Newbie to Gretsch question
What’s that piece of metal trim on the arch under your right forearm and where can I get one?
Basically a hood ornament
It’s a standard piece on certain models. Doesn’t really have much function although I guess it would technically keep that spot from wearing down from use

I'll tell you a short story about my Gretsch, I bought it about 2 years ago, I was fortunate because the large store I visited had several Gretsch models available which they had only received a couple of days previously, I was instantly very impressed with a very very special one, I didn't return it to it's display after playing it for about 5 minutes in the store through a very great amp, the sales person asked me if I'd like to try a few more, I was so instantly bonded with it I couldn't hand it to him, I replied could you please go get me it's matching Gretsch case and I'll be right here still playing it when you return, he smiled and said yeah it's the one for sure, I said how much is this instrument? he said its one of Gretsch's least expensive models and don't tell my boss, but you played 4/5 quite expensive models this morning including two Japanese built models and their flagship model U.S.A. too and I honestly was listening for the last 10 minutes from across this packed store as was everyone here likewise and it really is a giant shock for us too! -it was and is their Streamliner Jr in their Double Barrel stain, it is extremely special indeed, because I also entered with a budget in mind of spending up to $7,000 and it wasn't obviously required....go test one!
I forgot to further mention, it's flawless, and sonically perfect to match, it's been built/crafted in Indonesia and I only changed it from it's standard 10-46 to 9 to 42 gauge strings and lowed the action, it NEVER looses tune and is the most fantastic guitar I have ever played and own among 9 others collected over 30 years of professional playing and touring and recording.
I get offers to sell it often, including some very expensive guitars in exchange for it too, it's a keeper for sure.
