- Protesters took to the streets Friday night to call for charges against the officer who killed Jaahnavi Kandula after striking her with his vehicle. They also called for the Seattle Police Department to fire Daniel Auderer and the person he was on the phone with following the release of the troubling body camera video earlier in the week.

The officer laughing about the death of a person he killed, is one of the most sickest things I’ve ever heard. We as a society must try to recruit better people to become police, instead of these psychopaths and the nut jobs we have now called police.

That's one of the reasons I'm no longer in the criminal justice system (parole officer and case worker). Most of the people I worked with were as bad as the felons, they just haven't been caught yet. The sad part is, now they have authority too.
That is no surprise. It take a long time to figure that out because you are taught when your are young to Respect authority, only to find out that "they" (many of them) sex trading, drugs, kickbacks, etc. Law & Order....No such thing. Respect, Long gone.

Turns out, he was likely mad at the fact that he locked a girl in there and I noticed, so I asked if the bathroom was open.
Yes, they lock you in the bathrooms and don’t open it back up, until you’re basically screaming.
Being a decent human being in jail is impossible. It’s due to the staff, not the inmates. Another officer was provoking a mentally ill woman for getting upset over not getting her medication.
I talked with her and explained he’s trying to get her to react so he can do something.
She listened and made it out that time. They love to mess with mentally unwell women in jails in Arizona.
Funnily enough, I heard a cop complaining about getting calls to pick up homeless people, he explained it was useless since they just walk their way back there.
I don’t think that dude will last for long, he was young. Most of the rude staff was older.
Best guy there was the guy that was into the trans Siberian orchestra (he stopped all staff members nearby to watch the show, it was very funny and sweet)

One of the MOST frustrating things for me is when police want to fly by you and your families while they have NO lights or sirens on, putting you and your families at risk of getting into a serious accident and someone or everyone being killed. If they have somewhere to be THAT bad turn the lights and sirens on? How is that even a question among law enforcement?

It's called a code 2 response, no lights or sirens and as expeditiously as possible. One of the caveats is minding public safety during said code. It is necessary sometimes.

How is saying "Her life had limited value" get taken out of context? That is on its face the value of the context it was used in, to mock and ridicule another human being. This is what you get when you have lower standards of hiring guidelines than that of security guards.

You're not as smart as you think you are if you think it was done out of neglect, or if youre just assuming what happened. if you watched the body camera, you would easily see that the officer was responding to a priority one call, had his lights on, preformed CPR immediately after and was audiably shaken. It was a freak accident, that's why nothing was done.

I'm horrified to hear police officers talking that way, and it seems like officers are never held accountable for what they say, or do...Unless they're black, of course. Black officers are not held to any account moreso than anyone else. I believe less on average because they're black and their command staff doesn't want to get accused of racism. My Grandfather was a Sergeant with the Chicago Police Department for 34 years. The real problem is that people have lost their morals and respect in this nation compared to the old timers.

The police officer has been tried multiple times since 2014. The cost of the trails has cost Seattle over 1 million dollars.

Any PD that still has serve and protect on their cruisers is false advertising the Supreme Court ruled in 2005 that LEO only duty is to enforce the law. They don't even have to know them. Seattle was so awesome in the seventies. They rolled the sidewalks up around 9pm and the city had big, beautiful trees everywhere. Seattle now is gone without a flood or an earthquake.

Qualified Immunity needs to be abolished, is the only way to hold Cops Accountable for their misconduct.

i’m not anti-cop. But we had a tenant who was 27 years old and moved to California from Georgia to become a police officer. And in a very short amount of time his psychology revealed someone who should not have been in a position of power with a firearm. In a few stories that he didn’t share with me painted the police department patriarchal fraternity filled with sociopaths.
So saying someone's life has no value, has other meaning? So their life has more value? This is disappointing that my tax dollar is going to pay for these cold hearted evil cops. 😡😡

It could have been considered taken out of contacts B before the officer mentioned the deceased age and the fact that he did not consider her to be worth more than $11000. I think he said limited value once he said that. It cannot be considered taken out of context.

The officer who ran her over did not even get a slap on the wrist punishment. Imagine if you hit someone (even if you’re rushing to hospital to save someone’s life) - you’d still be charged of manslaughter. Idk if the police officer here is really making fun of the victim or if he is mocking how lawyers frame these cases but this person also have had many disciplinary issues which have been forgiven. One can easily see that this is not the exception but the norm for not only Seattle Police Department but most police departments in the country.
He needs to be fired immediately. There is no context that this would make sense!!
