I always cry like a baby when I hear this song. My mother was a soprano and she used to sing this to us all the time. We played this at her funeral. Till this day I can’t even play this on the piano without crying.
He was born with glaucoma and his sight was gradually deteriorating during early childhood but he lost what was left of it completely after a head injury playing football (soccer).
Seeing your face while listening to this was everything. Being a trained classical singer since age 6, I have always loved to see the impact that great music has on people. So happy that you are letting yourself be open to learning about this style of music. I can tell, you are a fan already!
Classical is maybe my least favourite genre (though I love the "classic" musicals like Phantom that had Sarah Brightman) but, girl... Oof. Something about it makes your soul soar. I couldn't pick apart any technical issues but the feeling it evokes is something else.
Sarah Brightman, in a former life was a dancer in a group called Hot Gossip and they had a hit in the UK with a song called “I lost my heart to a starship trooper”.......completely different in every way. Andrea Bocelli......he’s a gift from God. His song “Canto Della Terra” is just something else, gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it.
LOL OMG I thought I was the only person who had even heard of "I lost my heart to a starship trooper"!! I believe she was 18 with that hit!! I still play it quite often, it's on my gym workout list lol. Super catchy tune and you can totally hear Sarah. Love that song!
exactly. Opera is not appreciated, or even played, much here on popular radio or shows. And yet this performance is a perfect example of why it should be more appreciated, give it a listen. I am just a normal music listener, but I respect Opera and the talent, training, discipline it takes. Bravo !
Is there a recording of those two singing that? It isn't Crawford's character in Phantom (Erik) who sings that duet, it's Steve Barton's (Raoul), and the famous single is Sarah and Cliff Richard...Whoever it is, yes, it's a lovely song...and it is so cool to see a kid (well, compared to me he is) like Jovaughn getting into this neoclassical singing...
Also, there is a video of Sarah singing Phantom with Antonio Banderas... Yes, the actor... Awesome. It was a benefit charity concert for Andrew Lloyd Webber's birthday. I have the whole thing.
Your “ears have been blessed.” Beautiful turn of phrase! Since you really like Freddie Mercury, and you want to expose yourself to more opera, I think you would really enjoy “Barcelona,“ which Freddie wrote with opera singer Montserrat Cabelle’. There’s much to say about this song, but here’s the short version: This song is about their first meeting, which occurred in Barcelona. Freddie really wanted to meet her because he had a musical crush on her. He was also sick at this time, so I think it was basically one of his goals before he died. Anyway, they immediately felt a BIG connection to each other! They were basically musical soulmates. I’m not too keen on opera, but I really like this song! They loved and deeply respected each other, and after his death, she was bereft.
Classical or opera music isn't normally my cup of tea but I could listen to Andrea Bocelli sing all day long, just something about his voice has such a soothing affect and it's so gorgeous its ridiculous. He and Sarah sound great together also and I just love how she kind of takes care of him when they're onstage together, it's just beautiful the chemistry they have together and you can tell by the way she looks at him when he starts to sing his solo part that she is just as enamored with his voice as everyone else is and he with hers as well.
The grin on your face when they started singing together simply made my day today and brought me such joy. THAT was the emotion in your grin-PURE JOY. Thank you so much for sharing.
I had the privilege of seeing them in person at Madison Square Garden (NYC) and had goosebumps during the entire concert. I paid $200+ and I would pay it again and again to hear their beautiful voices live. So glad that you appreciate them as we do!
My first concert was an Andrea Bocelli concert a few years ago. My sister got to be a part of his choir. Even today he sounds just as good, if not better. He had a mic but I don't think he needed it, his voice fills up entire stadiums and arenas, videos don't do it justice how unreal his voice is.
Jayvon,I love watching your ears getting blessed! You are my fave music reactor! Because you are not listening to judge or tear down the artists and musicians. You are listening, to learn music history, recordings you can enjoy and put on your play list...and share with us, just how wonderful each recording is, in its own right! Music is subjective in general...but you can not listen to Motown, Boccelli & Brightman, 60’s and 70’s pop songs, and so much more... and not be breathless, have a smile crack your face and make you want to dance! I wish we lived near each other, I’d love to be a (fly on your wall), but cuddled in a chair in the corner off camera...lol...while you hear the music that formed this little girls future... every situation has a song attached to it... like life’s sound tracks. I’m going to look up some songs and artists for you to listen to... that move me every time they play. Hugs from Kentucky💕Tere
Your reaction to this video was the most genuine response I have ever seen. I can see you really enjoyed the performance of one of best duets in music history.
Voice like a Angel incredible and Andrea Bocelli it cant get better than this ! Yes i am so pleased that you like music like this and watching your response is always great . I do not watch any other people her on You Tube that do the same thing , you are my favorite and i really like you !
Jayvee, Sarah was the first Christine in The Phantom of the Opera. Andrea is blind and has been since about 11. Both awesome opera singers. Thanks for reacting to this just beautiful.
I was a coloratura soprano before I damaged my vocal chords through mourning. I cherish these videos of Opera and love to watch you discover them with such emotion! God Bless!
Beautiful. You don't even have to be a lover of opera to appreciate the stunning beauty of this. It brings tears to my eyes every time. "My ears have been blessed" indeed. Just mind-blowing. ❤❤❤
I am an 81 year old white guy. I say this because I want you to know where I am and where I am coming from. All music is related. JZ and Alecia singing New York is just as meaningful and inspirational as Bocelli, Brightman or Pavarotti singing the classics or Opera. Yet for some unknown reason people have let different types of music divide us when it is an art form that should bring us together. I love "Pavarotti" but I also love "Smokey" and "Marvin". And, there is little difference between them. The love that their talent brings to all of us must be celebrated and shared. This is the way I see it and the way I have conducted my file. So believe this: I am a happy guy!
It brings tears to my eyes! That is some of the best you’ll ever hear! Played this for my driver in China who was just as moved by the intensity and emotion this song creates deep inside, and he didn’t even know the language!
Jayvee, I, too have had an out of body experience. My soul is deeply touched and feel beauty and love for what I have experienced. Thank you God for these phenomenal artists. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Watching your face light up when Sarah Brightman hit her first high notes seriously made my day. You have such expressive eyes, and they really showcased the joy you felt in experiencing the song. Love your reactions and look forward to seeing cheering you on as you keep going! New sub!
Thank you for not pausing every 5 seconds. This type of music and performance with a live orchestra. Only the few are blessed to be seated in the audience. I’m still dreaming, one day, I’ll be there sitting front row with my cellphone shut off.

You aren't really checking this out. It's way above most peoples heads. You are just getting to enjoy beautiful art. You are quite literally listening to a masterpiece painting being done.
When I was pregnant with my first daughter, this was all I would listen to. It would just calm me so much. Then I went out and bought all of Andrea Bocelli CDs.
It was a pleasure watching your reaction to this, your face just lit up, your smile grew bigger and bigger by the second. Wonderful, them and you. A brilliant reaction.
Andrea has an enchanting voice that makes me cry. What’s amazing about Sarah is she has beautiful music as soft and sweet as Enya and still sounds heavenly. 💕🎶
JUST found you yesterday and it was the Luciano Pavarotti reaction video, and I SO hoped you’d do Andrea Bocelli!! This was a joy to watch - thank you! I’ve had a silly grin on my face the entire video.
Even though this isn't really my type of music, it's impossible not to appreciate how ridiculously talented these two are and what an amazing performance that was.
Wow my favourite opera singer I have all his cd's I'm such a fan. You just get lost in his voice. She is amazing I have seen her on stage so powerful live. 😊😊😊

We played this at my first husband's funeral, many many years ago. I still get choked up as well.
Me too, allways crying!
sorry for your mom!!...I hope she is enchanting with her voice in heaven!...

Me, too, sitting here with tears running down my face. So happy you were able to experience this music, Jayvee.

If a human being could smile even more, he would...
I was going to say that:) You can literally see the moment where Sarah stole a piece of his heart.lol
Yes! Such genuine JOY! We feel it too, JoVaughn. Awesome song. ❤️❤️
Right? Man isn't scripted. He's just reacting. Good stuff.
Yes! A purity of joy!
They still sing this song at almost every concert. He’s a perfect tenor. Voice from God
He has one of the best voices I've ever heard but calm down dont bring god into it
Andrea B has been blind since childhood. He practices manuevering around the stage before each concert, so he knows his way. He is amazing
Yea I think he was aged 10 and it was during a game of football :(
actually he started losing his eye sight as a child a became legally blind as an adult. he started going blind after he was diagnosed.
Yes it shake me 💖

@Vitali Yes. I said childood. Someone on here said it was a sport injury i think?
You know Andrew Bocelli He’s blind you can’t see and he’s really blessed with a voice like that
He was born with glaucoma and his sight was gradually deteriorating during early childhood but he lost what was left of it completely after a head injury playing football (soccer).
It always saddens me he can't see the adoration he gets when performing. Andrea singing is magical
@@gothic_angel I'm sure he cab feel the overwhelming energy he gets back
His mother was told Andrea had to be aborted because she had appendicitis. She said no. Hrre he is.
Wow. I did not know that!
Doesn’t it just give you chills?! Especially when they both start singing at the same time?
Thank you so much

You should listen to Sarah Brightman sing Phantom of the Opera. Stunning!!
1:35, the moment Sarah Brightman turned it on.
