Ron Bertka I dig this comment. I’m 23, grew up with Heart because of my mom pretty much since the womb. Just got to seem them play live last month for the first time, my mom’s only seem them 3 times. These women are true inspirations; I love for watching these oldies videos because this is where they began, this was their prime. They’re still undoubtedly incredible nonetheless, but I do wish I’d lived during this time instead of the music that pollutes my generation.

    • @ronbertka

@@moogledoodles I love that you have been able to see them live. Even though no longer in their prime you were still able to appreciate the talent they have shared with so many people over all these years. Might I suggest you check out some other bands. But see them live and then find videos of early on...if you are not sure who, ask your mom who else she liked. Plus you get the benefit of bonding as an adult with her, which is so different than when you were younger

Nancy Wilson was an average guitarist at best in the rock world. She was touted as being great because she was female. I appreciate all the work she has done and it has been spectacular. However, there are a plethora of "female guitarists," that possess far more skill, technique, and feel. It seems reasonable to stay away from comparing people one to another because, what one thinks is great, another thinks different.

    • @marvinnorstrom2636

As a fellow Seattle kid who grew up on Heart and spent a lot of time singing classic rock, Ann is a straight up inspiration and rock god to me. Love your point about Ann feeling the song, internally, allowing her to shape and focus the delivery of her immense natural talent. It seems at times that she knows she's sharing an otherworldly gift with us (in a loving, 70's, let's everybody get it on kind of way). It's a timeless example of the transporting power of rock music. Thanks again!

I LOVE watching Ann Wilson sing that song, as well as Barracuda. It is SO FUN watching Ann and Nancy! I believe Ann Wilson is an INFP (the Introverted Feeling Dom from the Myers Briggs type indicator) which explains why she is SO EVOCATIVE with her emotions. INFPs are the quintessential deep feeling, intuitive, soulful artists. Other INFP singers are Kurt Cobain, Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell, Niel Young, Jeff Buckley (Hallelujah), Fiona Apple, Elizabeth Frazier (of Cocteau Twins), Sarah McLahlan, Carlos Santana, Bjork, Sting, Sinead O'Connor, etc...all being some of my favorite singers. I LOVE the soulfulness of INFPs. Ann portrays this so well. These amazing ladies ROCK! It ranks right up there with watching Stevie Nicks sing the crescendo in Rhiannon in 1975. That performance ROCKED! Reminds me Janis Joplin. You can see Stevie's incredible performance here at 4:45 ruclips.net/video/jQAK6sVovUk/видео.html I would love to hear your reaction to Stevie singing here. Thank you for your video. Subscribed!

I agree with your reaction and assessment, Ann Wilson can certainly belt it out with the best of them. But what's really impressive to me is how she uses dynamics, the ability to sing soft and low when the song calls for it, to hammering home the big notes in crescendo style. And both parts clear as a bell, no cracking and no shrill screaming. Her voice is unmistakable as evidence by her Christmas albums. Absolutely beautifully performed. I'm 63 and a Heart fan from their first album, thanks for this upload and your professional take on their talent.

One of the top ten rock songs of all time. I love the Wilson sisters and this lineup of the band. Your voice is beautiful as well. Thank you for sharing this informative video.

And to add when Ann gets in the zone she take her voice riff with the guitarists. I love the original HEART band...pure rawness.

I got to see Heart in concert Dream Boat Annie album but what caught me when she started singing was the power of her voice, like she didn't need a mic.My favorite song from Heart is Barracuda.

Nancy also has a great voice. It's just not as big and rich as Ann's.

Very nice. I also love this song and the way they sing. And they are still very good. Did you see their performance at the Kennedy Center Honors, a few years ago? They did a great Stairway to heaven! Nice to hear a professional view on their singing.
