- Samsung SMART LED with half top side of the screen is dark. This is an indication of a defective LED backlight. Both Backlight are defective causing darkening of both sided of the screen. A replacement of LED backlight fix the issue, the video show the process of replacement.
TV Model: Samsung UA40ES6220R
Tools Required:
1. Screw driver
2. 2 pcs. LED Backlight Part number: 10PIN 3D-7032LED-MCPCB R/L

Very nice video post. I have the same problem at my house. There is dark shadow above and below the TV. (40" Samsung) . I will change this myself. 👍👍

Concerning the Samsung with shadow at top, using part number I found, not exact, but close match. i see some light strips go L to R across TV, and others along either side. Before I order is there some way to know for sure, without disassembly that the side strips are the right part for my TV? Its Samsung 3D TV 46" UN46ES6600F.
I dont have the info for your tv model, I did disassembled my tv just to know the correct part. That's the only way. And you also need to count the led to and pass the info to seller to be sure. Another way is to replaced individual LED if available at your local store.
