli can ruin the game.
Why not remove helis entirely then?

The campaign was really good in that game. Too bad the multiplayer was probably the worst out of the franchise.

For sure, anything that can help kill the obnoxious stealth chopper is a welcome addition. That thing is OP.

I'd shoot at planes with a 200 round LMG back in BF1 i was a good shot and would probably bring them to about 10-5% HP no matter the distance

@@tecsmith_infobig bombers get absolutely hurt by this tactic, even 1 damage a shot, with 200 rounds, when you have a bipod and scope, you’re doing 5 damage with each burst, and you have 40 5-shot bursts. Even if you miss half of that, that big bomber can’t repair as long as you can keep hitting them.
Every time they go to fly over an objective, they get hit coming in, and hit coming out. If the machine-gunner keeps the bomber spotted, It becomes a target for friendly planes. When the bomber gets hit with both at the same time, it gets vaporized by what is essentially just two players.
mg1917 telescopic and you just smash it😂 even 2 supports in a squad can take out a big bomber easily..not even speaking of small bomber...and the 2-3 guys that always sit on AA anyway since they are fed up with planes😂

Jets are...the A-10 for example. Plus the chances of even hitting a jet in flight let alone disabling one is slim to nonexistent.

GhostGaming did some testing on this and it turns out you cant kill a heli at full health, not even with an LMG or with amor piercing ammo.

@@dougefresh2208idk I feel like if they’re using armor piercing rounds you should be able to kill it. They need to buff the AP rounds now that anyone can damage helis tho. Maybe they can do it where it ONLY affects the helis more than other vehicles. AP rounds are hardly used and need an incentive for players to choose them.
They originally had an incentive in that they dealt damage through armor plates, but they ditched that _real_ quick after launch.@@daviddowney-fe7xw

You could damage jets and heli's in BF2 w/ small arms as well, but it was tiny. A coordinated effort to shoot down heli's were possible though if more than a dozen went at it for a minute or so.
As a vehicle main or demo main I really like the changes. Now when I'm trying to demo I can shoot to stop their Regen and get the destroy easier. I feel it also makes vehicle operators actually retreat and re engage normally now.
The chip damage should actually be huge because receiving any damage at all from any source interrupts the quick repair and resets the auto repair timer. Unfortunately, the change didn't really change anything because no one bothers to even try shooting down aircraft still.
The IW campaign is freakin great, it's a shame it gets slept on.
I think one of the best parts about these 2042 videos is that you sorta just waffle on about random topics, or curated topics. It's nice to sometimes just want simple gameplay and listen to a bit of conversation.
I noticed the helicopter damage update when I tried sniping today, but I hardly ever play Recon, so I just thought that damaging helicopters with a sniper was something you were always able to do.
They put the flak canon back on the Recon jeep a while back. That's all I needed to deal with the aircraft. And boy is it fun!! Thanks DICE!! I can feel the anger from heli pilots, especially the Hind.
Does the after death kill cam still not update vehicle damage correctly? if you fire rocket at a tank for instance, then tank kills you.. it’ll show tank as full health (100% health) when for sure it’s been damaged
It shows the health of the person inside that killed you, not the tank.

I loved IW. Played multiplayer until 2021 when I couldn't get lobbies anymore. The campaign was amazing.
Should've went with Conquest 128, Exposure has about twice the amount of helicopters after a recent adjustement. I think it's two or three attack helis per side now.

Idk I feel like aircrafts aren't even anywhere near overpowered in 2042. Considering anything AA can lock on to you from across the map. The EBA Wildcat is broken since most people sit in spawn. I think because a lot of new players to Battlefield can't handle helicopters. The helicopters in 2042 isn't even comparable to the older games, which they were broken with a decent pilot.

I don't get gamers these days. They all seem to want an easy job killing a skilled pilot as a single infantry soldier. In fact i see more people dying in their helicopter before 30 seconds after spawning. People that complain about helicopters have no idea, wish they went back to BF3 to find out the meaning of OP vehicles. (and it's the single reason they exist anyway)
its bullshit. People think a heli should have a 1:1 k/d ratio. I dont even bother anymore with all the heli nerfs, its rarely fun.

@joren325 exactly. There's a lot of new players, hence the nerfs. So, if anything, this is just a skill issue these new guys have. Can't expect to play battlefield like cod where helicopters sit above you. Most people don't even realize how much time and practice goes into taking out infantry with a little bird consistently.
The hardcore mode on infinite warfare was a fun little challenge. No regen, could sustain limb damage, and if your helmet cracked you could die from a headshot. Was such a cool experience for a cod campaign

Even Jackfrags has the bug at the end of the match. After that normally it goes to a black screen and nothing... you have to close de game and reopen to play other round

i love this change. I cant count how often a little bird player was just dominating and basically harassing the enemy team. being able to curb their enthusiasm is really really nice

If you cant handle being killed by vehicles in a game about combined arms warfare then you should play other games
@@user-vh7yo5cg7t cant handle? you kidding? i can, but sometimes a really skilled pilot comes along and just dominates. i like it being able to chip at them to maybe reduce their aggressiveness. and also, it makes sense. It is a mix between arcade and a bit of battle sim...so having regular rounds deal a tiny bit of damage to lesser armed vehicles is a nice change. love it^^
Helicopters have been op in this game since release, and then to top off they added a stealth helicopter. Glad they've finally given then even just a small nerf!
It's not actually just a small nerf, it's a massive annoyance for pilots. Fortunately for pilots though, they're still only getting hit by the occasional stray bullet in 99.9% of rounds.
Regular bullets being able to damage the lighter helis and transports is actually _huge_ because any amount of damage, even just 0.0000000001, damage interrupts the quick repair and stops the auto heal. The problem? No one bothers to spare even one bullet for aircraft. I can still fly around in the Nighthawk, devastate the enemy team with my squad, and finish the round without even a single bullet so much as fly in my general direction, because helicopters have never been OP, they've only been unopposed.
helis will be literally unplayable if the rifle will inflict too much dmg to them. Helis in 2042 are not OP, if your squad cant destroy one heli, you guys suck, cause u got a lot of tools to kill them. In bf3 or bf4 helis might be a bit op, but in 2042 u really need skill to wreck the havoc.

@@lloydinouterspace it just shows that people playing infantry sucks and dont care about helis. Wildcat can literally sit at spawn and shoot aircrafts across the map. I can shoot down every heli with aa if i hunt for it as infantry, if i got hacker in my squad the task is really ez. People just sucks and dont care about helis at all.
@@quadro1337 fair point about wildcats, it's become standard for players to hog those and camp at their spawn or farm infantry instead of actually targeting helis.

Jack you have to get a full squad all shooting at a heli and see how fast a squad can take one down.
I wanted to play and managed to play a game but textures were broken and post match was just an infinite black loading screen. Is that fixed?
The movement and other animations look smooth. I remember it felt so weird at launch, like its glitchy, laggy or sth like that.

Exposure is a great example of how horrible the 64p layouts are for 2042 maps. That map plays so much better in 128 conquest.

They still do the same amount of damage as before. Normal bullets don't deal any damage if the range is more than 80 meters, so you'll still want to switch out to AP rounds if you're engaging a target that is further away.

Tbh that is kinda more realistic. After all, On March 24, 2003 the 11th Attack Helicopter Regiment mounted a deep penetration raid, intending to engage Republican Guard armored formations south of Baghdad. Short of the target area, they overflew an area thick with infantry and were caught in a withering barrage of small arms, machine gun, and RPG fire. Only one Apache failed to make it home, but the other 32 helicopters were shredded, many barely making it back. The entire unit was rendered combat ineffective for weeks. The Army never attempted another deep penetration raid.

I think normal bullets only damage to a certain range, after that only ap do damage

What they need to do is take flares away from the stealth chopper or put a cool down on stealth mode.

There are youtubers whom you can easily forget but JackFrags different. I grew up watching Jack and watched him grow as well. I remember the harsh times when jack was struggling with his surgery and the braces. Goood times never seem so good, Its hard to believe that we might be living in another good time.

In 128 there is a zipline across on exposure but not 64
BF1 had the Burton with its flame rounds that dropped aircraft of all sizes and tupes. Maybe we get a comparable round/weapon?
Lis has infinite ammo guided rockets that can 1-shot small helis. the NTW-50 with high power rounds deals 23 damage per shot, so these options are already much better than the 20-round Burton (which incidentally, is only usable by the support class). The NTW-50 can be used by any class and if you use it with Lis you are already quite strong against flying vehicles.

If you want the A.I. to move, in killswitch, mark/tag your enemies and the A.I. will hunt them.

I don’t play BF2042 anymore because my reaction time can’t keep up anymore, what game mode do y’all recommend?
Small arms damage to helis was introduced in BF4 while seeing adjusments, stuck through hardline and became mainstay in BF1. Thematically it felt correct for 2042s helis to not take small arms damage (advancements in armour technology etc.), but with the lack of effective AA balance this is a welcome change back to form for me.
I was really hoping for some sort of portal 2 Easter egg with the signs on the walls looking like aperture sience test instructions. I know ea only published portal 2's console and retail copies so not sure how much valve would let them use in a dice title but it still would have been so cool and the vibe of the map was very aperture science like, instead we go a pretty disappointing "zombies" mode. Wish they'd just drop a dinosaurs mode and bring the memes to life

Cod IW is one of the greatest campaigns I‘ve ever played ❤ however I cannot play that game on console because they have a server issue with it, I suppose they don‘t support it anymore, which is very sad for me. I love the zombies there but cannot play because of lag every 2 seconds (happens also in local play so not my internet)
I can also recommend the WWII campaign if you haven‘t played that too!

Makes sense against the little bird and the stealth helicopters but not the attack helis.
So, does it play on mid range pc? Or do u need a 4090? Is it as good BF3? Is it a immersive as BFV? Is it a fun and action packed at BF4?
If it can run on consoles it can run on a mid range PC. It doesn’t feel like a battlefield game though. There’s tons of gadgets to use which are fun, and some pretty cool moments. I’d pick it up if it ever goes on sale again for $10
to be honest the damage the helis take from ammunition is still not overly strong lol, full clip doing like 10 damage of health from standard rounds, armor pen rounds is like 20, if you have an mmg its slightly more but good luck hitting every shot with it, the mini guns on the birds still destroy , we shoot down our chopper pilots quite alot but it still doesnt stop them going something like 80kills+
Not against the air vehicle dmg but a better option imo would be ap tracer magazine swap

@jackfrags Usually when you don't see the models loading you get hit with the black screen bug. Bet that's what happened there.
DICE just continues to do the BARE MINIMUM while also stealth changing things nobody ever asked for while they ignore GLARING issues that people have been begging for them to fix. One of those things being the "black screen bug". I played last night and in 2 hours I had to ALT F4 because I got a black screen after a match, FIVE TIMES! There are countless other issues as well but they only seem interested in making the battlepass more of a grind and coming out with new skin packs (that arent even that good). I'm just disgusted with DICE and it sucks because I have always been a Battlefield guy... I just wish they would get their head out of their ass.

Infinite Warfare campaign was epic. Honestly one of my favourites.
I haven't seen anything about MW3 campaign, because I don't want to spoil anything, but the fact that it got such bad reception kinda makes me scared...
I was so happy they were finally gonna bring back Makarov (althought they appear to have completely skipped Zakhaev), but now I'm worried...
The campaign is terrible.
Makarov is an extremely forgettable and disappointing villain in COD MW3
I’m reality helicopter skins are pretty thin for instance a lot of skins on the uh60 are around 0.032”

Redacted conquest was an absolute game changer, for the better, for me in 2042 - it made it the game I always wished it was.
Doesn't change much since air vehicles are already a challenge to control.
