    Just bought the Eliminator SE with that orange pop last week and I’m LOVING it. Literally bought it before I had even ridden a motorcycle EVER. Took the safety class last weekend and am licensed and taking it slow ever sense. So easy to ride and such a beautiful bike. Glad you love yours as well.

    Ohio rider, here. Bundling up to ride in winter is just part of the experience. I’ve even commuted to work a few times in snow out of necessity. Autumn is the my favorite riding weather.

    Thanks everyone for posting their feedback on this bike. I sat on one last year, liked the fit. Haven't tried a test ride. My stepfather lends me his spare Harley when I visit the relatives (Dyna superglide) and that opened my eyes to cruiser life. Thinking of it as a fuel-efficient lighter-weight cruiser that might suffice for a cross-country luggage-hauling travel machine for one. Started riding on a gen1 Versys 650 and still riding it all the time.
    Hoping that the aftermarket parts makers come forward with bigger tanks, batwing fairings, forward controls, luggage racks, etc.

    Glad you're ok and riding again. Riding in Idaho in the winter really blows. In this state it's either freezin' or fryin'. If it's not snowing, it's raining and winds are high. There's maybe 2 months a year of good riding. And, in the summer, it's so hot, buggy and crowded it's hard to enjoy riding., I've been here 35 years and ready to move back to Calif. just for the good weather. Southern states might be great too. Have fun and take care.

    Mirror extensions worked perfect for me! I rode the Vulcan S and the Eliminator. Chose the Eliminator as on the test ride I knew it was the bike for me!

    First, thank you for this video. You made the right choice. The Honda Shadow has been around for a long time and it looks like an old bike. The Honda Rebel I think is the ugliest motorcycle Honda has ever produced.I do like the Vulcen S, but the Eliminator is better looking and the power to weight ratio is about the same.
    As far as your mirroes, I've never had any trouble with motorcycle mirrors but the ones on the Eliminator do look postioned wrong, to narrow on the bike. I've read if you angle the mirroe toward the front of the bike and then readjust the mirror head so you can see better behind you.
    I would buy either a small windshield or a flysreen, but nothing too big. I wouldn't want to ruin the looks of such a good looking motorcycle.
    If you want your exhaust just a little bit louder, don't buy an aftermarket exhaust system because they are all too loud. There are a couple of things you can do to make your exhaust just a little bit louder. First you can buy a long drill bit, I have some that are about 12 inches long. One is 5/16" and the other is 3/8". I've done this many times on many motorcycles. Just drill about four holes around the center opening on the rear of your muffler. The other thing you can do sounds crazy but it is an old hot rod truck. Every time you wash your bike spray some water into the rear of your nuffler and let it sit while your wash your bike. When you are done fire it up to blow the water out. After a few times of doing this you will hear a difference.
    Once again, thanks for the video. Ride safe and enjoy every journey.

    I got the SE, Love this bike as a beginner for my first ride. 5'6 and have no complaints on the ergo myself, wild to think almost a foot taller and you're comfy too! They did great. I'm in the same boat w/ the exhaust, can leave for work at 4:30AM and dont want the neighbors to rage lol, but the options are finally coming in, just gotta wait for the right one. I had the Kemimoto bar end mirrors, larger round, and origionally had set them up to hang. I loved everything about them minus they would stop you're turning as they hit the tank and cut off about 15-20% of your handlebar max turn. It's also a bit less than optimal to have to look down/lift arms to see behind you. I ended up just flipping them up and it's working great. I also can't decide on a windscreen, hitting 80+ and beating my chest w/ the wind is fun for so long lol. Hard to decide on a screen though because I have yet to see one that doesn't kill the look it's going for stock. I agree one for a road trip would probably be manditory though. Love the vid, keep the rubber side down!

    The Eliminator might be my next motorcycle. If people can ride bicycles and 49 cc motor scooters around the world, then riding a 451 cc motorcycle that can go 90+ mph can too. It's NOT TOO SMALL! I ride a 125 cc scooter everywhere except Interstate highways. It has a top speed of around 55 mph. I love it but want my one hour plus commute to be thirty-five minutes instead. Being able to ride on the freeways will save me an hour a day.
    I owned a 2001 Kawasaki LTD 500 Vulcan. It was 50 pounds heavier than the Eliminator with two less horsepower. It was as quick and fast as 800 cc cruisers because it weighed 200 pounds less. Lighter is better.
    The Eliminator has more horsepower than the Honda 750 Shadows so it will be quicker. Top speed on MANY 800 cc and larger cruisers is around 95-110. One isn't giving up much by riding a 450. The money savings is really substantial. The $10,000+ 1312 cc Honda Fury is limited at 100 mph. The big bikes just ride smoother because they weigh so much.
    I just learned that the Eliminator's speedometer is off by five to six mph. My inexpensive scooter's analog speedometer is off by that much too. One would expect a $7000 motorcycle's totally digital speedometer to be calibrated correctly.

    I love mine. Six foot 290. This thing has a bunch of pep with the motor they put in it. They hit the gearing and power band just right. 11000rpm red line and it has no problem holding a high speed, the torque is there.

      I have been looking at Kiwav Medusa mirrors. Some body on here put those on, they have three different lengths and good ratings. Just a a thought.

  • @snatr
    @snatr 6 месяцев назад +2

    Thanks for sharing. As far as the mirrors go, looks like you could swap them left and right and run them upside down. Not sure about the tank clearance at that point though.

    Having to wait 3 months during the northern winter does completely suck. I try to cope by telling myself that the long break makes the peak season that much more enjoyable. And it is nice that we don’t have 100 degree days…but I was considering moving to North Carolina so I could ride more.

    • @Matthewsmith-2024

      Those hot summer days are a drag. It's not too bad as long as you don't get caught in traffic. The move to NC might be worth it. Riding is a lot more fun and economical than driving. It's easy to forget over winter. I also forgot how much I enjoyed spending around $6 to fill my tank 😅

    Thanks so much for these reviews! Have you noticed if the indicator for mileage range estimate is accurate? Also, it would be much appreciated, if you do find better mirrors, if you could please post from where? Thank you very. Ride safe!

      The range seems close but not spot on. I did find new mirrors on Amazon they're universal bar end mirrors. They were about $36 and well worth imo. I think I made a community post with a picture a few weeks ago.

    How is the engine vibration compared to Rebel?

    • @Matthewsmith-2024
      @Matthewsmith-2024  2 месяца назад +1

      @rajeevwx I'm not sure I never rode the rebel. I imagine it's rather similar since they're both similar sized parallel twins. You can feel it on the tank and frame pretty well, but the pegs and handlebars do a good job suppressing vibrations. The seat does ok, but I did start to notice the vibrations after about an hour.

    How’s it like for extended time on the highway?

    • @Matthewsmith-2024
      @Matthewsmith-2024  3 месяца назад

      It's good. The vibrations get to you after a while. The seat is fairly comfortable. The most I've done is 6 hours and after that I was spent. I'd say about 3 hrs before it starts getting rather uncomfortable.

    Whats the 0 to 60 and top speed like trying to decide between this or vulcan 650s

    • @Matthewsmith-2024
      @Matthewsmith-2024  6 месяцев назад

      I'm not sure. Feels really quick. The ninja 400 is 4.8 seconds, and this is basically a better version of that. I've also never gotten to top speed. The fastest I've gone is 96mph. What I've seen online suggests it's something like 119mph

      Definitely. The seating is fairly low. I'd still recommend going to a dealer and throwing a leg over to see for yourself.

    Check out bar-end mirrors. Better viz. also, I’m a Vulcan fan (hrumph! They’re beautiful!) 😜 the 900 custom is my dream bike. But the eliminator is what I want first. And yes, I’ll keep it for my daughters. I’m 5’7” and while the Rebel is okay for me, I do like the seat height of the eliminator better. I’m surprised it is that comfortable for you. Curious if an all day ride would wear on you. Great video by the way. I’ll tell my dealer to give you part of the commission! 😜 cheers!
