'Really disturbing': Community demands justice for woman hit, killed by SPD officer

- Community members are rallying to demand justice for Jaahnavi Kandula, a 23-year-old graduate student who was struck and killed by a Seattle officer in January. This week, comments about her death made by another Seattle detective became public, which Kandula's family calls "truly disturbing."
Dozens of community members gathered Thursday evening near Dexter and Thomas where 23-year-old Jaahnavi Kandula calling for justice and accountability.
In January, a body camera captures the voice of Detective Daniel Auderer one day after Kandula was struck and killed by another officer's squad car as he was responding to an emergency, traveling 74 miles per hour - nearly three times the speed limit.

Unless you have evidence that the first cop ran her over based on her Ethnicity, what I said is an objective fact. I.E. her killing was Not based on race. I also claimed that he should be charged with manslaughter. That's not taking the side of a white cop or siding with the "whites."
I also pointed out that the second cop made it racist by saying what he said. Devaluing her based on her background and her not being an American.
For the record, I'm extremely pro-Indian and pro-South Asian. I don't put the value of my people dependent on any other demographic and what they think, something that many South Asian Americans have a tendency to do. But I will side with the facts.

Thank you, as the community is very humble and behaved and would never riot, but type of stuff that deserves protests. She was the only child of a single mom when her father passed, she worked really hard to educate her even with the currency exchange and was going to graduate with her masters in December. On top of the grief, imagine the slap on her family’s face hearing their words or actions, they had high hopes.

She will be awarded her degree posthumously, said Northeastern University where she was studying. The development has come after release of police footage in which a police officer can be heard laughing about her death and saying that her life had "little value". Jaahnavi was due to get her masters degree in Information Systems this December.
Imagine the best job youre able to obtain is being a police officer because you lack the brain capacity to finish college and do something better with your life and then calling someone studying for a masters degree worthless.

The officer was on a call! He was not driving on a suspended license because I'm sure that he would not be behind the wheel of a police car on a suspended license!
The only story I can find about his license being suspended is that it was Almost suspended in 2018 for not paying tickets and failure to appear. I don't know how a person with a driving record like that and likely warrants for FTA got a job as an officer just a year later. He was even hired with an incentive bonus. Shameful.

If they'll commit outright and public homicide a suspended license is definitely possible. Maybe even likely because who's going to stop them or hold them accountable. "We investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing on our part" comes to mind.

Kevin Dave that tan her over had his license suspended in 2018, numerous unpaid traffic violations and failed to appear in court, why was he a cop? And was even promoted to vice. He had no lights or sirens on at the time of the incident!

What we know is that she was crossing the street at a crosswalk, the cop did not have his lights on and was going 75 mph.

This cop is protected politically (which is why he still has a job); what is going to happen is that the Seattle PD will delay resolution of this for long as possible (hoping that the interest and outrage will dissipate). Eventually nothing is going to happen to this cop unfortunately. I find this disgusting but such is the power that police unions wield.
