I don't think it's a cultural difference, maybe just a preference. I think we all agree that we don't kiss our friends, but obviously if you're kissing, then you're more than friends. Instead of just "confessing" they take a bolder approach. There's no mixed signs with a kiss

I can half agreed to this, I still think we can be bolder with our affective here in the USA specially considering showing affective in Korea, Japan, and other countries in public is uncommon (rlly just holding hands is something u would see or the holding the arm walk) and one of the main things I hear from my Japanese friends and even my ex and his friends in the Netherlands is that one cultural difference is relationships and how we are in it compare to them.
I have a friend from Japan that seen girls (as friends) kiss each other , in Brazil I seen it and ofc here in America I have seen it even within my friends. It’s not that common but common I guess idrk like if a girl ask a girl for a kiss and they best friends or close friends they’ll do it for “fun” 😂

I obviously can't speak for every American but for the most part, we want to be best friends with our significant others. Starting out as friends is a really good base for a love relationship. I think that the main difference culturally is that SOME Americans have no problem putting it on tape for the world to see. There are a whole bunch of us that would never dream of doing that, so please don't judge us all by what some do on the internet. Also, we don't have the separation of genders in our youth as much as you do in Korea so guy, girl friendships are not as unusual. You are both so adorable...you both have to have noticed that about each other before...come on, be honest.

you explained it perfectly. i’ve noticed that being in a friend-type romantic relationship isn’t as typical in korea. they have a much more clear cut line between a platonic and romantic relationship.
i cant speak for Americans but in the EU its normal that girl and boy friends are really close to each other espcially if they know each other for a longer. So that its nothing wierd about leaning on the shoulder or hugging or things like this with best friends. Like its ok to change clothes in front of one another and for germans its also ok to go skinny dipping in the lake with firends from the opposit gender for example.
I'll be honest it's annoying when people say girls and boys can't be friends because I have as much friends that are male as friends that are female. I don't really get the "guy friend" or "girl friend" thing but I recently thought we don't need these because a friend is a friend gender doesn't make a difference.

Many believes that friendship is the foundation for a good relationship. I can understand that for Korean people it’s unthinkable. After living here for 2 year (still living there actually) I realize most Korean people don’t even have that “friend stage” where they learn to know each other before being in a romantic relationship. Instead they’ll go in 2/3 dates and then decide to be in a relationship and later to learn to know about the other person. For my part I prefer to know the person better before committing.
Oh and the guys kept referring to the guy’s touchy hand when kissing but c’mon let’s be honest most Korean guys are, you guys just don’t show it on video. But from my experience Korean people during daytime are completely different during night time. The conservative way don’t show much at night from what I witnessed 😅.

In the United States this is so normal for bffs. Here they can touch, hug, lay together or whatever. It isn’t like a bad thing for them. I am an Asian my self and this is the first time I’ve seen this to be honest. Ever since I came to live in the U.S. I’ve noticed a lot of this going on and now I consider it as a very normal thing. So don’t be surprised, it’s just normal for them.
I don’t know where you live in the US and what kind of environment you are in, but kissing and touching your bff is not normal from where I’m at. I’ve never seen or heard from anybody around me who made out with their bestfriend. At the end of the day, it’s a personal choice regardless of where you are from.

I have literally kissed all my best friends until now. 😂 One was by accident while kissing each-others cheek. The other turned their head at the wrong/right moment and we couldn't stop laughing afterwards. And finally the last was a dare (maybe happened more then once with her because we both were crackheads back then and just loved messing around with others). None of us are lesbians or into one another. I'm married now and one's engaged... No feelings involved. Just tons of funny memories we laugh about now. I think majority of these vid clips of trying to kiss a friend or best friend is fake , I'm pretty sure majority of them are in a relationship with the person that they are supposedly trying to kiss and people are eating it up like it's real like there only just friends , but in terms of best friend alot of guys and women consider there boyfriend and girlfriend as best friends that they are in a relationship with and kiss them so i could see that , but pretending to be only friends and trying to kiss them for views and likes is misleading
