Awesomeness Tony buddy 💖🙌✌️🙏👑
Thanks man
Top notch again buddy , I tend to avoid smart repairs in my little shop but might try up a few again
It’s worth it for little jobs like this mate and small bumper corner jobs ect
You are a life saver. I'm a 1st year apprentice and I've got to blend tomorrow. Metallic silver as well 🤦♂️ my tradesman is off so I've got to do it. I'm alright at painting but we use direct gloss. And my boss wants me to lacquer it afterwards which I've not done for ages.
hey buddy thats awesome mate and so glad i could help you out mate hope all goes well for you
Nicely done 👌🏻
Thankyou sir
Thank you for the video very informative see you soon

@@TonysRefinishingTV no problem mate,
Another cracking job Tony on countdown to next Friday now 👌🤟👍
Well there may be a mid week one of your lucky lol
Even better 😃
Very nice job. Looks like this technique could work on a section of a hood.
It could mate if you had a good line to use but personally I’d prefer not to blend the middle of a bonnet / hood
Great job slow hand
Haha thanks buddy good to see you hear again fella
Perfect
Thanks Richard and thanks for the membership to mate 🙏
@@TonysRefinishingTV no problem at all
Great news Tony, see you later 🤗👊
you shall john
Beautiful as always Tony, but now I have to Google how large a 2 pound coin is 😉🇺🇸
Oh lol sorry man about 1” buddy if that’s helps
Hi mate great video.
I do a couple of smart repairs in a week and I've been using the paint gun that you've had a review on.(impact junior 1.3)and it's spot on so thanks for that.
I also was woundering what clear coat would you recommend for smart repairs ?
Hope you having a great day.
Cheers
I’d go for something like mipa cx4 or the octoral c450 tbh theee express fast drying clears
was that samday for the polish or few hrs after please
A handy tip T dog.. mostly for the DIY guys and those fast jobs that don't get a full bake.. when polishing out the blend on the top... use the lefthand side of the mop, not the right.. right can drag clear into the fresh coat.. if you use left side of polisher it will only drive the clearcoat into the original paint and improve the blend.. Ja get me? you want thee rotation of the pad starting on fresh and pushing into old.. not vice versa.. Ja Get me! 👌😬😂
Yeah I guess you have a point there fella not had any issues myself either way tbh I always make sure the blend area is well scotched to avoid issues
Fantastic as always mate, how long between finishing clear & compound
30min bake at 60c buddy
What speed do you have your polisher on Tony? Nice repair, would never have thought of clearing over that decal to be honest, but that come out spot on 👍
Thanks Scott and usually just above the lowest speed mate slow and steady
I think laying the clear over the sticker is a far better way to do it anyway than have a new one stuck on after, as you then protect it from the elements, help stop it fading and peeling off ect
Very true mark
Great video tony looks amazing. Can you recommend any polishers and what size do you go for 150mm ?
Mines from amazon mate both ours in the shop are tbh just your regular cheap rotary polished off there mate and yes 150mm mate
@@TonysRefinishingTV thanks mate mine is a bit to big
No problem at all mate have a nice weekend fella
👍👏👏
Hi Tony hope you well.
I was woundering what filler and high build primer could be used on plastic bumpers . Can normal body filler be used ?
Yes mate
Make great videos keep up the great work and I have a question for you know how in US restorations are very popular and Europe are restorations popular or are they kind of like not so much popular they're just like I don't know how to explain it but
Thanks mate and sorry I don’t quite understand the question buddy I’m afraid
@@TonysRefinishingTV my question is that I don't know but if you know that restorations are a big thing here in the United States how about in Europe are restorations common or not really
Ah now I understand and yes mate we’ve got quite a few restoration jobs on in our shop so have a lot of other shops I know
Only me leaving yet another comment for your pleasure 😁😎
You mentioned in your video that you had just finished your editing PC Tony, was just wondering how it was going and was it worth the huge outlay building the PC, so has it made editing your vids easier and quicker? I know how time consuming this job can be.
Yeah mate it made a massive difference not only to the time but also how I can edit and make videos better but it seems the more I put in a video and the better I edit it the less views there getting these days so feel like throwing in the towel with it atm if I’m honest
It would be a huge loss to not only yourself but also to people like me who have learnt a lot from your videos, don't be to hasty to chuck it all in on here Tony as I think you will regret it down the line, you have spent years building up this channel and put a lot of cash into the equipment needed to run the channel which would no longer be used.
I think a lot of the problems you are having is that we are no longer getting any notifications of new content on here which will have a big effect on your viewing figures.
Why don't you go back to basics a little for a while, just do a few vids with minimal editing and just show us what you are doing and use voice over and on screen text where needed and I'm sure your regulars will still be here watching anything you put out, I know I will but whatever you do Tony don't stress over it mate 🙏👌👍
Hello, would this work on a very sharp swage line?
Yes Tom I’d done correctly
No matter what I do on my Black civic the edge peels back. I've redone it 4 times. What am I doing wrong? I usually color cut the next day per the manufacturers Tech data sheet. I am in 90 temps and using a slow reducer.
Do you key the area where your putting the edge mate ? And it does sound like it could still be soft to me
Not suprised you didn’t remove the decal, I priced one up from main dealer and sure it was like £90 a side, what mop you using big T
mad isnt it price wise and a cheap amazon one mate two for £100
Hi there.
Is it true if the whole panel is not keyed up for clear coat it will peel of after a period of time.
Or is it alright to blend it in and use fade out thinner?
Thanks
I would always prep the blend area regardless otherwise I think it will fail if it’s not prepped mate
After the clear coat you dry it over night before you polish it?
You could bake it or leave it overnight yes
Can I do this to repair a deep scratch ?
You can do this for any type of damage if it’s small enough yes mate
'It's really easy' he said 'nothing to it really' he said or something like that!! 😱 Yeah right, you make it look easy mate if I was to do that half the decal would be black from overspray 😁 great job as always. Oh my lights are done, I went from 2 small 2foot 2k lumens to 2 5foot 4K lumens (don't forget my booth is small) so went from a warm colour to a daylight colour, it's strange when I turn them on it's like opening a door or walking outside rather than switching on a light, one downside is that I can now see even more crap in my paint! 😭🤣🙏👍
Lol they will be loads better to paint under though mate and I’m sure with some practice you could nail that paint we did in this video fella too
Great jib mate..can you tell me did you charge fir this jib ?
Yeah mate of course I charged for this job mate
@@TonysRefinishingTV Sorry what did you charge for the job, Cheers from NZ
Ah I don’t discuss prices on here mate in afraid
Hi,
is it possible to show us how to go about doing collision repairs
Thank you
As in dents ect ?
Yes please
I will work on some for you
@@TonysRefinishingTV thank you so much I highly appreciate
No problem
In your opinion, if you have no access to fade out thinners, is a repair like this still doable, or more advisable to just clear the whole panel?
Just use 2k thinner mate instead
@@TonysRefinishingTV Oh ya? Do you mean base reducer, or like acrylic lacquer thinner? Or mixed maybe with the clear 50:50?
Yeah just base thinner mate dust it lightly over the blend mate and use the air from the hun to flash it off it’s all I ever used to do till I got some aerosol fade out
@@TonysRefinishingTV Cool thanks. But just to confirm, are you talking about base coat reducer or acrylic lacquer thinner?
Yes 2k basecoat thinner mate
Skillage
Lol thanks man
