My dad made candy apples for our elementary school carnival every year. Lots. No bubbles and no feet on the bottom. Entire apple was covered. Haven't seen that kind of perfection since then.
@@reeldirtiestudiosjust need more candy then in this video to get a good dip. If he was making lots of them he probably had a big old pot of the stuff.
Oh my god 😂loved the video but love the guy who walked in the background like “😦” 🤣 noticed it on the first viewing of this! Great apples 🍏 by the way 👍🏾
Can i add flavoring to the candy? If so, what would you use? Also, have you thought about cutting the apples into 4 cuts? Then dip the cuts into the candy?
Also, I asked online years ago that how to make candy apples without the peeling if some people don't like apple peels. The answer came from a chef and he said to dip the apples in lemon juice (after peeling, of course) before dipping in candy apple coating and then scoff at the people that told you you couldn't do it.
If I want to keep them on the counter and not in the fridge, is that okay? How long can I keep them in paper? and if I don't have a candy thermometer, do I leave it on the stove for 12 to 15 minutes or more?
That was cute but did you wash your apples first in hot water, it remove the wax from the apples? By doing so it prevent bubbles from forming on the candy apples just as they did at the end of your video.
I made six candy apples two times following your recipe, they came out perfect the candy was hard my wife loved them. The third time the candy came out sticky with a lot of bubbles what did I do wrong.
That depends on what temp the sugar solution got to. There's like 7 different constitutions the sugar can have that are used for different candy purposes. For candy apples you usually want the hard Crack stage (300-310) If you are successful the sugar coating should cool into a hard candy like a lollipop. If you over or undershoot it, it might be sticky like caramel, or even just runny like maple syrup.
I need to make about 25 candy apples how much ingredients do I need. I made some using your receipt and my wife love them. She have me now making some for the church.
some people use gel food coloring I guess it doesn't matter I am going to make mine swirl color I use whatever food colring I want like red blue pink and some white food coloring in the mix and make them swirl and sell them for $5 each
Would you do a video on how to make caramel apples from scratch also? I am looking for a really good caramel that I can make that will set up very well on apples. I don’t want to use the wrapped caramels but I want to make some from scratch. Can you help? Love your videos. Thanks for doing them.
I know this is old, but I wanted to reply to your comment. Make sure to wash your apples good to remove the wax from them so your caramel sticks well. Use 4 cans of Nestlé La Lechera Dulce Leche with caramel in a pot and pour in 3/4 cups of heavy whipping cream and stir on low/simmer heat and make sure to constantly stir until mixture is like a pourable mix. The Nestlé La Lechera Dulce Leche with caramel makes caramel apples better in my opinion. Use digital thermometer if you want to, to make sure it doesn't go over 150. Now dip those apples and enjoy!🍏😋🤗
Those candy apples looked great. I also liked how she kept a neat and clean counter top area and the entire kitchen area was clean throughout the whole entire video. No nasty pets running around in the kitchen, that was great, really great because if there had been some running around in the kitchen that would've ruined the whole entire video for me, maybe not for anyone else, but it would've certainly ruined it for me. Cats and dogs don't belong in the kitchen period. Great video.
if store bought apples.. Make sure to wash them off ( and dry ) before starting. they waxthem in stores , and the candy dosen't stick to good to them with the wax.
Great recipe thanks pal but uhm how might one get the remaining candy stuff off the pot?.... and maybe the stovetop?..... or counter?..... or their hands?.....

What that's called is a false memory they were probably very sloppy but you as a child were Uber impressed

That candy apple looks good
If I put them in the fridge so they dry faster is it a good idea or do they have to stay in room temperature?..
o my!! bubbles everywhere..
Absolutely essential halloween treat love them thank you
Beautiful 🍎 apples

Scott K good old fashion cinnamon candies ( Red Hots) They work like a champ♥️
You can use Lor•Ann's oil flavorings, they work REALLY well
RED HOT CANDIES... taste like hot cinnamon sticks
or Red Jolly Ranchers candies
what candy do you put in yours? and what candy can i put in mine any red kind of hard candy or soft? twizzlers work?
No candy the sugar and syrup are the candy use food coloring for colors
We used to put Red Hot Candy in ours...
tasted like Hot Cinnamon
What temp or number on electric stove are you cooking the sugar miixture?
I choose to. Use butter instead. Comes out delicious
Way better than 30-45 min articles that breakdown the social constructs surrounding the inevitable rise of candied apples.

We don’t have corn syrup in the uk .what can we substitute for it please?

looks good.
How do u prep the apples. Every video I saw was pleasing them in hot water and they wait for 48hr before covering the apple.
48 hours!!!! Why? Just make sure they're dry.
2:47 man said walk in walk out let’s go work.
Video bombed at 2:45! lol! But...beautiful apples!
Question ??
How do you clean the Candy residue out of the pan afterwards ????
Yu saved my life and my candy apples 😩🙏🏼❤️
Did u get the wax off the apples
Thank you so much for uploading your recipes candy apples. Looks yummy 🍏🍎x
I do love some candy apples
i have made these, very good recipe, keep at high heat through out to prevent nasty crystalization mess,(my first attempt lol) stir occasionally.
Straight to the point

how do you wrap them to sell?
Those look beautiful and so delish!!! 😋 yumm
Makin these tonight for the kids! : )
They look amazing great job...
Yummy for my tummy I am gonna try to make them candie apples, thank you.
Hi. thanks for the recipe. How to ensure that the candy become toffee and not fo hard.
I love you great recipe
NICE
bro this is 1080p 10 years ago the quality of the video is insane!
My candy starts to harden before I’m done coating the apples any advice on how to prevent this or fix it?
work faster
Me and my friend are havin a horror movie date. Im so making these but I have braces.. So Imma slice the apples and dip em on in.. Lol bite sized 👌
Marvellous doing them now with my kids...Thankyou.
How do u cut it though 😅 I’ve been searching all morning on best way to cut candied (not Carmel) apple & can’t find a way 😬
Usually you just eat it like a turkey leg. No cutting involved.
and if you want to see no green apples, then pour some candy over the tops as well.
And then add the Candy would that work?
My candy coating isn't as thick, what should I do?
So what if you don't 'have' a thermometer...of any kind?
First video I'VE seen
Just straight to the point and efficient...hate videos with unecessary talk and long chat...
making these today!
Love it simple im glad I came here cause the others make it so hard
I made six candy apples two times following your recipe, they came out perfect the candy was hard my wife loved them. The third time the candy came out sticky with a lot of bubbles what did I do wrong.
ur apples were either not dried all the way or wax was still on them.. normally when cleaned properly & completely dry - no bubbles 😉😉
@@tikaboomitchell33
you didn't say anything in the video about how we're supposed to clean the apples... that is good advice though.
@@JudiChristopher its in the video description Step 2 how to choose your apples
What does it mean if the colour just runs off?
You didn't clean the wax off the apple good enough.
Looks yummy😋😋😋😋
Does the candy dry hard or soft?

Would love to make a 'healthy' candy coated apple. Any ideas? I am reducing or eliminating sugar, perhaps there are sugar substitutes?
They're candy coated apples...just eat and enjoy them for what they are.
All the ingredients of the candy are basically pure sugar, i don’t think a substitute is possible.
I need to make about 25 candy apples how much ingredients do I need. I made some using your receipt and my wife love them. She have me now making some for the church.
Use 4 cups suger 2 cups water 2 cups corn syrup
She made 4 so multiply her recipe by 7 and you’ll have more than enough.
What can I use if I dont have corn syrup
Maple syrup
@@Jaguar1314
NO.... that would make it a total different taste...
2:48 the ghost haha
What temperature do you leave the ingredients to boil on?
310
will this be HARD candy?
YES

hi my birthday is on Halloween and I was wondering if you can make me some candy apples about 5 or 7 of them
Hello Ms. Do you clean all the wax off your apples before you dip them?
You don’t have to stir that while it’s heating up ? I wanna try this
no stirring required
Nice
I made it exactly. But it's not coating my apples properly. What am I doing wrong? 😢
Did you wash your apples or put them in the fridge the night before you I was told there's wax on the apple

I added citric acid to make them sour and it burned, I don't know if that's the cause
You need to get him to walk in on everyone of your videos
I tried this and my candy apples came out so hard!
Yes... that is right... it's supposed to be like hard candy.
Thank you!!! Finally, a recipe for just a few. Do you need to bathe the apples to remove residue?
My food coloring ruined the candy and then quickly burned and made everything bitter. Any suggestions?
Is there a cinnamon version of this recipe? I remember having candy apples growing up in Hawaii that tasted sort of like a fire stick Jolly Rancher.
Black Hole Rainbow use hot Tom candies
RIGHT... I thought it was Red Hot Candies...
Fire stick jolly rancher... that sounds good too.
just add a little cinnamon flavoring...or throw some red hot candies into the pot
Can i use green food coloring so that they will match with apples? Just asking please don't get nad at me
Yes you can, any color is fine
I want a candied apple too
We used to put RED HOT Candies in ours...
it tastes like Hot Cinnamon sticks.

Wow amazing! I will definitely try this 👍🏻stay connected my dear 👍🏻
