I am Amélie's teacher! I am proud of her and thank you for your support everyone!🥰
Thank you too for the great recording of your own playing!:)
@@heartofthekeys The pleasure is mine.
niec
nice :)
😍
Number 1 for me. Teresa I think. Her playing had the most continuity with the right mixture of steady tempo but with nice dynamic changes.
Yes I’d chose her for these reasons also, I could immediately be in confidence to enjoy the music
You're right
Agreed!! It is light and not overbearing
She had far less airtime than the other two and I wish I could see her whole video
The 3 are VERY GOOD.
#1Teresa and her socks. :)
#2 Poh. Great energy!
#3 Darin. Kinda "soft".
Now I'm a celebrity 😂😂😂😂😂
Annique, thank you very much for your comments and additions, this is a real mini-master class! You are the best ❤️
Excellent work!
@@pjbpiano thank you!
@@lukalapshin4634 you literally killed it , well done sir!
Hi, Theresa here!
I am so, so impressed by all of these interpretations and want to thank you, Annique! I genuinely loved participating in this challenge. It made me work in ways I have never worked before :O
It motivated me so much, and brought me back to the piano after I faced many frustrations. So: thank you, thank you, thank you! Much love!
Bravo pour ta prestation, j'espère que tu remporteras la fameuse masterclass !
💓
Well done!
I hope you win!! Well done, you play beautifully.
Excellent work! I’m sure your performance is in the fine polishing stages (having been there with the Heroic Polonaise myself) where your teacher and Annique can help you take your performance from a 10/10 to a 10+! Great job!
Thanks to everyone for sending me their videos! It was so much fun and very inspiring to see you guys play this piece! I would love to repeat it soon again - any wishes for the challenge piece?
From México, Ana Sofia, i would be a good idea to play a Chopin piece
Please choose waltz op 64 no 2 for the next challenge!
Liszt mazeppa
Can you make a challenge on original music.. hugs from a México 🇲🇽
I would like to hear some Chopin nocturnes because I feel like there is a good mixture of technical demand and expression.
Wow all of these piano players are incredibly inspiring!
Who else feels inspired now!
Me!!
Unfortunately I don't have a grand piano/ 88 keys piano
@@vishwakmusic9314 you can practice a lot on ur keyboard aswell. If u feel like you're missing out on the first and the last octaves, go to the functions menu(there should be a functions menu on every keyboard) and shift the octaves to your liking, and ofcourse, you can buy pedals if you want too, hope that it helps:)
My pick will be No.3, the tempo is good being a polonaise must be danceable and in a military style (rhythmic drive strict) so the rubato is subtle. He is pretty good. The others are good too. When I was learning and teaching this polonaise, a few things is a must: Strict, Precision, Discipline and Drive. It’s gotta have these attributes because your making a grand statement 👍🏼 happy playing
Number 1 for me. This young lady demonstrated complete mastery of how this piece was intended to be played. Chopin would have been proud. The dynamics, the tempo, her performance was outstanding.
👍
I'm always surprised when people who never knew Chopin (or any other composer who did not leave explicit instructions in how something aught to be played many decades after their deaths in a totally different instrument) can say such things as: "Chopin would have been proud." Or.... "How this piece was intended to be played."
Where do y'all get these religious ideas?
#1 for me. I loved this new challenge concept. There are so many wonderfully talented pionist out there. You are an inspiration to many.
Such an inspiring video (even the comments are inspiring) - well done to everyone that participated.
Sincere congratulations Annique!! It's amazing how this community is growing!! Your attitude is the best!!
No. 3, for me was very expresive and his playing makes me feel like in a field full of flowers. This is the spirit of a polonaise for me.
I appreciated your video! Much love, Annique! 🥰🤗
Definitely number 1, Theresa. A solid interpretation, very polonaise-like.
I know, it’s beautiful!!
Definitely No. 1. She captured the essence of the piece and played with such clarity I could actually imagine each and every individual note
I really like Darin's performance, I think it is most similar to how I would like it to be played :)
Jokes aside, thanks for the opportunity to play! When I recorded this, I had just had my last piano lesson a few days prior, and was getting ready to move to college in less than a week. So it was a great chance to perform something for the last time (at least for the foreseeable future).
I was also on the tail end of recovering from covid which is why I am wearing pajamas 🙃 but coincidentally the camo does sort of match the piece.
Darin, you played it well, but most of all, I loved your technique - the beautifully soft, supple hands and fingers. Bravo and good luck with college.
Your piano sounds great.
Darin did a good job!!! What are the Post It notes for?
@@jt2553 notes from my teacher-I take them off my books and stick them there when I don't need them anymore instead of throwing them away because I am lazy
Thank you for the great video as always, and thank you for expanding my love for classical music.
This is excellent - great community.
Your suggestions on executing tricky or important parts to melody, tempo are fantastic
#1 Theresa for sure. They all did a great job, but she had the most fluidity and aside from the impeccable technicality, she also expressed a deeper emotional connection to the piece. Well done!
Theresa was my favourite, she just played it so effortlessly and cleanly. I wouldn't be surprised if she was a professional pianist
I loved this, I wish you made more of these type of videos!
I like no. 2 best. That is because of the clarity and the tempo. Its too hard to actually hear whats going on when pieces are played too fast. Lots of too fast these days…
What a great experiment. Everyone here is absolutely great and so brave for recording themselves. One day I hope to have the courage.
Me too!
Wow, I loved all of your performances! Congratulations to everyone. But in my opinion, Theresa did the best job. She just played with so mich emotions and with such a great energy💕
No.1 Theresa. Sie lebt diese Musik mit Herz,Verstand, Können und Begeisterung💓
I really appreciate the disclaimer to keep things civil. Performing can be nerve wracking let alone having the people of the internets join in. This is also a very interesting type of format in that it entertains and also provides tips for people learning this polonaise. Well done!
No 1 and an incredible job by all performers!
Number one, Teresa, without doubt. Beautiful phrasing and tone.
Hi Annique!! I loved this video! It has been very inspiring to see other people play this piece and to hear your advice. Everyone has done great and you can see the great work behind each recording. My favorite is... Theresa!! I like the cleanliness of his interpretation, his stability in tempo (and the right tempo choice, not too fast or too slow), the phrasing, the dynamics and contrasts, and of course his good posture :)
Loved this idea of letting your audience submit their tries on a piece of music you have chosen. At the end I think no: 3 was the best of three very good interpretations.
I think Theresa feel this piece completely and I love it! She's the best.
Number 1 (Teresa) for me. Best dynamics of the three and she kept the Polonaise dance feel. Also very good use of the pedal.
*#3* -- Good tempo, great energy, and great dynamic variations on the right notes.
Wow, I love this break down and your recommendations. ♥️ Amazing video! I think Teresa's version is very melodical and holds well together. But really all the pianists did an amazing job.
Number 1 is the most professional and the most pianistic recording. It is very educated piano playing at an advanced level. 👍
Theresa has my vote 👍 Dynamics, fully relaxed technical skills, impressive tempo but still with a lot of details. For such a next challenge Annique, I'd like Chopin's Ballad n°3 😊
👍
Number 1 was my favorite. I thought your critique was very good. Posture is so very important for having a good tone, control, and command of the instrument (not to mention sparing yourself of unnecessary injuries).
No.2 for me. He keeps the tempo steady but not losing the lively, vivid feeling of the piece. He has some nice dynamic changes as well
Number 1. I thought she played beautifully.
#1 (Theresa) - she makes it look so easy and she controles the different dynamics and dramatic-points so well
♥️
All did a great job :) and kudos for letting themselves be publicized :D
And a ❤ for Amelie!
I am voting 1, although 2 and 3 were good attempts too.
Theresa is my favourite. Her dynamics was the smoothest, her notes felt light yet powerful when needed. The tension build up was great, but she could also give the piece some delicate accents.
I enjoyed this. I think you should do more videos like this - offering feedback on people's playing.
1 for sure. Would love to hear the whole thing.
ruclips.net/video/dnemFT9WvFs/видео.html
Number 1 for me. It has energy, is moving forward, with solid technique, and musical.
Number 1 (Theresa) has my vote! She has so much control of phrasing, tempo and dynamics and her touch is really, really clear!
Number 1 for me - a very thoughtful performance.
Number one for me. She is not rushing and verry stabil. Maybe a video with her together?
Terese no1 definitely!! keep up the great work, its a lot of fun watching your videos!! das popoechen am schluss lol :D :D :D
i love this, nice one annique!!
I loved No 1 most by far. I LOVED her beautiful octave line up and the subtle way she ended that phrase. Also I thought her technique was lovely: beautiful hands without tension.
Number 1, Theresa, to my ears.
Marvelous initiative... My favourite is #1. Thanks
Very good format. Do more like that.
No. 1 for me, as her phrasing of the tune was the most cohesive! Great rhythmic energy as well!
Theresa. Consistent tempo and really excellent dynamics.
Great pianists/piano players. They all deserve warm congratualitions for they hard work, but Theresa was my favourite. I wish I could listen to more of her playing.
Number 1, she really deserves it!!
Omg how have I missed these challenges?! 😱 I think person number 1 had the most solid performance. 👌🏽
I think Theresa, so no. 1, was the best. Her dynamics were very well chosen and she kept the feeling of a polonaise! :)
That was very ambitious for Amélie'. I applaud her performance and cuteness. Keep at it!!
First of all, love love love this type of video!! As a piano player I'm always inspired and greatful to be able to share music experiences and listen to others playing. I thought all of the 3 finalists were great - no1 seemed very relaxed and in control and her rendition flowed well. I perceived a little more emotional imput with number 2 while number 3's rendition was more ceremonial. Compliments to all and I look forward to other videos like this one 🤗👏👏
I like that with this videos I can put your notes into my everyday playing methods , and try to keep every ones videos the same length at list that we can hear everyone playing the same parts
All of them play it much better than I could! I think I liked Theresa (No.1) the best. She's maybe rushing a little, but I find this more exciting than the rubato favored by the others. I'm inspired to start working on this piece...I'll share a video in a couple years!
For me, number 2. All were really good!
I really enjoyed no.1 most, I felt she had the most energy from the 3.
Theresa, exactly!
Number 1 hands down.
Please do more of these subscriber challenges I love them! Also I like no. 2 the most!
I loved Nº 3, I felt the interpretation the most 💙
All of them are great, but I loved most Thereza!
Number 1 is Theresa, even though I appreciate a lot Darin for playing so well on that piano... I'm sure he could do wonderfully on a better one
Thank you! Very nice!
It would be No. 1 for me, but they are all good.
Teresa. A very clean performance, and captures both the style of Chopin and the feel of a grand and courtly dance.
Very good learning video one of the best I have seen so far on the internet. I only have an Yamaha P125 and can not afford a real piano or teacher. But hearing how you talk about the fealing tempo softnes and agressiveness. Makes the world to me to try to implement that on my playing. Sorry for that I dont know the correct piano lingo. Have a great day. Patrik from Sweden 7 months in piano playing. :-)
congratulations
Loved number 1!
Damn, missed this. Hope you do it again in the future!
Number 1, with natural agogics and sense of timing and pace
👏👏👏A very interesting, educational, and very well made video!
Nr.2's rendition stands out memorably for me. Very appealing phrasing and dynamics clearly characterize and guide us through Darin's expressive take on this piece, which seems to have been informed by having carefully listened to old recordings of master pianists.
And I also found that the somehow peculiar sound of his piano turned out to work twofold advantageously here: On a rather particular level, the crispiness we perceive in the recording presents us with instants of enjoyable, real silence between phrases, which adds up to the beauty of a well articulated musical discourse; and on a more general level, we get the impression that Darin is consistently invested in matching his playing to the idiosyncrasies of the specific instrument, in order to make the human-and-instrument symbiose sound at its best in all moments.
I think Teresa's performance was the cleanest and the sharpest, but I'm no pro nor expert haha
Other than that, congrats to everyone who had the courage to join this challenge and record themself, whatever level all of you are it is amazing 👏👏✨
Love this series and your work in general :) I think if you recorded yourself giving feedback while sitting at your own piano it would make the video much more "whole" although, surely, more technically challenging to set up 😅 keep it up
Definitely Theresa 😊
Number 3 is the winner for me. Great job!
Wow this is awesome!!
Annique is picking the best students so she does not have to roast any of them 😂 Smart strategy. As you go down and pick more problematic players it would be harder to not say unpleasant things (and this is needed and what a teacher has to do to get some students to improve).
I'm casting a vote for #1 - Theresa. The few seconds you showed us seemed to indicate the best control, technique, and dynamics.
Number 1 for me (Theresa). There were elements I liked about all three but I felt Theresa’s was the most consistent (though I would turn down her tempo just a fraction). Everyone who submitted a video did an amazing job and I wish I could do it hehe!
No.1 showed mastery and has my vote.
the opening scene is so great and funny ;o
No. 1, Theresa for me:) she deserves it!!
Amélie was adorable, a great pianist in the making ❤
Wow. I really enjoyed this. It gave me hope that some day I might accomplish 🎹. And improve my posture. Practice practice practice! I know the contest is over I enjoyed all #1s transitions were clean and rhythmic and not rushed. So was number 3 he really put his ❤️ into his peice but I pick #1. Congradulations to you all 🎹 ❤️
This was an amazing video. I want to start doing this.
You should make a RUclips poll for this.
No. 3. 1 was also very good. Difficult choice! With 3, though, I felt the music inside my body.
No.1 for me.
Next time I would like to do Mozart Sonata no.11
I'd vote for Theresa (No1) because of the lightness and sense of playfulness that I can hear in her interpretation.
Theresa no1 - fantastic feel.
Theresa, No. 1, for me. She is so free in her tempo and keeps everything light and not overbearing.
