Just a few app related problems, it didn’t affect it too much
Anyways the action scenes were absolute hell, it was fine in sketch, but once I was coloring it became a complete nighhtmare

I love the idea that Scylla's the creature's tongue like a lure. A lot of fish who live so far down that the ocean is pitch black use a lure to capture prey since the prey will swim towards what they think is food.
I agree about lure thing but use tongue it kind weird I think if put it like angler fish will be more fit and look good

The way that Odysseus ducked and let one of the men with the torch get eaten is amazing 😍 Eurylochus realising the sacrifice plan when he sees the victims are the one with torches and feeling heartbroken 💔 god I also love Odysseus feeling of betrayal when he found out who opened the wind bag! I could go on about this, amazing animatic as always!!

Idk much about the myth of Scylla, but I've had the thought, was it not possible to use the Sirens as the bait for the 6 heads of Scylla? I understand Oddy might actively want to take revenge against Eurylochus for opening the wind bag but even so idk I feel like it could work, keeping some alive to use to slow down Scylla instead of his own men. But again, idk much about Scylla, she might certain dietary requirements that would make it so she wouldn't eat the Sirens, maybe a Siren intolerance.

Is it bad that I laughed?
I find it funny because Scylla was only aiming for the torch people as that's her price. Six lives, one for each of her heads, marked by a torch.
The lip syncing? The Scylla design? The expressions and animation??? Phenomenal.
I especially like the gut-wrenching detail of Odysseus actively choosing to step aside so Scylla can devour one of the men holding the torches.
Him dodging out of the way to let scylla eat the torch carrying soldier perfectly encapsulates whats going on.
Because while it can be argued that this was their only way home, without torches it wouldve been random 6 people. With torches however, its 6 people that arent odysseus.
1:13 you did great job here, I can tell by the Ody's pose, emotions and finger tapping how hard it was for him to make the decision to sacrifice six crew members

It was def was originally 5 torches but Eurylochus pushed Odey a bit too far with that confession.

It was always 6. Scylla has 6 heads and she takes one man to feed each. The artist is just interpreting that once Eury confessed, Ody decided Eury would be one of those to be sacrificed.

No one's mentioning that Odysseus looks away from Eurylochus when Eurylochus informs him that something is approaching.
Eurylochus is holding a torch. One of the 6 torches to signify the six meant to be eaten. He was expecting Eurylochus to be eaten, but instead, Eurylochus drops his torch to raise a sword. In dropping his torch, he defends another man with a torch. We see exactly two people be eaten without torches. One before he defends this man and one right after (only one torch is dropped by the pair eaten after).
The anglerfish elements of Scylla??? that’s so wondrously eerie! and the expressiveness with Odysseus when Eury confesses! The tightening grip on his own arm! And the lurking shadows and glowing eyes-this is so good!
Eurylochus’s shirt at the end got me 😂
The fact after he was told who opened the wind bag he just became stone cold is absolutely true
I LOVED the part of Odysseus moving out of the way for one of the heads to eat (takes the betrayal of the torches and cranks it to 11)
It actually happens twice, at 1:55 he pushes someone with a torch in the way and moves away, then at 2:29 he ducks to avoid it
Man the epic artists work fast and beautifully! When Ody dodged and let her take the crew member. I think Eurylochus.exe stopped working.
What I don’t think a lot of people noticed is that in response to learning of Eurylochus’s betrayal Odysseus absolutely tried to get him killed by Scylla and only because he passed off the torch did he survive.
Yeah I'm pretty sure that's the case because in Jorge's livestream Eurylochus was holding a torch, so I'm pretty sure Odyssus was acting out on betrayal and anger. And like you said the only reason he survived was because he either dropped it or passed it to someone else. :')

First of all, the animation here at 0:16 ?? Fucking amazing. I love how restless Odysseus seems! It subtly shows that he’s a lil nervous abt sacrificing the six men, but he’s desperate and is willing to do whatever it takes to make it home
And then at 0:21 HIS EYES!! The tiny shifting of his pupils captures his emotions so well, but you barely get a glimpse of it before it’s gone
0:45 I just rlly love ur design of Odysseus here. His hair, his expression - ughhhh he’s so pretty and so tortured I wanna put him in a waffle maker
The moment between 1:13 and 1:20 ? BEAUTIFUL. I love the shift in Ody’s expression, the visible struggle between shock and resentment, I LOVE IT SO MUCH
The entire sequence of Scylla ripping the men apart is just,, wow. Actually WOW. The animation is lovely, the design for Scylla and how her heads work is so unique, and the way Odysseus DUCKS DOWN SO THAT LAST GUY CAN GET EATEN?? You can see so clearly how terrified and betrayed Eurylochus is at the end, it leads so well into Mutiny!!!

All of this stunning, the animation, the styles, everything. Scylla being a angler fish in a way is so smart. Eurylochus looks horrified and I can't blame him.

Perfectly captured Oddyseus's heavy heart when sacrificing 6 men. His first time throughout the entire like 12 year journey he sacrificed men because its 6 men or the entire ship and it was haunting him before he even made the call to do it. God his expressions are phenomenal.

2:07 loved this part so much. The head twisting and the tongue coming out to watch is so cool!! Love this version of her!! In most versions shes a tragic character but here she enjoys the monster shes become. Like this smirk at 0:25, toying with the fish at 0:50. So much more malicious here! Even odysseus is more intentional here. Such a great concept
I am sitting here with my JAW OPEN. This was incredible I've been binge watching so many of these videos I'm sad I'm only now finding it. Scylla coming up on the oar, someone actually fighting back against her, her human-like body being a horrifying lure, so many details I've not seen in any other videos and are SO COOL. Fantastic work.

The whole idea of the humanoid part of Scylla (taking into consideration she was a nymph before Circe transformed her) being "just" the tongue is such an interesting and creepy idea.

The design of Scylla is truly on point I am in lovveee !!!! Plus the way the soldier are getting snatched by the heads from behind !!! Perfectly handled !!!!

This is easily the best animatic for Scylla I've found if not the best one for the epic series as a whole. That animation is so smooth, I love it!

Omg and the moment where Odysseus dives out of the way of Scylla for her to devour someone else instead of standing his ground and fighting.... visual storytelling... this is REALLY GOOD!!
INCREDIBLE, 10/10, AMAZING WORK. I love that Ody seems restless at the beginning but not afraid (0:09). I am obsessed with how controlled you made Ody's reaction to Eury's confession, like he's feeling incredibly betrayed but doesn't want to show it in case it makes him suspicious (0:42, 0:54). the silence until 1:15 which is highlighted by not having either of them in frame, plus him looking away at 1:17, definitely making it seem like he wanted Eurylochus to be one of the men who died. _the way Ody looks away when he hears Scylla has arrived. like he doesn't want to be involved in what he knows is coming_ (1:28). the way Scylla grabs an oar??? incredible???? (1:30). the lack of expression on Ody's face compared to the the horror and fear of the crew (1:32). I'm going to be honest, I'm not 100% sure what happens at 1:55. my first thought was that Ody _pushed_ someone in front of Scylla (monster rawr rawr rawr behaviour), but I think that he reaches out to _save_ a crew member before remembering that he needs them to die to keep himself safe (still monster rawr rawr rawr behaviour). either way, devastating detail. I love that you have Eury saving a crewmate (2:15) right before Ody gets out of Scylla's way so she can eat someone else (2:27). also the expression of Eury's face at the end is going to kill me (2:48).

In terms of facial expressions i think ximenas scylla is the best and krieos Scylla is the most attractive.

The angles actually blew me away! The movements are so fluid and I cannot be the only one who was terrified to the core when Scylla grabbed the oar at the beginning and said “hello.” PHENOMENAL WORK!!!!

One small question:
Wasn't it possible, instead of just drowning the sirens after their "castration", to leave them on the ship, and then use them as a snack for a giant monster who adores LIVE food instead of his people?
I just took it as Odysseus being so pissed that they imitated his wife that he didnt think far ahead.
A few possiblities (though nothing is confirmed)
1) Keeping the sirens alive is risky (but worth a try IMO). With the crews' ears blocked they may not hear the commands on when and where to row, or warning shouts, but if they remove the ear block the sirens may enchant them into letting go or turning against the crew or drowning themselves.
The sirens could be gagged, but the crew has poor decision making skills at times ike the wind bag, so they might ungag a few out of pity or curiosity about their song. Odysseus said he was lip reading, idk how he instructed the crew to cut off their tails maybe he did so himself and the others followed, or they were only partially blocked so they could hear but not be enchanted.
2) It's also possible eating six of any passing crew is an established 'price' of passage that Odysseus is aware of (as mentioned in Suffering), and trying to cheat Scylla out of it would make her angry and have further losses. The animatic seems to imply this, since he doesn't see himself as at risk because he marked out his men instead. She also sounds angrier and attacks right after "row for your lives". Circe may have warned him or he heard stories before, but the crew didn't know or they wouldn't have gone.
3) Odysseus was thinking angrily/emotionally rather than logically at the time, which is why he was unnecessarily cruel rather than quickly killing the sirens.
4) Scylla just prefers the taste of humans to sirens. She's been eating fish most of the time and would like a change.
5) No in-universe explanation, but a plot hole(?) caused by adaptational changes to add ruthlessness since he didn't capture the sirens in the original, and six crewmates got eaten by Scylla despite his efforts to get past quickly.
It looks like Eurylochus could see Scylla and Odysseus sing to each other at the end, omg the horror he must have felt as his captain and a monster locked eyes and knew they were the same
