- Part 2 of 2 on the Dalton Highway.
Do we survive with our Class C Magnitude on the Haul Road to Prudhoe Bay, Deadhorse and above the Arctic Circle? We want to feel the Arctic Ocean and test the water but we have to take our RV up there. Do we survive the Haul Road? It's not the Ice Road Truckers doing it in winter. It's going to be a wild ride.
Taking our Class C motorhome to Alaska the Last Frontier so we can get to some remote areas and drive on roads less traveled.
We've been planning this Alaska RV road trip for over a year and we're doing it. Enough talk, let's walk! Well...we'll drive but you get the picture.
We're halfway up the Haul Road but finding our campground is proving to be a leap of faith. The signs are terrible as are the roads but we press on.
AT&T cell coverage is better than Verizon and we have coverage in the most unusual of places such as Galbreith Lake and near Pump station 2 on the Alaska Pipeline (TAPS). We see plenty of musk ox next to the Sag River and Sondra takes lots of pictures.
The last 55 miles to Deadhorse, Prudhoe Bay is like a Super Highway. It's the best road we have seen since Fairbanks. An Arctic Grizzly bear is looking for food. Maybe an Arctic squirrel?
We camp in a gravel pit but it's beautiful and the tundra is awesome. Deadhorse is a cool town and everyone is really nice. We have a Friday night dinner at the Aurora Hotel...hamburgers! I planned this really well!
We still have to head south safely before Sondra can use her Survived the Haul Road sticker.
Our RV is a Thor Magnitude so we hope it survives but the views are magnificent, awesome and stunning so the trip is a once in a lifetime event.
Our second night on the Dalton, we try to find a BLM campground at Galbraith Lake but the signage is non-existent and we're not sure where it is so we continue to try and find our stop for the night. Do we find it?
* Are we going to be on RVTV? No I don't think so.

Our Class C is built by Thor Motorcoach on a Ford F550 chassis. It's a production build Magnitude model XG32. We tow our red Jeep Wrangler Sahara behind it. We've made some modifications to it so that we can boondock comfortably. Lithium batteries, Victron 3000w multi-plus inverter, dual alternators charge while traveling and mods to the water system greatly enhance it's boondocking capabilities.
Our extreme completely custom 5th wheel is built on a semi-trailer chassis with air suspension and air brakes. Completely loaded it weighs 42,000 lbs rolling down the highway. And we do roll down the highway nearly every week. You see, we believe that if your home has wheels they should be used.
Vehicles:
2016 Volvo VNL780 "Voyager"
2016 Smart fortwo "Pathfinder"
2019 SpaceCraft Custom built semi-trailer 5th wheel "Orion"
2023 Thor Magnitude XG32 Class C "Curiosity"
2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara "Artemis"
Power system:
3250 watts of solar with Panasonic panels
30.1 KWH of Lithium batteries
2- 4K watt Magnum Inverters deliver power as if we are on shore power
2- 4K watt 240v Cotek Inverters deliver additional power for our LG Mini split HVAC and stove
Coachnet is our roadside assistance company we use but hopefully we don't use them too often. LOL

This is part 2 of 2...sort of. LOL. The first one is the video right before this one...to see how we started the journey. Link is below: ruclips.net/video/K75Gadzuwbo/видео.html
a message to all rvers , RAIN X ON THE WINDOWS FOR THE MUD , AND ROAD DIRTY ? it will keep the windows clear all the time . apply it heavy either directly to the window or pour it on a rag then wiping it on the window , letting it dry to a white haze ,it off, applying velcour to the windows edges stops dust from coming in the rv, as the dust builds up , the shaking of the rig will shake the dirt over as well.
Thanks for those suggestions/tips. Really appreciate that. I'll have to look into velcour...especially for our rear window and the compartment doors.
Arctic etc….lol. It made me smile every time David said it. Most of us will never have the opportunity to see the Arctic, so thanks for the journey!
It was lots of fun, Brenda. I don't know why but it felt so great to be in the Arctic. I was just pinching myself the whole time. Weird, huh? Glad we made you smile. Excited to have you along on the journey. 😊
Worked in PB for many years. I gained 30lbs in the first 3 months of "life on the pipeline". The food served "on station" is some of the best food in the world. For most workers, it's a free-food-fest 24hrs a day! Not exactly "diet friendly". Great memories. Those electric cords hanging from the bull-rails are for the engine-block heaters in the winter. Diesel trucks idle 24hrs in the winter and are topped off by fuel trucks. In the winter there are Ice Plinkos that form from fresh water pushing up through the ice. A beautiful place both in summer & winter. Coldest for me was -90 with a WC of -121. I had the opportunity to fly in a helo as a spotter inspecting the pipeline and it was a true adventure. Memories that last a lifetime. Enjoy! PS. When passing Semis on the road, it's best to pull over and wait. You can see their dust trail miles ahead in most cases.
Thank you for sharing. Truly a unique place which took us by surprise. The dinner at the Aurora was delicious...and I think reasonably priced given all that was offered and the quality of the food was excellent. Can't imagine WC of -121! Whenever we saw a semi (coming or going) we always pulled over to let them pass. Most slowed down for us as well to prevent rock chips. So nice. A very unexpected great stay in PB. We'll be back.
Living in Alaska since 1975 this is the best footage I have seen of the haul road and the North Slope. 26 years working as an RV technician in Alaska I have seen a lot of RVs do not as well as yours. 4WD was your salvation.
Thank you so much. Your comments mean a lot to us and we tried to do the area justice while telling the story of our journey as fulltime RVers. Really appreciate your time watching the channel.
Amazing videos on the Dalton!! I just came back from driving the Dalton solo and probably there around the same time you were. I too stayed at the Arctic Circle campground (even recognized the camp hosts Sprinter and Rangers tents in your drone footage), as well as, Galbraith Lake campground. I drove past the Galbraith Lake entrance and had to make a u-turn....thought I was going in the wrong direction until I saw the sign as it's so far off the Dalton. Also cool Galbraith Lake had cell service probably because of that little airstrip there. You brought back alot of amazing memories from my trip. Thanks for sharing your trip! Great work as these are some of the best videos I've seen on the Dalton!
Thanks, John. That signage for Galbraith Lake CG is terrible. We told them down at the Interagency in Coldfoot. Couldn't believe cell coverage there either! The Atigun Valley is spectacular and even better going south. Glad you made the trip and enjoyed the video. Safe travels
What a wonderful adventure in the Arctic. Your videos are so enjoyable to watch and it makes a person think they are right there with you. Thanks for taking all your viewers along for the ride. ❤❤❤
You're very welcome, Kay. That's what we're hoping for to give everyone a feeling of being there and sharing in our experience.
Now I know why I enjoy your channel so much, it's how well you ARTIC-ulate the journey! 😊. So glad you caught a fox on camera, they are special in Prudhoe Bay. They are white in the winter and red in summer. Looks like the food is still amazing there. Imagine those buildings with snow up to the bottom windows and to make sure the vehicles keep running, they never turn them off in the winter. Definitely recommended as bucket list experience, in the summer!
Bahaha, good one, Suzette. Glad you enjoyed it. Can't imagine how much snow and wind they get in the winter. Some days must be brutal.
My time at Prudhoe Bay was a little like yours, just a short adventure except for work with my dad when I was 19. I was an electrical apprentice in the winter for a month, pulling wire under the buildings. Frostbite was a badge of honor, lol. For a month in the summer I rotated between firewatch for the welders and lookout for the dump trucks to not hit the pipeline. In the two months of work I made enough money to pay for a full year tuition and room and board at college. My other favorite Alaska jobs are the canneries, where I worked from age 15-19. If you have a chance to visit a working cannery, it is amazing to see the operation!
I see now why people don't get my humor...keep it up...I love it
Seeing the musk ox was soooo cool‼️So was the Arctic grizzly bear‼️You made it to the Arctic Ocean- YEAH‼️‼️‼️‼️😊👍just curious- why did you have to put on footies at the restaurant? sure seemed like a nice buffet‼️David - you are too much - between your puns and your jokes😂‼️👍How does it feel to be at the top of the world? I sure am grateful for both of you and your videos‼️ I wouldn’t get to see all this without you so a HUGE THANKS‼️👍😊❤️
Hi, Linda! The Musk Ox was super cool. Booties are required because it's so muddy up there that they don't want all that dirt to get tracked in. They have a lot of pride in keeping it nice. Very cool place. Loved being in the Arctic at the top of the world. Hard to describe.
Wow, Sondra and David, wading in the Arctic 🥶 Ocean. You are becoming great Arctic 🐻❄️ explorers. We shy, timid home folks are so proud of you 👍. Keep up the great 😊 traveling. Love 💕 it, thanks 🙏.
LOL...that's all we were prepared to do...was wade into the Arctic Ocean. Brrrr....you are comfy warm in your home while we brave the elements to touch the water! 😎😯😂Appreciate your time watching the channel and as always, your comments as well.
David's smiling, laughing, positive personality is so fantastic!!! Yall have made me have an ARTCI laugh throughout this video!!!
Well, Marsha, then you have made our day! We always love it when someone gets our sense of humor. Glad you're along on the journey.
I have drove a loaded tractor trailer truck with oversized loads on that Arctic Ocean, running about 70mph. I was never able to get wet on the Arctic, it was sold as a rock. Lol
Oh my goodness! I could not imagine driving that road on ice. Hats off to you! Thanks for making the journey.
@@bigtruckbigtravels I have a small fleet of about 32 trucks, but usually only five to ten runs the haul road, I would never let my other drivers go out to the off shore rigs, because of the obvious risk involved. So I’d get them to drop their trailer in Prudhoe Bay and I’d finish the delivery out over the Arctic. I’d never send another man to do something I was afraid to do myself, because they have loving family members likewise. But I do enjoy it, I have more then 50k pictures on my phone and iPad from different places. I’m also a part time commercial aviator also, so I do get to see lots of different places.
IT’S THE ARCTIC 🥶😃😀
Thank you guys, really appreciate the video. God Bless 🙏
We really appreciate your time watching the channel and are excited to have you along on the journey. Thanks for being a part of the story.
10 out of 10 for the 'Dad' jokes, thoroughly enjoyable! Looking forwards to the remainder of this and future trips you both take and share with us!
Lol...I like your sense of humor, Meredith. I'll keep them coming.
thank you came at a good time gave me a relief from a really bad time hubby been admitted to hospital in an emergency serious condition, ( thank you NHS at least no money worries) the day before we were due to do on a nature holiday, been in hospital for 2 days came home told I needed a break and you gave it to me, For a short time I managed to relax just a bit, so again thank you
You're most welcome, Sue. I hope that everything works out and that your hubby gets back to good health soon. It's no fun being in the hospital. Glad we could be there for you. See you next week and hope you get your holiday started.
@@bigtruckbigtravels thanks maybe next year but Derek will be in hospital for a good while yet; Look forward to your next post for my wildlife fix
Glad you are enjoying our ARCTIC home. Spent seven years of my youth in Prudhoe, you brought back some memories for me. Technically to join the polar bear club you need a full immersion in the ARCTIC ocean, but you did good and more than most. I once climbed a tower at -45°below zero with forty mile an hour wind. Had to come down using my elbows in the ladder when my hands stopped working. You experienced some of the nicest weather the bay has to offer. Thanks for the memories.
I was ok to NOT join the Polar Bear Club...my "toe" dip was fine. LOL. Thanks for the comments. Can't imagine -45 on a tower! No way!
Thanks for sharing and making it through the bug invasion for us all. You captured so much wildlife. It was such fun watching your hubby's excitement for the Arctic!! Safe travels!
Thank you. I may have gone a little over the top with the Arctic references but it was just so amazing to be in the Arctic. I can't explain it. Appreciate your time watching the channel. The wildlife was incredible and very unexpected as well.
Such incredible scenery! Thank you for sharing with us! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it, Sally. Thanks for watching.
Just finished watching both of your Dalton Highway videos....that's the first time I've seen a lot of that area since 1976...after finishing 3 years of college I sat out and went to Alaska to work on the pipeline...my Dad was a charter member of Pipeliners Local 798/Tulsa...I worked a couple of summers in high school on Pipelines in Texas and Louisiana+ a couple of summers in early college yrs...in '75 I was in southern Alaska/Glennallen working...in '76 I went to Camp Dietrich south of the Brooks Range...very close to where you filmed the two rugged looking mountains with the lake in front of them...then in the middle of the summer we moved up to Galbraith Lake...that was a huge pipeline camp/1500 people...in the late summer/early Fall 🍁 I was on a very small repair crew/fixing some deficiencies in welds...we were working in the area where you stopped and flew your drone....where the haulroad and the pipeline were pretty close together...I was standing on a scaffold with my welder. one of my best friends I grew up with and his welder were on the other side welding with their backs to the haulroad...then I saw something (a huge grizzly 🐻) step up on the haul and started walking towards us...he was relatively close...I finally got my welder and my buddy's attention...I screamed I'm heading to our work bus...we all got to the bus in a minute...finally the bear decided he wasn't curious anymore and turned around and went on his way....by October/November we had moved to work on the southside of Atigun Pass...I was driving a huge welding truck back and forth across "The Pass" everyday in blowing wind 🌬, ice 🧊 and snow ❄....sub-zero temps...and there wasn't any guardrail at all then...I finished out '76 working the came back to Texas to start college again...with 2 brand new cars (one an English 🇬🇧 sports car) and a brand new 19' ski boat 🚤....as a 22-24 year old I averaged a $ 100,000 a year each year I was there....and that was in the mid 70's
Wow. Great story, Billy. Thanks for sharing. It gives us context because now all we see is the finished product...but it had to get built. And during that time, it was really remote wilderness up there. Can't imagine driving Atigun Pass in the wind, ice and snow. Hats off to you. Glad you were well compensated. Glad you're along on the journey.
@@bigtruckbigtravels ...working on the Trans-Alaskan was two of my greatest years...I saw every type of wild life except the muskox...I first heard about the North Slope oil 🛢 discovery in '68 or '69...I knew if our Union 798 got the welding I would be going...but the environment people held it up + plus they had to design how to do it....camp life was great, wonderful food, transportation, brand new camps with maid service/cleaning our rooms and changing bedding daily...being a lot of Southern boys there we had lot's of musicians, dances (yes, there were lots of girls/women working there too)...a movie theater and recreation room...BBQ's, softball and basketball 🏀 goals around camp...we had a HUGE 200th anniversary 4th of July party in '76...I bought my first guitar 🎸 on a small R&R trip back to Texas so I started learning how to play to spend my time (I now have 6 guitars)....southern Alaska was beautiful in the Fall 🍁🍂...the 2nd year I was north of the tree line so I never got to see the trees, but the "Arctic" tundra turns to the Fall colors...
Loved seeing the Arctic Ocean. Dipping your toe in--that's all I would want to do. LOL
LOL, no kidding, Phyllis. It was COLD! If we had been thinking of submerging ourselves then the thought vanished as soon as the toe hit the water!
OMG If i hear "ARTIC" Again I'm going to lose it LOL Great job, another awsome video!
LOL...I will spare you..but it was soooo cool. Appreciate your time watching the channel. Thank you very much.
Just watched again and the video of all the animals with breathtaking! I would have gone crazy! So beautiful. Brava, Sondra, you outdid yourself filming 🎉
Glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you taking the time to watch the channel...again! 😆 🤣 Sondra does enjoy taking wildlife pics.
@@bigtruckbigtravels She has an “Eye” for photography! Gets better and better! So often, you miss allot the first time you watch. Especially the Alaska Series. The second time is actually better!
I imagine once the two of you get back to the lower 48, you won't ever complain about the conditions of the roads. Lol. You guys crack me up talking about the Arctic. Lol. The wildlife and scenery are amazing!! You guys be very careful.
Thanks, Deborah. And you are sooo correct. This has given us a new appreciation for the roads down in the lower 48. It's amazing what you start to take for granted. Appreciate your comment.
Wow!!
Who would have guessed a “bulk feeder for $22 bucks” in the Arctic.
The salad bar looked appetizing.
You guys made us laugh.
First, David’s Arctic references.
Secondly, cool & tingling toes from the Arctic Ocean dip.
Third, the rock & hard place reference.
With all the gravel roads you’ve been on, I was surprised that this was the only occasion that a pebble got into the brake linings.
Thank-you for taking us along and sharing another wonderful episode.
Have fun and stay safe.
Regards,
Ken
We've been very fortunate on the rocks. The salad bar was unexpected and a welcome sight! Appreciate your time watching the channel. Thanks for your comments.
What an amazing trip through the ARTIC...lol...so beautiful. I loved the video, Alaska is so beautiful. I watch alot of videos of Alaska mostly of cruising, but now this is really seeing Alaska. The Dalton Hwy is kinda scary but beautiful. I would have fears of having car or camper trouble and you would just have to pray for a safe journey. I will watch the rest of your videos tomorrow. It is amazing the way they have done the pipeline and the way the workers live. Amazing video, loved it. can't wait to see the rest of your adventures.
Thank you, Robin. It's very remote and that freaked us out a little in the beginning. We took it easy to help insure we would have no issues (never any guarantees). Glad you're enjoying the channel. Really appreciate you watching and commenting.
You get the same bug problem Scandinavia. North Cape in Norway N71°10'10.14" E25°46'56.36" has a paved road most of the way and it's 60 miles further North than Prudhoe Bay.
Yes, I believe that is the furthest north highway in the world. So cool! Thank you.
Wow, such an awesome trip..so you finally found some wildlife, thanks so much for show us, as it truly was awesome! I can never get enough of this kind of country, so I can only hope I can get up there again. Last trip to Alaska was with an Arctic Fox slide in camper, in our F450 4x4 King Ranch pickup, and I might just get another, as I certainly won't take our current Tiffin Phaeton along the highway! Now to catch up on so many other of your video's...thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I think the truck camper is the way to see Alaska if you want to really SEE Alaska. So much wilderness!
Thank you for taking me along. I used to watch the Ice road truckers. But l feel blessed l got to see the Artic Ocean
I loved that show!!
It was really neat to be in the same area and on the same road. Amazing what those guys drove and in those conditions.
Worked at a camp called Franklin Bluff 50 miles south of Prudhoe Bay building that road going south. It was one of the largest camps at the time. The bank at Prudhoe was a single wide trailer.
That's too funny! Great story during that time of the build. That must have been very unique being that environment. Very remote.
I felt like l was right there with you. What beautiful scenery and the wildlife. Just gorgeous. Thank you so much for the tour❤
Glad you enjoyed it and you're very welcome. We enjoy sharing our experiences and excited to have you along on the journey.
The buildings are on stilts/pilings, so the heat from the buildings won't melt the tundra below, same with most of the pipeline as the oil is heated for the trip to Valdez.
In cities/tiny town in the north country/Canada even the septic systems are above ground and are insulated, and sometimes they are heated.
Thank you. Yes, you are correct. It's amazing the engineering that goes into these structures to protect the permafrost but also the structures themselves.
Your documentary of the Alaskan adventure is epic. Thank you!
Thanks, Kathy. More a "documentary" of our RV lifestyle and the current "tour" we're on this summer. Really appreciate your comments and time watching the channel. It sure feels epic!
You are both so cute. What a thrill it is to be in the Artic!!! Wish I was there too. Enjoy the extraordinary experience and wishing you safe travels. Love your vlogs.❤
Thank you. But you were there with us as we share these experiences together.... and in some cases, you're warmer! 😆
So incredible!! Your adventures to the Arctic Ocean was just absolutely breathtaking. I felt every pebble and bump with you. So glad you did it and didn’t rush and rush back. Thank you thank you!! What a journey!! 🗻🏔️🦊🦌
Thanks, Teresa. We were so thankful that we didn't rush it on this part of the journey. The remote wilderness was amazing and all the water on the tundra was incredible to me. Appreciate your time watching the channel. 😃
"I know why I feel so high:" it's all that beautiful Alaska scenery. This makes for great Christmas time viewing, even the 2nd time around. ❤
😆 thanks for the multiple viewings. It does make for relaxing viewing.
Congrats to dip in the ARTIC Water. Just looking at you its perfectly fine for us!! Stay safe and Thanks again for this amazing video!
Thanks 👍Marco. hahaha. That water was COLD! Not sure I'd be doing anything more than a toe dip! Appreciate the comment. Aloha
I glad you enjoyed your trip without any problems. Just an FYI, Hatchers Pass Road is open and the road is in good shape. We drove it today with guests up from the lower 48. As far as cellular service goes there are two fiber optic cables and a mountain top microwave system that parallel the highway that make for that to happen.
Hmmm....we may have to alter our schedule to get up to Hatcher Pass later this summer. It was unexpected to have cell coverage as much as we did.
Really enjoying your videos! Lived "North of 60" for 30 years. Always fly-in. The mosquitos can be a misery. Went swimming in Hudson Bay. Once. The buildings are off the ground because of the permafrost. Remarkable to see that many barren ground grizzlies. Never saw one, only polar bears.
Thanks for sharing, Richard. It's a remarkably cool area to visit. Can't believe you went swimming in the Hudson Bay...brrrr...with the Polar Bears!
Thank you for another fantastic trip. I really appreciate being able to ride along with you and share your adventures. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, Noah. We're excited to have you along and share in our experiences. Appreciate your time watching the channel.
Congratulations you two!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Woohoo! Thank you. It was amazing.
I ❤❤❤ how David kept using the word arctic. Thank you for letting me tag along on your adventures in the ARCTIC.
We were excited and thought it was funny. Glad you're along on the journey and enjoyed the video.
I LOVE SEEING ALL THE WILDLIFE I CANT WAIT TILL NEXT SUMMER WHEN I BUY MY PROPERTY IN NORTH IDAHO ANNAMAY
Beautiful state and area. You'll enjoy it. Thanks
Awsome guys. Wow the mosquitoes 🦟 are infiltrating the rig with it buttoned up.
Yes, believe it or not, we believe they are coming in through the slide tops. They congregate under the slides and slide toppers and find their way inside. We've started to put towels behind the slide molding and it seems to work.
When my wife was a kid back around 1970 her parents would take road trips out west. Only had maps and she said they ended up going down logging roads not really knowing where they would end up. When she watched this I could tell it bright those memories back. We’re newbies so I told her maybe in a few years we can go for it.
Definitely go for it and you'll know when the timing is right. We enjoy it. Always had family camping trips so a lot of good times.
Drinking game: Take a drink every time "Arctic" is mentioned. Good luck!
LOL...I think you'd be trashed within 5 minutes of the video. LOL. That's funny. Thank you.
I thought she was going to put that muskrat, you were definitely have to get that on camera. 😂😂
That bear you seen, was a Kodiak bear that was not a grizzly bear. Grizzlies are more brown, and their ears are more laid-back, and their head is smaller. Kodiak bears seem to be a little more active and hyper. But keep your distance they won’t hurt you. 😉
It was definitely a big bear, Alexander. We had not seen one with that color before either. Thank you very much for the comment.
Awesome video. Stay Safe and Keep Making Awesome Memories
Thank you. We like to travel so the memories will keep coming. Glad you're along on the journey. 😊
I love your videos! Thank you for posting.
Thank you for watching! Appreciate your time with the channel.
Pretty interesting when POLAR BEAR wander into town!
That would be cool to see, Joseph.
David, you and Sondra make watching RUclips videos such an enjoyable experience. My wife and I love your "down to earth, honest" videos.
We RV a lot but are not YET full-timers. Alaska is on our list but we won't be venturing up the Dalton highway. So, thank you very much for showing us that beautiful area.
I feel like we were "in the ARTIC!!" 😂😂😂😂
Thank you, Jeffrey. And you "were" in the Arctic! We're excited that you're along on the journey. We really appreciate your comments and the time you spend watching the channel. Glad that you enjoyed it.
Amazing, thanks Guys never been to Alaska but through your cameras I can say I have, lol.
Glad you're along on the journey. See you next week. 😁
Wow wow wow. What a trip!! The scenery was spectacular - and thanks for sharing it with us. Takes a special breed of person to live and work up there, I’d think. Regardless of the financial compensation!!
That is no doubt about that. Everyone we met was really nice and enjoyed chatting about their lifestyle up there. Mosquitoes in the summer and -50 degrees in the winter! Definitely a different breed of person but they all enjoyed it for work and liked the 3 weeks on/off shifts. It's very different to what we're used to down in the lower 48. Glad you enjoyed it.
I was descending a large hill on a short stretch of washboard last weekend while going camping in our Prevost and all I could think of was the roads you were showing in the last video. I am glad it was not for miles and miles like you two are experiencing.
Driving the Dalton, Joeseph, has really made me appreciate all the paved roads in the lower 48 states!
Great videos! Thank you!!
Thanks, Tom. Glad you're along on the journey.
Beautiful, arctic video, what a journey, safe travels!
Thank you very much. Glad you're enjoying it too. It's been an awesome trip...but there is more to come!
Another awesome video. Thank you! I look forward to seeing them every week. Safe travels.
Thank you, Jerry. We'll see you later this week.
So glad you are enjoying yourself. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you. We are enjoying the summer and the trip is extremely scenic.
Thanks for another great video.
Thanks for watching! You're very welcome. Glad you're along on the journey.
Thanks for the update
You're welcome, Scott. It was a great trip and very unique. Appreciate your comment.
Awesome 👏
Thank you! Cheers!
Artic artic artic 😂😂😂 and David's dad jokes so much fun you both are such a delight to watch loving your vlogs . Cheers from the South Island of New Zealand .
Thanks, Gail. Loved being in the Arctic! It's just so cool to say that you're in the Arctic! Arctic you impressed?!? 😆 🤣 😂
Really enjoyed your views and adventure sharing of your Alaska adventure….. my wife and I took a Alaska cruise, but didn’t see 1/4 of what you did…. It’s fantastic….
I think to see Alaska, George, you have to go by land and sea. You're halfway there! We want to take a cruise one day up the inside passage.
Greatest episode in this trip! It looks so cool to be up in the … where was that again?? 😂
🤔😂😎 Not sure...I'll have to look at our travel logs....Thanks for the comment and spending time watching the channel.
Where are you David ? Oh the Artic. lol. Now I can say that I have been to the Artic. Thanks for the journey
I hid where we were located pretty well, eh?!? NOT! 😂🤣thanks
Thanks for sharing 😊
You're welcome. Thanks for watching the channel.
Now we don’t have to do it! We’ve lived in Yukon our whole life and been to Alaska many times. We need to go South and experience it.
Oh yeah! South it is and we will be there! Soon...
What an amazing adventure !! I so want to do this in the future. Thanks for the inspiration!!
You're welcome, Tom & Missy. It's definitely a bucket list trip for most. Beautiful state. Good luck on your plans. Glad to have you along on the journey.
Wow beautiful country for sure. I love the wild life pictures you took in the Artic. Stay safe and happy travels.

Absolutely magnificent!
Thank you, Paula. We really enjoyed the trip. At first it was all about getting to the Arctic Ocean but as we journeyed further it became much more. The whole area was just so amazing that it was a great experience in so many ways.
Great editing, enjoyed following along

Thanks, Michelle. It was quite the adventure! Being in the Arctic was so amazing that it is hard to describe. We appreciate your time watching the channel. Tomorrow's video should have some epic views on an historic road.
Wow. Just another amazing video. I am truly enjoying your Journey.
Thanks, Charles. It was an amazing trip. We were truly sorry that it was over...now, we don't miss the mosquitoes but it was such a special route to take and visit up in the Arctic. Glad you're along on the journey.
Just fantastic! It is artically-amazing!
🤔🤣😂😁😎
Thanks for another great video! Your photography is fabulous! It's got us motivated to get up there! Thanks! ❤
You're welcome. It's a fabulous trip. Glad you're along on the journey.
You’re aerial views are the best I’ve ever seen and I’m addicted to watching your journey. Thanks for sharing!!
Stay safe friends!!!
Thank you very much. We enjoy sharing our experiences and glad to have you along on the journey.
Fantastic place. Thanks for letting me tag along👍
Anytime, Mary...hey, how about next week too?!? Glad you're along on the journey.
I LOVED this video! My son & DIL work for one of the oil companies in the Prudhoe Bay/Deadhorse area and I’ve never seen extensive video of the area. They are still up there working, hopefully coming home soon!
Thank you for the video.
Thank you. We really enjoyed the area (much more than we anticipated). I mean, it's just a commercial oil "town" but it has a certain charm to it. Everyone was really nice and very pleasant. Glad you enjoyed it and excited to have you along on the journey. I think everyone is on a 3 week shift (3 on and 3 off). Hope they come home soon!
Normally, this is true, but due to the recent Willow oil drilling project approved by the Biden administration back in March, they are spending a longer stretch up there than normal. Plus they bought a little cabin down on the Kenai so they don’t always come home for all their time off in the summer. I sure miss them, so I may have to take a trip up there myself!
Great video in the "Arctic"!
Thank you, Gary. It was an epic trip for us and truly amazing.
I'm very proud of you both for walking into the water
Brrrr, William. Thank you very much. It was very cold!
The mountains and the views!!!!
We weren't expecting those kinds of views!
Just think David, You have had an Arctic Burger!!!!😂
That's the cold, hard facts, Bill! Arctic you impressed with that?!? 😆
Arctic David , we hear you lol
Love the Arctic, Kristina! Woohoo!
Thank you for sharing your trip up to The ARCTIC! The scenery and wildlife looked gorgeous and your music choices were inspiring. I have always wanted to drive up to The ARCTIC, and now that I am retired, it may happen. 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it, Diane! We loved traveling up there. The road is not great but it's ok if you take it slow. Truckers are super nice. Love being in the Arctic! Thank you for watching the channel. 😁
Excellent Video!! Thanks!! Got to make that trip soon.
Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed it. The trip took us by surprise in that we didn't realize how beautiful the scenery would be and the wildlife that we would encounter. Definitely a trip to be taken in the future...we'll be back sometime.
Have totally enjoyed your drive on the Dalton to the ARCTIC. 😁
Gee, Pam...where was our trip to? Did you say the ARCTIC?!? yeah, I thought so! 😯😎🤣 It's been a blast so far. Glad you're along on the journey.
I've never seen so many moose! Thanks for taking us along on your epic Arctic trip!
LOL...well, it is Alaska! It was a fun trip. Appreciate your time watching the channel.
Your videos just keep getting better and better. You captured the true essence of the Haul Road. When you rush you miss the life there.
That is so true and the reason why we drove the RV and stayed more than just a few days. We weren't expecting the Haul road to be so scenic! It was gorgeous.
Great ARCTISTIC Video!! Wonderful sights.....
Thank you so much. We love to share our travel experiences and are excited that you enjoyed it. Appreciate you watching the channel and hope to see you each week. Aloha
What an Arctic adventure!
Brr. Dipping your toes in the Arctic Ocean.
Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you for watching, Cheryl. Couldn't do anymore than a toe! Glad you're along on the journey.
Another great episode! I love your enthusiasm and appreciation for all you see. Now when I see David I will automatically think 'ARCTIC'! lol. Looking forward to your trip to Fairbanks, thanks for sharing your adventures with us all.
Thank you, Carol. Fairbanks will be nice for a change but we really enjoyed the wilderness of the....get ready...Arctic! LOL. Glad you're along on the journey.
Lovely music towards the end of this video, thanks 🙏.
Thanks, Harrison. I try.
Another amazing video. Looks like you were in the Arctic!!!! Dave was so excited!!!! Lol! The scenery is just amazing!
Gee, Melinda...I didn't hear that....did you say we were in the ...ARCTIC?!? Yeah...I thought you did! LOL. The only thing better would have been an ARCTIC Whataburger!
@@bigtruckbigtravels we have never had a Whataburger. We are from CT and now live in FL. We don’t have them. But when we ever travel to TX we will stop for sure….😃
musk ox how cool!!!
It was super cool, Lisa. It's not an animal you can see in the Lower 48 so very exciting for us.
Are you really in the « artic? »…oh really😂😂😂😂😂 you had an amazing time - we are doing the Dempster in a few weeks, and are really impressed by your video…and what you saw (animals…wow). Can’t wait :-) Great job! Remi (Quebec Canada)
Thank you, Remi. LOL...not sure where we were, it was such a blur!🤣😁😂😎 That's exciting about doing the Dempster in a few weeks. I'll be curious what you think of it and the condition of the road. We're thinking about it. Glad you're along on the journey.
Wow, you were at the top of the world. You two aré adventurers. Congratulations!
Thank you... well, we were near the top. But almost as far as you can go in a vehicle. It was an amazing experience.
We are watching Ice Road Truckers in honor of your drive!!
OK...that's pretty cool. Maybe some of the scenery will look familiar?!? LOL. Appreciate the comment.
Thanks so much for the video. It was awesome watching y’all have fun and wanting to look into buying a motorhome similar to yours always wanted to go to Alaska. Been wanting to find more people with that same motorhome and see how they like it. It’s always good to have everyone’s opinion, the ups and the downs of the RV again, thank you so much for such a great video.
Thanks, Edward. So many RV's with so many different strengths...and weaknesses. We did some research and thought this model for the money was the model best suited to our needs for this trip. Appreciate your watching the channel and commenting.
