For glass/ceramics just look to make sure it says "broiler safe" and it should be okay to put in the Breville.
Try playing with the "Roast" setting vs Bake as it prioritizes heating from below.

I don't like adding anything in these ovens that I don't think can handle really hot heat so no.

Thanks for the quick response. I am very leary of the silicone liners that say they can be used, so I will just keep the crumb tray "au natural".
