How’s controversial? Any person with morals finds it disgusting to put a price tag on someone’s life. Especially a police officer who is supposed to serve the public
It DOES matter if it was taken out of context.
@@annettetesta8816 really
I'm sure it's not an accident it's definitely a past vengeance by the officer. I have so many questions.
1. How did the police officer knew her age ?(anyway it's nearly correct)
2. His laugh was vengeful.
3. She was a Master student, how did the officer knew her college fees which was £11,000?
4. Does he know her before or the government is just going to move this case as just a racist case?
5. This police officer was already faced case of cheating involvement of $1.5 million dollars.
Please re-open this case🙏
This is just another anti police movement that’s all it is
It is not about Asians this was a human being so all races should be supportive and involved
Yeah, like everyone supported the George Floyd police reform Act....no..wait..They didn't support the act...it failed in congress. Well I'm sorry but it's clear to me that only some of us are consider human.😂 fine by me I've lived this long with it I can take it😂😂
If you look at the footage or attended the rallies there are people of all races in attendance. But India has a large diaspora and takes crimes against Indians abroad seriously, just as the US takes crimes against US Americans abroad seriously.
@@galemartin9155
Look how long it took Emmett Till Anti lynching act to pass.
It's 2023 and he was killed decades ago.
Republicans like Tim Scott didn't want it to pass Till or Floyd bill.
The Floyd bill passed the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives on a mostly party-line vote of 220-212, but not the evenly divided but Democratic controlled Senate amid opposition from Republicans. Negotiations between Republican and Democratic senators on a reform bill collapsed in September 2021.
Other video showed Blacks, Indian and White people
Inside Edition showed a Black cop and others who saw the video demanded justice
Amen!
Raise your voice. We shouldn't remain quiet.. we are with you from Africa .
YES I agree RAISE YOUR VOICES AND BE HEARD.
But democrats always say during tragedies…, “That’s life in a big city” so… why is this different? 🤔
u mean doing a protest quietly ?
put that cop in jail for 2 years, and put the cop who hit the girl in prison for life.
Agree in principle, in practice the criminally negligent officer committed involuntary manslaughter, he should see prison time (75 in a 25 into a pedestrian at a lighted crosswalk is absurdly negligent) but not life.
The officer who mocked her death should have seen time for some of his previous crimes (he has a long record of use of force complaints which SHOULD have ended in conviction) but should only be fired for his disgusting speech. 1A does not allow incarceration for mocking people unjustly slain, but it absolutely is unacceptable from a public servant.
To much like right
The cop who was joking and laughing is the leader of the police union.
Police have a strong union.
The cop who killed her, they are trying to justify what he did.
A lot of people have been hurt, hit or killed by cops because of high speed chase.
Her family is going to have to sue in civil court to get any kind of justice.
They need to contact Ben Crump
Ben Crump has helped other people who are not black, like Hunter Brittian family
Police are expected to go fast when there is an emergency call. Ambulances too. If Seattle wants to prohibit that, you go ahead and pass that law and they rest of us will just laugh when you can't get the police to show up to a robbery in less than an hour. As for what the officer said, even without the missing context, hurting someone's feelings is not a crime.
@@brucejohnson1264I knew there would be an individual who would apologize for these actions!!!
@@brucejohnson1264 pls do not defend police if you don't have ANY of the facts of the situation. Of course cops are expected to speed to a location, but there are rules they must follow. They must travel at a reasonable speed, if it's medical, they are not essential personnel. And lights and sirens must be active.
This Cop did not full fill any of those requirements.
He was going 78 in a 25 zone, running a red light. The girl he killed was in the cross walk and had the walk signal. It was night and his lights and sirens were NOT on. It's criminal negligence of the highest degree.
He should not get life, but he needs to go away for unintentional homicide. There was no reason to drive that fast without sirens.
The officer that ran her over should be in prison for manslaughter.
But he's not even being charged
The laughter comes from a calloused heart,
Nope. That laughter comes from watching too much andrew tate videos.
I guess that’s just normal life in a big city 🤷♂️ Remember when dem politicians said that when criminals were killing innocent people?
If you want to make real change get rid of the Police Union. Police Unions have a nasty habit of protecting bad cops and grifting cities. Did you know that in some cities in America policing makes up 40% of the budget? Think about that for a moment.
Also get rid of the toxic progressive DA’s and judges who protect criminals and killers. If you cut off both pieces of the cancer you have no problems 🤷♂️
Partially because they have Mayors and Governors by the balls, since most of them need to have the appearance of being "tough on crime" to win their (re)elections.
The sad part is that these two people on the call mocking her death are the VP and President of the SPOG (Seattle’s largest police Union)
That's because the police industry uses fear to promote that we need more and more cops. Cops the majority of the time show up after the fact to write a report.
Anybody talking abt an accident victim like that is disgusting but a policeman who is tasked to protect the community talking like that is just unimaginable
It wasn't an accident. It was careless and negligent operation of a motor vehicle that killed someone.
Lock up the criminally neligent driver.
Fire the officer mocking the dead.
This lady spoke what was not spoken for decades. We need to come out and speak. We are to ourselves, so that doesn't mean we tolerate everything. But we are coming together because she is a human.
Nobody is an Island. There's nothing wrong with asking for help. There are plenty of people who will listen.
Nah. You didn't stand with black and Latinas. Now you want support.

Everyone in U.S. should support these demonstrations. These shameless officers will put a price tag on anyone next.
Sue the entire police department!
He spoke perfect English; how he was misunderstood?
The officer that killed Jaahnavi needs to be held accountable. Police officers must be in control of their vehicles, weapons, and their behavior at all times. If
Perfectly said: We're done being Invisible 😔🙏
Been listening to the stuff the police department putting out just sounds like they're backpedaling to me I'd like to know what happened to the cop that was driving the car that hit the girl nobody's talking about that
The officer that killed the young woman has not been charged. That speaks for itself.
Her viewpoint is spot on he was very inhumane in his response not taken out of context
" . . . . out-of-context . . . ." is what every cop says when they're caught on audio / video doing or saying something despicable. After cops choked Elijah McClain to death, they took a selfie of themselves in a choke-hold to mock his death. When cops assaulted and dislocated Karen Garner's shoulder / elbow, they laughed when they watched their bodycam video and heard the "pop" of the dislocation. Those cops also claimed their laughing and mocking were "out-of-context".
💯%🎤mic drop…D_Lee
Exactly. I'm familiar with both of those cases. Loveland, Colorado and Aurora, Colorado if I'm not mistaken. I think McClain was also shot up with Ketamine.
They were not out of context. We need policing. These bad ones make the devoted officers look bad. Too many, with the wrong personalities are drawn to police work. There needs to be better screening. In healthcare, even your basic classes are hard enough to screen a lot of people out. That continues on to professional school or graduate school. It is not perfect, but it is effective overall.
Im glad this is getting attention the beautiful woman deserves better
Fire him
Thanks to our Indian community. Pls always remain united
There's no choice
Oh now the so called Indian community wants to come out? Where have you been?
Employing these type of people to serve the public, only causes problems for the city and in this case, the reputation of the USA
as an AfricanAmerican... Yeah, this evil behavior by cops never supprises me or my family....
Imagine if this happens to a black girl. That city would have gone up in flames.
That's just your own backwards ass bias view, you're a nobody.
And rightfully so.
As a non-black, I say it would be completely justified.
It happens to blacks everyday, quit acting like we burn up stuff for no reason.
Because black community have unity unlike indian community
They must think the we are really stupid, trying to use context to defend what happened. In NO context what so ever is this acceptable!!! He was clearly laughing and making fun of her death!!! How stupid do they think we are??What really troubles me is that there is ZERO accountability even when they are caught red handed!!!!!!
I stand with this community all the way from Kentucky & Indiana! I've got your back! I hope change happens very soon! This is a human issue and police need to be punished when things like this happen. Sadly worse goes on behind closed doors! Very Scary!
That police officer's relationship with his wife is worth less than 11k dollars.
Paper thin apology.
I support these people. She is exactly right, they need to stand up for themselves. To say that about another human, imagine if that were your sister or daughter or mother.
This cop thinks he's untouchable, maybe we go give him a visit. He certainly lives close to here. Wouldn't be that hard to find him, just wait till he goes home from work and follow him, boom easy peasy.
It's not just cops but people who have no value for life.
Cut a check?
I'm saddened that my race of people treat others with such disregard and disrespect.
I would gladly see the world rid of people like this cop. Firing him would be the LEAST of his problems
Let me add this is alot more common place then you may think, he just happens to be caught on camera.
im glad this story is getting more attention.
Indian women very strong to stand up.
Theres Indian Men.
Why did he say she was 26 and had limited value? Cause women expire at 25 for some men or cause she wasn’t a kid?
I know she was actually 23 🥺 but I don’t think it had to do with her being brown. I think he was watching too much tate
That exact vocabulary is a symptom of watching too much tate. "She was 26 anyways she had limited value" only words you hear coming from incels😂
There is no use reflecting over the thoughts of a psychopath.

how is it he hasnt been charged with manslaughter ITS AS CLEAR AS GLASS
_Officer Kevin Dave, who was traveling 74 miles per hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone, did not have his sirens on when he hit Jaahnavi Kandula._
How negligent and reckless!
I’m so happy to see Indians stand up for themselves!! Great job !!
The "out-of-context" defense is a lie. Consider this, was he on her side when he said "he was going 50" when in fact he was going at 74mph? No, he was not on her side. Was he on her side when he said:"she was not on the crosswalk"? No, he was not on her side. Was he on her side, when he said:"there doesn't seem to be a criminal investigation" for her death? No, he was never on her side in that whole phone conversation. Then he was laughing and joking after saying "she is dead", he's suddenly on her side? The context is loud and clear, he was mocking her death.
Give garbage human beings badges and guns, adorn them with the plot armor of "qualified immunity," and this is the result.

They messed around with the wrong community.theres over 2 billion indians,we will demand justice for this and we are internationally settled across many countries all around the world.fight for justice for one and for alll❤❤

@@NathanBee3 so you’re saying its ok the usa cop killed her? Btw im canadian, and no way would we let that fly.theres enough indians living outside of india (millions of us) that can make that difference
There needs to be a wholesale revision of hiring practices in all police department starting with psychological tests. There was a RUclips video some months ago on a city that did this. A high percentage of applicants were deemed not suitable. This city which had problems with policing was able to improve the dept greatly by hiring those that did pass the tests.
This was very right thing to do, good job. That talking was so inhumane
We're not going to let this go. The lack of accountability is unreal. How about sensitivity traing for all cops?
The mistreatment of citizens, particularly people of color, has gone on since the founding of the U.S., and of course is common place around the world.
We have to recognize that it truly IS 'the System', that these people are being PAID BY US TAXPAYERS, and that NO ONE IS SAFE.
The unlucky girl's family is to be legally compensated as early as possible. Just thinking about her mom and dad🥲
We need a federal civil rights investigation into Jaahnavi's killing.
It's about everyone's life and death issues. It's not only for Indians but also for American or Australian any country's citizens are in very dangerous situations in America where security and protection doesn't matter, human lives don't matter while money , drugs , crime, sex are the most mattered objects.
She was 26. She had a whole life ahead of her. Limitless potential for the US and India. She was priceless.
26 is old.
She's actually 23
She was 23
@@mattyboy456no its not. Im older than that. Fyi she was 23. Also you calling that old. When youre 26 lets see how you feel when people call you old. Im from india and i can never even think of going to America as its impossible as our salaries are so less like $300 a month isnt even minimum wage
Justice for this precious soul Jaanvhi 🙏
First of all my deepest condolences to the family.
Law enforcement officer needs to go on trial for driving without due care and attention reckless driving and causing death. mocking the young girl after running her over and laughing about it and having no guilt feeling what he has just done. He needs to be held fully responsible for his action.
And no amount of money can replace the loss of a loved one. Loved ones are priceless more than what this officer will earn in a lifetime.
I believe nothing going to change
The mayor is in cahoots with the PD and will allow this to drag on until the public forgets it.
What happened is very tragic, and what was said and done is beyond comprehension. Did not expect this in US and Definitely not from Uniformed Police officers, who have to set Higher standards and live as an example, there could be one bad apple but others too ?
What is the view of other Officers? and their Union ?
President Lincoln : “Stand with anybody that stands RIGHT. Stand with him while he is right and PART with him when he goes wrong”
When it was just black people and BLM a lot of people remained quiet because it wasn't happening to them. That's the allusion. It can happen to anyone.
If someone in the department didn't have a conscious we would never know about this. How many innocent lives have been quietly fed to the law monster.

I lived near Seattle for almost two years. I'm so horrified and heartbroken about this absolute inhumane catastrophe.
Here's the deal, from my perspective: LAW ENFORCEMENT IS NOT USEFUL IN ITS CURRENT FORM.
INDIVIDUAL COMMUNITIES MUST COME TOGETHER TO TALK ABOUT CITIZENS BEING TREATED LIKE ONLINE GAMING TARGETS!!!
This is not the first egregious elimination of a whole human being, nor will it be the last!!!
Take action for ALL OF THE COMMUNITY or your outrage will be absorbed and muted.
SO SO SORRY!!!
Too sad, too bad
I guess Qualified Immunity has him covered for streaking into that 25mph intersection at 74mph with no siren on.
My prayers are with the loved ones of the young woman and this officer needs to be fired. Now the gaslighting the police do to victims is being exposed globally.
The officer will get a clean chit for sure like for sure
If you think that was the frist time because they got caught, your wrong
We are all human beings, and unfortunate accidents happen, had there been remorse and empathy from these officers, this could have quickly been healed and moved on, but theseb individuals are lowly human beings. Just so we know don't generalize the police force. It was an officer that found the footage during a review and chose to escalate it. It was then the police force released it to the public in the interest of transparency
Under free speech , the officer cannot be tried under any law . But he has explicitly given a statement what does the law think about 'regular ' people's carcasses in Seattle.
I always maintain, your birth makes God , clergy and the political class richer and powerful.
And HOW the cop who hit and killed the woman is not answering for his crime?

that police department needs to be cleaned up
File a criminal complaint
Its not that you are invisible. This world is now run by violence or money and if you are capable of atleast 1 then it is your way to justice.

So sick of anti-Asian hate crimes in Seattle not being recognized. Why is it like this considering Asian Americans are the largest minority in the city and state?
Indians don't usually march for racism as only African Americans are usually oppressed. But now!!!!!
Is the Seattle police department still under federal supervision for excessive use of force? Are the Feds able to punish SPD somehow?
Oh you can bet the feds will. This is international news. The embassy is involved.
If it's one sided then why don't they put out the whole phone conversation for the public to decide? Unless it's because that Jelly belly doesn't want the public to hear it.
It is all the fault of his boss who is still a police officer and has so many records. This police officer deserves jail. Justice for Kandula
I am soooooo glad the Indians are doing something about it.
We East Asians have been shot, stabbed, killed, discriminated against in this country for the past 100 years. BUT NOBODY IN THE EAST ASIAN COMMUNITY EVER COMES TO GATHER AND DEMONSTRATE/PROTEST . Voice their opinion against any unjust killings in our community. Everything just gets swept under the rugged and not talk about it. Seeing something like this inspires me, GOOD JOB INDIANS.
