Absolutely one of the greatest songs in the universe RIP Jim and Ray still playing this song in 2022 can't forget about Krieger and Densmore legendary.🙏🏼🙏🏼👍🏼👍🏼🎵🎵🎶🎶🔥🔥🔥
I listened to the doors just non stop in high school. that was in the 1990’s. i guess every year there is a new group of 16 year olds falling in love with the doors. theyre is just no one else like them.
I seen them in 1970, almost got to meet Jim, I was about 8ft from him. Girl! he was beautiful!! I can honestly say I was, as you put it, intoxicated by his presence. Since then and even til today, no one has ever made me feel that way. The concert was awesome. If I had 3 wishes, one would be to go back to that day.
too drunk ?! he wasn't drunk if you watch the whole performance, just because he doesn't stick to the usual forma it didn't mean he was drunk he is well known for improvisational skills too, i hate it when people prefer referring to him as a drunk singer instead of the genius poet he really was
I'm still playing this song in 2022 all October month long constantly heard it sixteen years ago and I finally find this treasure salute to you all forever bumping this jam 👍🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🎵🎵🎶🎶🔥🔥🔥
agreed. i think it was lao tzu who said that the best leaders guide the masses without the masses knowing that they are being led. the same probably goes for guitarists.
makes me wanna run out the door and buy a bottle of whisky. The Doors' music is drinkin' music. ..makes you feel all these different things, it's soul music...you get your own meanings out of it... 'I need someone who doesn't need me'
everytime I observe Ray, I wonder how he managed to play like that! This is what made The Doors something else! they were not like other bands all pulling and pushing in front of the cameras. You can see the focus in every single artist here. Love them all!
Aneudyù Lozada absolutely right! beyond correct ! what a band what great musicians! still nowadays we only get to listen to the doors very rarely. in the UK Real XS Manchester plays Riders or break on through but very rarely, not even mentioning the chart radios!
The slide Robbie is using is actually the lid of a bottle. This video is from a DVD, and later in the DVD there's an interview with Robbie and he talks about it. You just wrap a rag around the bottle, and smash the bottom of the bottle, and keep the top.
WHOA! Robby Krieger w/ a Les Paul? Haven't seen that before...love them Les Paul "Black Beauties" and I totally dig Robby's unique Flamenco guitar style. Rock on and R.i.P. Jim.
RAY MANZAREK, CREADOR DEL SINGULAR SONIDO DE THE DOORS. A DOS AÑOS DE SU PARTIDA. DESCANSE EN PAZ. GRACIAS, RAY.
Love the sheared wine bottle neck Robbie is using to get a bluesy sound. This was the first time Jim sported a full beard in public with The Doors. In Miami it was much more cultivated.
Just look at Manzarek... bass on left hand and keyboard on right hand, and after Jim died, he even sang. What amazing talent.. Nowadays, you'd have 3 people doing all that.
jim morrison had a drinking problem long before that, and yeah i can connect to him and the alcohalism he had, because im becoming one my self. yo can hear the feelings and emotions in his singing. usually when someone sings blues and is acually sad, it makes it feel real to everyone listening. even though it was a bad time for jim he still managed to sing and thats what makes it special to me.
Fuckin A, brother! I've had a few shitty cards dealt to me in life and drinking booze is the only way I can deal with it. A lot of people are alcoholics and don't even know it. I'm probably one myself, but I embrace it. I love a good drink! Sometimes it even gives you the jolt your body needs. Anyway, for those that like a good drink and listen to The Doors playing the blues .... keep rockin', yo!
probably my favorite jim morrison, were he didnt give a fuck about looks or money, he was just being the blues man he was. and did a good job of it too
Jim's total obsession some might say with slide guitar is evident right at the start of the video with the way he is looking at Robbie opening the song he is gazing in awe! haha totally transfixed , this whole show deserves the Peter Jackson treatment and upgrade the video surely that can be done now to make it look brand new and in HD
Every time I drive past an 18-wheeler on Sunday's I sing to myself "Sunday trucker...." and wonder if the driver is singing that same thing to himself throughout his route.
Its on 'Absolutely Live', which has since been repackaged as 'The Doors In Concert' along with another live album 'Alive she cried'. The song was never on a studio album.
I love this song!! I like how many times Jim Morrison slips in the word motherfucker. This had to have been super controversial back in the late 60s / early 70s. It would be considered controversial today!!
Give me a witness, darling. I need a witness, babe. I got the poontang blues. I got the poontang blues. From the top of my head to the bottom of my cowboy shoes. Build me a woman, Make her ten feet tall. You got to build me a woman, Make her ten feet tall. Don't make her ugly, Don't make her small. Build me a woman, Make her ten feet tall. You got to build me a woman, Make her ten feet tall. Don't make her ugly, Don't make her small. Build me someone I can ball All night long.
Gotta love the blues...Especially when Jim sings it. Robby is wearing sunglasses to cover up the black eye that Jim gave him. Jim made out with Robby girlfriend at a party and Robby confronted Jim...
watch the interview extremely after the show robbie has his sunglasses off and he dosen't have a black eye and I think robbie got punched by someone and it wasn't jim
It's 2022 and I'm still playing the doors right now jamming hard to this live version of Build me a woman RIP Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek Robbie Krieger an John Densmore are still alive the doors greatest of all time salute and God bless to you all always and forever bumping this jam.🙏🏼🙏🏼👍🏼👍🏼 🎵🎵🎶🎶🔥🔥🔥

agreed
Because this version swings.
Um.... hasn't anyone told you.... he's bn gone a while now....!!
Everybody always goes on about Jim Morrison and how good of a front man he was but you've got to admit the doors won't have been the same without Ray
And John and Robby
Very true... I just watched the documentary.."Break On THRU" 2/12/2020.🎶 Manzarek IS A genius!!
The doors wouldn’t be the doors without any of them Jim John ray and Robby
I listened to the doors just non stop in high school. that was in the 1990’s. i guess every year there is a new group of 16 year olds falling in love with the doors. theyre is just no one else like them.
The Doors wouldn't have ever exist without Ray.

The Doors were always at their best playing the blues.
Ironic that in another version of this he goes on to complain about the blues

Well said, Jude999. I agree heartily! Love this version of Build Me A Woman!
Robby Is one of the best guitar players I’ve ever heard
Robbie krieger is the most undervalued guitarist player in the history, he's excellent
I hope he comes to Mexico again :(
sings about a cunt
agreed. i think it was lao tzu who said that the best leaders guide the masses without the masses knowing that they are being led. the same probably goes for guitarists.
Not enough Densmore closeups
Dude was seriously underrated
He's amazing in Land Ho. Maybe his best drumming ever
He was special because a jazz drummer really.
To me Jim is looking at his brothers and truly admiring them. He thought they were brilliant and gifted. He loved them.
makes me wanna run out the door and buy a bottle of whisky. The Doors' music is drinkin' music. ..makes you feel all these different things, it's soul music...you get your own meanings out of it...
'I need someone who doesn't need me'
I never get bored of The Doors. Real music.
No body better than Jim Morrison
everytime I observe Ray, I wonder how he managed to play like that! This is what made The Doors something else! they were not like other bands all pulling and pushing in front of the cameras. You can see the focus in every single artist here. Love them all!
The sound of the organ was so unique. RIP Ray!
yes, it was and we can still listen to Ray. When I type on my PC I think of Ray so I start typing really fast LOL
Elizabeth Faitarone they were perfect
Aneudyù Lozada absolutely right! beyond correct ! what a band what great musicians! still nowadays we only get to listen to the doors very rarely. in the UK Real XS Manchester plays Riders or break on through but very rarely, not even mentioning the chart radios!
Ray Manzarek was the glue that held this band together, musically, imo.
They all worked as one well oiled machine... No other band in the history of all time like them and never will be again.... truly amazing ❤❤❤
For the record; this is April 1969. 'The Soft Parade' performance from this program is incredible, I highly recommend it. LYJ.
the DOORS always the best band from the 60's... and always ... integral part of MY life.LOVE THIS
A fan since 1990 this never gets old
Same!!!
Ray always kills it

Ray Manzarek was ***king phenominal ..R.I.P. RAY....
They were all just as important as each other in and to this music. Doors fans know that it couldn’t have been any other line up.
Ray was the musical backbone of the Doors.
Jim has to be one of the most handsome men of the last century, I mean; Look at him!
I'm so jealous...
WHOA! Robby Krieger w/ a Les Paul? Haven't seen that before...love them Les Paul "Black Beauties" and I totally dig Robby's unique Flamenco guitar style. Rock on and R.i.P. Jim.
He used that guitar for slide

Hey fellow music lovers, I just want to claim my seat and say I loved this song and video! It made my day after work.
Love the sheared wine bottle neck Robbie is using to get a bluesy sound. This was the first time Jim sported a full beard in public with The Doors. In Miami it was much more cultivated.
Phenomenal. To think that Jim would be dead in less than a year later, after this performance, sends shivers over me.
This was recorded in 1969. He died in 1971.
This is my favorite band right here.
I love the Doors best in two configurations: slow blues and ballads.
By far the best recording of build me a woman (imo). Something about this version is just mesmerizing.
Jim wrote the song too, 100% his
They were so tight at this point love Morrison and the blues
amazing guitar solo. a great example of less is more.
ray is a machine on that solo.
one of their best songs ever. I wish i could shred a piano like ray.
Pure genius...
Long Live Jim!! The pride of Tallahassee. We love you Jimmy.
he had a much higher space than most of us have...i will always adore his poetry!
So great it's really unbelievable.oh hell ya. Blues ! She came!
17 years ago. One of the first youtube videos
Jim..
Eating whole chicken and bottles of wine phase.. he's loaded and the music is almost over
Jim lived in his own world at his own pace.
Not all rock.
50% Rock
50% Blues
That's what makes the Doors :D
love this jacket too :)
Ray is awesome
Just look at Manzarek... bass on left hand and keyboard on right hand, and after Jim died, he even sang. What amazing talent.. Nowadays, you'd have 3 people doing all that.
Robbie's slide is very distinctive. You know in one second that it's his own style
Now that's a key melting keyboard solo!🔥🤘😎
no words... just true artists.
LOL i've read that this performance was just a few days after the MIAMI incident. dude, i was born in the wrong era, THIS is rock n roll.
Love his jacket ..
Jajaja sí
That beard, so cool!
yay jim !! the only one in the entire world that totally ROCKS the bearded look !
Robbie is a bad ass.
How I love that vox continental!!!
