- Author James B. Mills joins me to discuss his book, "Billy the Kid: El Bandido Simpatico," and his upcoming book, "In the Days of Billy the Kid: The Lives and Times of Jose Chavez y Chavez, Juan Patron, Martin Chavez, and Yginio Salazar," as well as our ideas about what happened on the night of July 14, 1881.

Hey im glad u are doing this
I like all old west history but The Kid is number #1
Agreed!
I agree, people like Jesse James and John Wesley Hardin were kind of psychos LOL
I have spent very much time in Hunter S Thomsons old place in Sausalito. He used to shoot his gun out the balcony
My kind of crazy, lol. Did you see the film Where the Buffalo Roam? Perhaps more entertainment than reality, but I thought it worth the watch. Been a long time since I saw it.
I enjoyed the interview. I also like the first Young Guns movie best. It was actually filmed in New Mexico and the sequel was filmed in Arizona.
The opening scene in young guns 2 is one of my favorite openings of any movie.
Great way to start the morning, if a bit early for a Nasty Dude like me. Terrific conversation with Mr. Mills, and thanks for making that happen for us all, Cardi K!
Yes! Thanks for being here! Thanks to James Mills for coming on!
Excellent book with some great research. Bravo!
Nice interview. I would love to hike around Lincoln and explore old Billy locations.
Great interview🤠🤘
Really enjoyed the commentary about what happened July 15th, and the plausibility of the whole Paulita thing.
Thanks Kim!
Thanks for the video. Nice discussion about Billy's sweethearts.
Just for the record: quinte recently, I found that one of Billy's senoritas mothered a baby (female) in 1882. 😊
more details about C's offspring??
So this is where all you horse thiefs are hanging out now!!! Glad to see so many of the old gang still alive and well. God Bless All of You!!!
I knew the whereabouts of our new hideout would get to ya via the “outlaw grapevine”
Wow, good job James.
Love the history , always learning new stuff, so cool thanks chap's
El Bandido Simpatico is a fantastic book! Great interview and show!
Thanks so much!
james is the best! a new huge fan. i love his natural command of the history, and hid gritty i dont give a f*k style
That's probably because I don't give a f*k lol 😉
Interesting interview!
Thanks, both of you, for this cool interview, and of course for the book (to both of you again 😉). Also looking forward to discovering the new literary baby! It's true that one does not need to live in a place (in their current lifetime...) to be passionate about its History. But imo, like James Cardi K said, the spirit of this place is a definite plus to fully breathe in the magic of the Land of Enchantment... And some people can actually feel the layers of its history when they roam the land. Also, 'in my book', nothing is per chance, nor a coincidence, and the fact that James B. Mills writes from Australia is an interesting link to something not too many people seem to have taken seriously so far: Australia might have been where Billy's sister ended up moving.
On another note, thanks James B. Mills for mentioning Cabeza de Baca's book on Vicente Silva, I didn't know about it. And here's another 'coincidence': I've noticed, while checking it out on Amazon, that one of the translators' last name is... Mills ☺ Más agua para mi molino...
Also, what if I told that I know a kind of time machine? I'm afraid only Cardi K. would follow me on this one though, haha...
Mills' future article about the gem Dead Man sounds great. There was a before and an after for me when I saw it eons ago at a film festival I worked for in Spain.
What would we be without books and movies... Please, 'Santiagos al cuadrado', keep creating great content like this, in any shape or form you'd like, for I know we'll be in for a treat!
Billy the kid with aussie bogan style story telling. What more can I ask for? Bought the book 🤷♂️.
No bogan though, ha. Bogans barely read, let alone write.
Thank you both! Really enjoyed the interview! Looking forward to the new book too!
Maybe he took his boots of early not to disturb the Maxwells in the middle of the night when hi was going for a beef?
bandido simpatico is the best book on billy there is.
