Classical or opera music isn't normally my cup of tea but I could listen to Andrea Bocelli sing all day long, just something about his voice has such a soothing affect and it's so gorgeous its ridiculous. He and Sarah sound great together also and I just love how she kind of takes care of him when they're onstage together, it's just beautiful the chemistry they have together and you can tell by the way she looks at him when he starts to sing his solo part that she is just as enamored with his voice as everyone else is and he with hers as well.
Sarah Brightman, in a former life was a dancer in a group called Hot Gossip and they had a hit in the UK with a song called “I lost my heart to a starship trooper”.......completely different in every way. Andrea Bocelli......he’s a gift from God. His song “Canto Della Terra” is just something else, gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it.
LOL OMG I thought I was the only person who had even heard of "I lost my heart to a starship trooper"!! I believe she was 18 with that hit!! I still play it quite often, it's on my gym workout list lol. Super catchy tune and you can totally hear Sarah. Love that song!
Seeing your face while listening to this was everything. Being a trained classical singer since age 6, I have always loved to see the impact that great music has on people. So happy that you are letting yourself be open to learning about this style of music. I can tell, you are a fan already!
Classical is maybe my least favourite genre (though I love the "classic" musicals like Phantom that had Sarah Brightman) but, girl... Oof. Something about it makes your soul soar. I couldn't pick apart any technical issues but the feeling it evokes is something else.
1) her voice captured the heart of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. He wrote "Phantom" just for her voice. 2) If you think her voice is great, you should listen her evolution. In the initial run of "Phantom" you will be blown away. 3) you should listen to the studio version of this song in DSD
Your reaction to this video was the most genuine response I have ever seen. I can see you really enjoyed the performance of one of best duets in music history.
Is there a recording of those two singing that? It isn't Crawford's character in Phantom (Erik) who sings that duet, it's Steve Barton's (Raoul), and the famous single is Sarah and Cliff Richard...Whoever it is, yes, it's a lovely song...and it is so cool to see a kid (well, compared to me he is) like Jovaughn getting into this neoclassical singing...
Also, there is a video of Sarah singing Phantom with Antonio Banderas... Yes, the actor... Awesome. It was a benefit charity concert for Andrew Lloyd Webber's birthday. I have the whole thing.
Your “ears have been blessed.” Beautiful turn of phrase! Since you really like Freddie Mercury, and you want to expose yourself to more opera, I think you would really enjoy “Barcelona,“ which Freddie wrote with opera singer Montserrat Cabelle’. There’s much to say about this song, but here’s the short version: This song is about their first meeting, which occurred in Barcelona. Freddie really wanted to meet her because he had a musical crush on her. He was also sick at this time, so I think it was basically one of his goals before he died. Anyway, they immediately felt a BIG connection to each other! They were basically musical soulmates. I’m not too keen on opera, but I really like this song! They loved and deeply respected each other, and after his death, she was bereft.
My first concert was an Andrea Bocelli concert a few years ago. My sister got to be a part of his choir. Even today he sounds just as good, if not better. He had a mic but I don't think he needed it, his voice fills up entire stadiums and arenas, videos don't do it justice how unreal his voice is.
exactly. Opera is not appreciated, or even played, much here on popular radio or shows. And yet this performance is a perfect example of why it should be more appreciated, give it a listen. I am just a normal music listener, but I respect Opera and the talent, training, discipline it takes. Bravo !
I had the privilege of seeing them in person at Madison Square Garden (NYC) and had goosebumps during the entire concert. I paid $200+ and I would pay it again and again to hear their beautiful voices live. So glad that you appreciate them as we do!
The grin on your face when they started singing together simply made my day today and brought me such joy. THAT was the emotion in your grin-PURE JOY. Thank you so much for sharing.
I am an 81 year old white guy. I say this because I want you to know where I am and where I am coming from. All music is related. JZ and Alecia singing New York is just as meaningful and inspirational as Bocelli, Brightman or Pavarotti singing the classics or Opera. Yet for some unknown reason people have let different types of music divide us when it is an art form that should bring us together. I love "Pavarotti" but I also love "Smokey" and "Marvin". And, there is little difference between them. The love that their talent brings to all of us must be celebrated and shared. This is the way I see it and the way I have conducted my file. So believe this: I am a happy guy!

Jayvee, Sarah was the first Christine in The Phantom of the Opera. Andrea is blind and has been since about 11. Both awesome opera singers. Thanks for reacting to this just beautiful.
Watching your face light up when Sarah Brightman hit her first high notes seriously made my day. You have such expressive eyes, and they really showcased the joy you felt in experiencing the song. Love your reactions and look forward to seeing cheering you on as you keep going! New sub!
It brings tears to my eyes! That is some of the best you’ll ever hear! Played this for my driver in China who was just as moved by the intensity and emotion this song creates deep inside, and he didn’t even know the language!
I first heard Andrea Bocelli’s “Romanza” at a bookstore in 1998, when I was a 15-year-old girl. Then and there, I became a fan, and didn’t look back. Even had the good fortune of seeing him in concert back in 2013, at Barclays Center. Brightman’s terrific, too, but Bocelli’s voice blows even hers out of the water!
Even though this isn't really my type of music, it's impossible not to appreciate how ridiculously talented these two are and what an amazing performance that was.
Beautiful. You don't even have to be a lover of opera to appreciate the stunning beauty of this. It brings tears to my eyes every time. "My ears have been blessed" indeed. Just mind-blowing. ❤❤❤
Someone's already stated it, but I will reiterate it: watching your face light up as the music seeps into you is beautiful to see, so genuine, like a child. I'm glad you discovered my Sarah Brightman. She is phenomenal. It's good to note, and I will tell you before some irate opera purist does, Sarah Brightman is not an opera singer, but an operatic one. There is a difference. Opera purists really dislike Sarah, because they feel she has helped, if not single-handedly, destroy the elitism of their club by making dense classical music palatable to the masses. I have always said, "If Sarah Brightman or anyone for that matter inspired you to look into Wagner, Verdi or even the more-accesible Puccini, where's the harm? There is no harm, only benefit." They would rather have their music unchanged and kept "pure" -- rings familiar right? Who cares what they think? Additionally, while opera is classical music, not all classical music is opera. "Classical" is just the umbrella under which "opera" falls. While Sarah has recorded some opera arias, this song is not opera.
When I was pregnant with my first daughter, this was all I would listen to. It would just calm me so much. Then I went out and bought all of Andrea Bocelli CDs.
My dad recorded this and when I went to his place he said, ' you have to hear this ' I was blown away and it was great to see it had the same effect on you. Thing is I find it hard to watch now as it reminds me of my dad who is no longer around. Thank you Jayvon.
I love how the joy of the music is reflected in your face- it's a wonderful reaction. Andrea Bocelli is superbly talented, he sings in multiple languages and he is blind. Sarah Brightman found fame as Christine Daae, she set the bar that other singers singing the role aim to achieve- just stunning. Check out Nicole Scherzinger (yes the lead singer from Pussycat dolls) singing Phantom of the opera- she is so talented.
JUST found you yesterday and it was the Luciano Pavarotti reaction video, and I SO hoped you’d do Andrea Bocelli!! This was a joy to watch - thank you! I’ve had a silly grin on my face the entire video.
I learned to sing this in Italian, I loved it so much. I also for the longest time didnt know Andrea Bocelli was blind. I just assumed his eyes were closed because he was so into the music 😅
When we also consider that Bocelli persevered past the so-called 'handicap' of being blind, to pursue such an undoubted talent, as we have also seen with such as Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and many more, this simply elevates this piece (written by Bocelli himself) even more.
I never had the privilege of seeing Andrea Bocelli but I did get the privilege of seeing Sarah Brightman live twice in the early and mid-2000s and WOW. Her originals and stage performance was next level. Reminded me of that one time in college when I had special mushrooms on my pizza. I know this is an old video I’ve seen before, but had to re-visit and you may or may not know by now that Andrew Lloyd Webber her ex-husband cast her as a first lead in the Broadway play of Phantom of the opera. She is the original.
It was a pleasure watching your reaction to this, your face just lit up, your smile grew bigger and bigger by the second. Wonderful, them and you. A brilliant reaction.
Thank you for not pausing every 5 seconds. This type of music and performance with a live orchestra. Only the few are blessed to be seated in the audience. I’m still dreaming, one day, I’ll be there sitting front row with my cellphone shut off.
Andrea has an enchanting voice that makes me cry. What’s amazing about Sarah is she has beautiful music as soft and sweet as Enya and still sounds heavenly. 💕🎶
Wow my favourite opera singer I have all his cd's I'm such a fan. You just get lost in his voice. She is amazing I have seen her on stage so powerful live. 😊😊😊
it's awesome that you're exploring a bunch of different music. the same thing happened to me a year or two ago and I've really expanded the music I listen to. a lot of people today forget about older music.
I am grateful that older music is being brought to the surface again for young people to discover. Such amazing music was made back in the 1960s and 70's that it needs to stay alive.
She is not an opera singer, she is a musical singer, albeit at the operatic end of the musical genre. She was married to Andrew Lloyd Webber, who wrote several musicals for her and her voice, foremost of which is Phantom Of The Opera.
@@DonLeedhamFilms How is it a negative comment? Either English is not your language or your comprehension is impaired. You clearly are a horrible human.

@@KindCountsDeb3773 Well, she is not an opera singer. Singing musical is different from singing opera. Her voice is not evenly balanced across the entire register. Her vocal range and focal point make her THE musical singer that for a long time was the benchmark for all others.

You didn't 'lose' your soul, rather, your soul was sparked into an everlasting spiritual connection with the DIVINE. So many songs, especially rock n' roll, pop, blues, etc. gets our 'groove' going... the second chakra... the sexual chakra... we love the beat, the bass, the guitars, and singing. However, opera opens and appeals forthrightly to the fourth chakra... the heart chakra... which is why WE ARE ALL so MOVED, almost to tears, hearing it. Yes, listen to more opera and let your soul take flight into love and light.

When we also consider that Bocelli persevered past the so-called 'handicap' of being blind, to pursue such an undoubted talent, as we have also seen with such as Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and many more, this simply elevates this piece (written by Bocelli himself) even more.
No, the piece was written by Lucio Quarantotto who committed suicide in 2012. May he rest in peace.
And now is when we start recommending everything Andrew Lloyd-Webber, starting with Phantom of the Opera (Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman).
1:21 Our boy, Bocelli's face. He's trying to get his game face on, but smiles thinking, "We about to tear this mutha down."
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Andrea Bocelli!! Had concert tickets for this month and of course it was canceled :( I think you will like him
Her voice makes me sit up in my chair. His makes me melt back into it.
It is my privilege to officiate at funerals; this never fails to move me even after hearing it so many times. It's just beautiful.
Andrea has an enchanting voice that makes me cry. What’s amazing about Sarah is she has beautiful music as soft and sweet as Enya and still sounds heavenly. 💕🎶
Watching you listening to this for the first time reminds me of how I felt that first time. The hair goes up on your neck.
This performance was outstanding, both of the singers are at the top of their game and a beautiful song.
There are levels to singing and this unforgettable performance is truly out of this world. 🙌🏻
Opera isn't normally for me BUT to listen to Sarah & Andrea (he's blind) & yet incredible no matter what!!
I love it when she puts her head on his shoulder... I wonder if that was planned.
I love his son, Matteo, too. Together... OMGoodness!
,,, Oh ,,, It would be heavenly to have a woman adore you like that ,,,
they are long time friends, so it probably is natural and her way of showing her respect/love.
Had the pleasure of seeing Andrea boccelli ❤️ in concert absolutely brilliant
Andrea Bocelli isn't actually classified as a opera singer, he's a tenor, people just assume he is because his Italian
imagine being there for that. one of my all time favorites. tears instantly in my eyes just listening to these two sing..
Wow my favourite opera singer I have all his cd's I'm such a fan. You just get lost in his voice. She is amazing I have seen her on stage so powerful live. 😊😊😊
Beautiful isn't it? especially when you don't expect the voice from either of them first time around
it's awesome that you're exploring a bunch of different music. the same thing happened to me a year or two ago and I've really expanded the music I listen to. a lot of people today forget about older music.
I am grateful that older music is being brought to the surface again for young people to discover. Such amazing music was made back in the 1960s and 70's that it needs to stay alive.
That little eyebrow raise ... that’s enchanting 🥰🥰
If someone doesn't react to Elaine Page "Memory" I am going to spontaneously combust 😂
Heaven's choir is waiting for them, glad they loaned them to us ..enchanting is the perfect word ..dude you are the best!
She is not an opera singer, she is a musical singer, albeit at the operatic end of the musical genre. She was married to Andrew Lloyd Webber, who wrote several musicals for her and her voice, foremost of which is Phantom Of The Opera.
,,, I can't think of a single reason to make a negative comment about this woman , you must be a horrible human ,,,
@@DonLeedhamFilms How is it a negative comment?
Either English is not your language or your comprehension is impaired.
You clearly are a horrible human.
@@cush6827 You are fine, but it does seem like you went out of y our way to make sure she was noted as Not being an Opera singer, like a slight. It just comes across that way, to some. But, you're thought, so fine.
@@KindCountsDeb3773 Well, she is not an opera singer. Singing musical is different from singing opera. Her voice is not evenly balanced across the entire register. Her vocal range and focal point make her THE musical singer that for a long time was the benchmark for all others.
Love Andrea Bocceli...and this song is absolutely gorgeous!
Please listen to the original soundtrack of the Broadway show "Phantom of the Opera" you will love it Sarah Brightman was married to the composer Andrew Lloyd Weber who fought to have her in the play
Italian opera will bring you to tears even if you can't understand one single word!!!💜🎶🎵🎼
Love Sarah Brightman, she is amazing! Her "Classics" CD is wonderful.
Watching you be moved by this music makes me smile. It’s a bright spot in my day. :).
Bocelli, my favorite. So warm and approachable. Not stuffy.
Your reaction is as captivating to watch as they are to listen to.
That orchestra too mind............ when they stop singing and the drums n violins continue............ some music is just beyond beautiful.
