As a catholic, Ave Maria holds a very special place in my heart (I got great joy in hearing you say a Hail Mary), and the prayer gives me a peace that no other prayer can. Thank you fire your very honest reaction to this! Enjoyed every minute of it.
I agree 100%. Love JVs choice of music and his pure genuine reactions touch my heart. I find myself teary eyed in most of these videos. Especially this one. Touches my heart so deeply. Thanks JV for your heartfelt gift to us.
An opera singers voice is their "instrument". Just like playing a trumpet or a flute, the singer must spend hours and hours, years and years in perfecting their tone, pitch and musicality. Some people have a natural 'gift', but that doesn't mean they can let down on perfecting their craft. No electronic enhancements in singing opera. It's purity of the voice that touches your soul.
Even more. I was trained in this art for nearly 8 years now and at first its like you would have to take the parts of this instrument and put them together, that's what you do the first maybe two years, and after that you have to learn to play it. It's quite complicated, because you don't have an instrument standing before you and when you press this button, there is this tone. You have to imagine most of the things you learn and out of this imagination comes the technique. Luciano Pavarotti mastered a technique (translated it means 'the masc', im from Germany so I don't know the English name) and especially this one makes his singing sound lite and like it touches your soul. Unfortunately this technique is often neglected in singing schools (at least in Germany Idk about the other ones)
@@antoniavonrothkirch4453 Thank you Antonia for your insight. I never sang opera, but I did play flute and have been with people who play other instruments. I hope I wasn't being too forward in my "analysis", I've always been fascinated with how opera singers produce something so beautiful with just their vocal cords (and all the rest)... It's an amazing genre.
Thanks to you I spent several hours last night listening to opera. I think I'm addicted now - especially listening to Pavarotti. I think you might be addicted too. TY 😊
You are such a gentleman and a scholar, my friend. This tune changed my life while working in fine Italian dining. You have a tremendous palate for music, and I really thank you for that.
My cousin was a Sheriff in the Monroe Co. Sheriff's dept. and he was a diver for drowning victims and on one search, he had an equipment failure and he ended up drowning. This cathedral where is funeral was was packed with Law Enforcement officers from around the country. This song was played/sang and it was the most amazing moment I've ever experienced....both visually and audibly. Thanks for your reaction, Jay. I enjoyed it. Take care and be well. Peace.
Non opera singer named Barbra Streisand sings this. I get goosebumps with her singing anyway. But when she sings this song- oh maannnnnn!!-. You would love her voice
God bless you for discovering what beautiful music there is in the world. This song, Ave Maria, was one of my Mom's favorites and my daughter, who just got her Masters in Music/Voice, sings opera and she sang this as my son walked me in to my husband as when were married last August. Talk about a special moment... Please listen to Maria Callas singing it. You will need a tissue. There is so much opera out there to enjoy, Jayvee!! Dig in and hold on!! You are in for so many treats, so many goosebumps, SO many moments like you have shown us in this and your other video reaction of Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma. Thank you and again, God bless you! :)
Awwww, your reaction to Pavarotti is fantastic. He absolutely grabs my soul too. You must listen to the three tenors and also Andrea Botacelli who is just amazing.
It's so beautiful to see someone having the first contact with the best of European culture, welcome! There is so much beauty in the world and we should be a lot more focus on good things and not in bad things. It was a joy to see your honest reaction. Cheers from Europe!

JayVee, That's the first prayer you learn as a young Catholic boy or girl. Say the Hail Mary. With the music of Schubert and the voice of Pavarotti it's truly a Marriage made in heaven. So glad you liked this.
One of the most transcendentally beautiful pieces of music ever written, performed by the greatest tenor of his time. How could it be any more perfect?
Check out Pavarotti and friends. He sings with everybody from Freddy Mercury to Celine Deion to Bruce Springsteen to Placido Domingo, Aretha Franklin and many many other popular singers from the 60's to his death in early 21 cent.
He does have the most spectacular voice. Really goose bumps. I have heard other opera singers say Pavarotti had a Perfect Technique. He was inherently beautifully talented, and hard work pays too

Thanks for your honest appreciation of Luciano, who's been the last of all the great tenors of the last century. I've heard him live in 1983 in Munich for the last time, unfortunately. He was an outstanding opera singer and artist. Again, thanks for reacting to him and your appreciation!
So beautiful! My dear Mom loved opera (she was a musician) and classical music. Listening to the Three Tenors (Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, and Jose Carreras) brought tears to her eyes. Thanks so much for doing this, Javon!
You are so precious! “ I’ll maestro “ Luciano Pavarotti has been my favorite for so many years. There has never been anyone like him. @JayveeTv it is a joy watching your reaction to all the music genres. I think music is in you very being because I have watched several of your videos and you truly love the music.
Such an amazing thing to take in someone enjoying opera and that style of singing for the first time, thank you for sharing your reactions to the great Luciano Pavarotti. You've got a lot of great recommendations from others on what you might listen to next! His "E lucevan le stelle" from the opera Tosca is also one of his hallmarks. Try that whole opera, by Puccini (who also wrote the Nessun Dorma, which derives from his opera Turandot) ! Though often in other languages (typically Italian, French, German, Russian and English), opera sung in the USA is typically presented with sub (or super) titles, so you can know what is being said, in English. It can also be a useful idea to read a synopsis before seeing it. When you attend a live performance, the program book will have a synopsis in that book; but watching online (or a dvd), you can simply google the opera name and the word synopsis .. and you'll get a myriad of links offering that synopsis to choose from. Enjoy the new adventure!!
I'll never forget the first time I heard this song. It was the the middle 1960s, I was a child and it was the first time I was allowed to go to midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. I felt so grown up! This was when the Mass was still said in Latin, so I understood little. We had a wonderful choir, but I had never heard a solo. The soloist was a family friend that I didn't know could sing. He gave the most beautiful rendition of Ave Maria, which I could understand. Every time I saw him I asked for him to sing this for me. Thank you and God bless you!
Jay, I just got to your channel and saw you listening to Nessum Dorma for the first time, and now Ave Maria. You are absolutely right, Pavarotti can take you to a different state of mind. I was shocked you never heard it before, and was afraid you wouldn't "get it" But then it started and tears started streaming down my face when I saw how much Nessum Dorma impacted you -and that now, it's yours to keep forever in your heart. It's literally a transcendental experience.
I have SO much respect for you not only just giving this genre a try but for how you truly allowed it to touch your soul. So many people are just like "ew opera/classical/choral" and don't give it a chance. You should listen to a boys choir called Libera. Try the song Sanctus. I'd love to see your reaction to that.
Ava Maria! Just wonderful! Mr J - I was fortunate to see Mr Pavarotti in concert - and his voice was just as amazing - check our Ms Esperanza Spalding - she is a young bassist and jazz singer! "The Sunny Side of the Street" I believe it is a live performance @! the White House and I promise, you will not be disappointed! ENJOY!
My late Mum adored this hymn, she was brought up by her Victorian grandfather and they were Catholic (her children were not though). She loved listening to The three tenors and wouldn't miss them on the tv, no matter what the time lol. Your reactions would have thrilled her as they do me, she said this is wonderful sung as a solo and also by a good choir. This always reminds me of my Mum and thank you for having and sharing your open mind with us Jayvee. Take care and stay safe in this crazy world please, Peace, love and hugs to you all Mary-Ellen UK
I am so happy that the algorithm brought you into my world. Watching you discover and appreciate this new genre (for you!) is such a gift. I hope that you continue to find more joy and inspiration in the world this unfolds for you. (and keep sharing!)
You are correct that there was something very special about him and just sitting down to listen to opera all day won't be the same as listening to him. There is always that one in a million person for each talent and he's definitely that one in a million to his profession. Rip Luciano.
Good for you, discovering this kind of Music, opera is so damn beautiful and tranquil. Classical music is an extra dimension in your life. Love you Jayvee.

Glad you have discovered the master, a generational talent. The great Pavarotti is gone now, but his voice will live on.
ENJOY!
I hope you go to the opera sometime. It is the whole experience that needs to be experienced live. But he was definitely one of the best.
I’m glad you’re doing your thing, man. Nessun Dorma was so excellent. My favorite Pavarotti song
:D I'm so happy you're discovering opera! There is a reason why it's been popular for hundreds of years!
This song is played at alot of funerals in Ireland, I get shivers listening to it, beautiful ❤
Don't know which gave me more goosebumps - listening to Pavarotti, or watching you discover him. Well done brother - thanks for sharing!
Pavarotti is one of the GOATS! 🐐 Voice that just goes through your soul ❣️
It was a real *gift* watching you experience a master singing that song! I was so touched by you! Thank you!
O’ sole mio sung by the three tenors! BELIEVE ME, it will blow you AWAY. Gives me chills every time.
I am so happy that the algorithm brought you into my world. Watching you discover and appreciate this new genre (for you!) is such a gift. I hope that you continue to find more joy and inspiration in the world this unfolds for you. (and keep sharing!)
You are a beautiful soul. Love they way you listen, learn and enjoy the opera x
You are correct that there was something very special about him and just sitting down to listen to opera all day won't be the same as listening to him. There is always that one in a million person for each talent and he's definitely that one in a million to his profession. Rip Luciano.
This song and that voice transport you straight to heaven.
I would like this played at my funeral.
Good for you, discovering this kind of Music, opera is so damn beautiful and tranquil. Classical music is an extra dimension in your life. Love you Jayvee.
