@@BuildMontage many thanks for the quick reply Tony. I already have a two channel Marantz to cover zone 2, but was contemplating buying a second 2 channel Marantz to expand to 11, but for an extra $400ish is the Tonewinner 11 ch just as good an amp as the 2 ch Marantz, considering capability/value for money over brand name?
Hey Tony, do you have any dralings with the AMC branded power amps here in Australia. Theyre sold by RIO. How do you think the tonnewinner compares to the 150w/ch AMC power amps? Thanks
No I don't have any experience with AMC. My reviews are usually stand alone without comparisons because it's unfair to pick a random amp to compare it with when there are thousands of options. I try to review on it's own merits. I would happily have a Tonewinner in my setup if I needed it.
I just got the pre-pro in and have been warned that the autocal is not the best on it - however it does allow for PEQ so I might get REW set up and see if i can do a manual calibration... will see.. 3-4 weeks before I have time to unbox it!
Not to mention a 1 year HIGHLY CONDITIONAL bogus warranty that is essentially based on 1 man's word. Buy things from established companies folks. Unless you have truley disposable income in which case why not buy a McIntosh? 🤣
Why is that nonsense? It's still 180w @8ohm with all channels driven. You can't find another amplifier in it's price range that gets close to 200w all channels driven. The closest would be monoprices monolith line, but that one is $1900
@Build Montage yes. I did the math Emotiva is $2200 7 chan 200 watts all chan driven. For $630 less & only 20 watts less(who can phonically tell diff) this is a great buy
It’s possibly sure. I don’t speculate on these things as I have no way of testing. But even so, if you have decently efficient speakers, 150w is more than enough.
You DO NOT WANT one. If you have a problem you’re outta luck. My emails were never returned and I had a bad channel a few months in. Beautiful unit but wtf zero service? Buyer beware in the US.
I believe that you haven't really experience the full power of your system... If you read this do the following you will thank me!!! Step 1 only use the external amp, but also turn off the internal amp of your Pioneer Elite AV. Step 2 do the auto audio calibration. Step 3 turn up all your speaker level to highest level... Step 4 enjoy it... The higher voltage ⚡ from the RCA outputs your power amplifier will ❤️ it...
I did do those things, changed the speaker outputs and ran MCACC (It's showin in the video), but also the setup has been dismantled now :) I think it sounded great with the extra power.
It's called working and loving your hobby. A good hunting rifle cost 1200 and up. Just going out to eat with 2 people gona coast you 70$ this is a piece of art that you could be using for many many years to come .. so 1500 is not alot of money..unless you work at 7/11
It must be said that there is no such thing in the United States as a conditional limited warranty on any electronic no matter where they are made in the the planet.. I still can't help but continue to laugh about the fact that a company is touting a conditional to the warranty on their product,.. what are they thinking p
Not sure I understand what you mean. Here in Australia we have a two year unconditional warranty by law regardless of the company's own policy. Even Apple has no choice but to abide by our consumer law here in Australia.
This amplifier,,, is not I repeat not 300 West RMS per channel all channels driven, it is a 180 W RMS all channels driven, I don't know why this false advertisement keeps coming up for this amplifier it is not necessary 😮
This was the info I was given at the time by Tonewinner. Either way 180w is still a lot and more than most speakers need. I have no way of testing so I clearly stated I’m going from the manufacturer.
Yes this is budget for sure. It also seems really poorly designed from the specs on their site. 300 w on Channel driven is crappy. My amps push continuos 400 watts into 8ohms, 800 into 4 and 1600 into 2.

I’d try to keep the same amp if possible
So Tony. When are you selling the Elektra's on Stereonet. I want to buy them HA HA
Lol never!!
This looks like a beast, thanks Tony!
Thanks mate!
I want to move from 3 amps to one of these but not sure what the 4 ohm X6 would be.Can I run 6 big Cerwin Vega's?
I run this Amp with 4 ohm LCRs and 8 ohm Surrounds and Rears and it made a huge difference.
Did you notice any major difference between this and the elektra amps you run?
Not really. Both sound great. I love my Elektras. Tonewinner would be my next choice for my room if I needed more amps.
@BuildMontage thanks for the reply. I am currently tossing up between the 11ch tonewinner and a 3ch anthem.
hello mate, how would you compare this to the elektra HD2?, cheers
I prefer the Elektras personally but these are definitely a viable option.
Can i hook this up to my Marantz SR7015??
Most definitely.
nice mate--- i cant say im a fan of that huge ugly vu meter, they should have gone a screen with different choices,
If it's in an AV rack then it shouldn't matter too much! Beast of an amp though :)
Hey, good video man! What's your opinion on using speaker outs On av receiver without pre outs, via line level converters?
Oh that's interesting - I've not ever seen/tried that before. What reciever do you have that doesn't have pre-outs?
Maybe try it out for yourself, could make for an interesting video 👌
Did my comment regarding my receiver post? it has dissapeared for me
@@scarymonsterman94 no I can see it.
@@scarymonsterman94 maybe one day :)
May I know what center speaker is that, please?
Krix Epicentrix
They do a 570 watt by 2
I didn't measure but either way awesome amplifier for the price.
That’s a different model btw
Emotiva XPA or Tonewinner?
I dare say both would be quite close in performance and it would come down to after warranty dealer support....
How is it now after 1 year?
It was a loaner - I sent it back to the dealer.
I can GUARANTEE you that all the comments here saying "Oh what a great amp, I have 5 of them in my system are plants." Nobody owns these folks
I know plenty of people that own them. Go back under your bridge.
Are the UV meters different than VU meters?
Ha! Slip of the tongue 👅
kind of looks like the tv has motion smoothing but maybe thats just the video
Nah no motion smoothing - probably just the recording because of the frame rate recorded at 60fps but playing on the TV at 24fps.
I think this is a great product. I am skeptical about their Pre Pros however. But the amplifier is solid.
I just got the pre-pro in and have been warned that the autocal is not the best on it - however it does allow for PEQ so I might get REW set up and see if i can do a manual calibration... will see.. 3-4 weeks before I have time to unbox it!
At300 is basic but it's good
$1500 is budget?
For a beast of a 7 channel amp? Hell yes!
300 watts per channel WITH ONE CHANNEL DRIVEN. such nonsense.
The closest would be monoprices monolith line, but that one is $1900
These are pink bunny fresco watts. They are measured by how much frozen yogurt would a rabbits foot melt overnite. RMS? What’s that?
Zen it's 266 watts 2ch 8ohm driven. It's a beast of an amp! Can't beat it for the $$
@@joelkuznetsov2826
Is this just a power amp
Yes
@@BuildMontage 👍
180 PER CHANNEL ALL CHANNELS DRIVEN !!! Remember that
Even if it's that 180w continious all channels is pretty good
@Build Montage yes. I did the math Emotiva is $2200 7 chan 200 watts all chan driven. For $630 less & only 20 watts less(who can phonically tell diff) this is a great buy
I´m willing to bet my pay check that it does not have more than 150 watts per channel...
It’s possibly sure. I don’t speculate on these things as I have no way of testing. But even so, if you have decently efficient speakers, 150w is more than enough.
Great unit, do your audition homework
You DO NOT WANT one. If you have a problem you’re outta luck. My emails were never returned and I had a bad channel a few months in. Beautiful unit but wtf zero service? Buyer beware in the US.
These units ARE SUPPORTED by Selby and local distributor's here in Australia which is the target audience of this video.
Geeze y’all rich. $1500 is budget friendly? Where y’all get all yalls $???
Everyone has different means of earning income. I save up and work several jobs plus RUclips to buy my gear.
@@BuildMontage morality is morality no matter how much someone makes.
@@tjblackartist im not sure what you mean? Please explain.
It's called working and loving your hobby. A good hunting rifle cost 1200 and up. Just going out to eat with 2 people gona coast you 70$ this is a piece of art that you could be using for many many years to come .. so 1500 is not alot of money..unless you work at 7/11
@@joelkuznetsov2826 get some morals
$1500 budget?
For a 7 channel 300 watt per channel… absolutely!!
@@BuildMontage It's so budget you are returning it?
@@brandonedwards7166 um… that’s kinda what I do… I review stuff and send it back. The stuff I want to buy I buy…
Yes this is budget for sure. It also seems really poorly designed from the specs on their site. 300 w on Channel driven is crappy. My amps push continuos 400 watts into 8ohms, 800 into 4 and 1600 into 2.
I’m sure you paid a lot more for it. Only top tier amps will fully double output when impedance is halved.
