  • This is the knife for EDC in an urban environment, or the ultralight outdoor enthusiast. The nearly full sized handle, and flat ground blade make it a great small sized fixed blade knife. Shown in the video is the Izula II in the complete KIT, whose components I talk about briefly.
Check out the specs at eseeknives.com and this knife can be found on my Online Store: www.inner-bark....)
    First Impressions:
    The Good:
    Concealable size
Good construction and attention to detail
    Razor sharp from the factory
Some useful goodies added to the kit
    The Bad:
Instructions on how to attach the whistle were non existent
Wish the sheath came with a set of longer chicago screws and spacers for more configurations.

Just checked out your store, very nice! This would make a great fixed blade for an edc bag.

I'm usually a 3knife carry, sometime two knife, depends, and which set, a chopper 7 1/2"-9 1/2"+, a on person carry, 5"-6", and a neck knife, I found out with scales on my neck knife, it add's another dimension to my knife carry.

EDC/self defense mostly, but I also want something that would perform adequately well in a SHTF/survival situation. That's a lot to ask of one knife, but it would likely be the only fixed blade I'd have on me if I was away from my home/vehicle (unless intentionally heading into the bush of course).
Right now I'm carrying a far less expensive CRKT Triumph N.E.C.K. knife. It works well in the EDC/self-defense role, but it's not something I would want to have to depend on in a survival situation!

    Hello,
    Great videos!
Will you do a video on the TOPS Xcest Delta and on the TOPS MSK? I am interested in both these knives. I'm looking for your thoughts on these two systems and your experiences with them.
    Thanks
    JC

    True.
But it has not to be one of those "magic" supersteels.
440C with a good heat treat *e.g. used in the xc est alpha by tops, I believe) is already very good.
Fällkniven knives with their laminated VG-10 steel are said to be really good, too.

The Falkeniven steels tendet to be brittle. If you are a bit hard on gbeir blades you may chop tbe edge or break the tip off.

And yes, SS knives usually are a tat 'softer' when it comes to edge retention, but it is still easier to improvise and sharpen your knife with a simple flat stone than keeping your HC from rusting in a wet environment, leave alone derusting it or stopping any more oxidation...but that is again my 5cts...

Actually no I haven't. I already carry at least one good folding knife (Spyderco Endura 4 with the Emerson Wave or a Kershaw Blur Tanto) and a multi-tool (usually a Gerber MP800) whenever I leave the house. What I'm really looking for now is a good, concealable fixed blade to be my go to self defense knife that will also work as a survival knife in a bad situation.
I haven't made any decisions yet.

Those are good knives no doubt. Any blade longer than around 4" gets to be difficult to conceal though. The blade on the Desert Son is 3", and I really like the blade shape. It's similar to the knife that I really want, the Mercworx Orion, but only costs about 40% of what the Orion does. It's also about an inch shorter for better concealment. I've also considered the Tops 'Coyote Blue' (hunter point), but am definitely leaning towards the Desert Son. I haven't decided for sure yet though.

What do you think of the Tops Desert Son?

what would you say about this for a small bushcraft knife? i mainly go on overnighters and i have learned to do with smaller blades. how would you conceal this?

    • @denisdegamon8224
      @denisdegamon8224 4 года назад

Just put it in your pocket or on paracord as a kneck knife.

  • @ΛεωνάνδροςΠεργαμενός

wha is the clip on the
    opposite side of the Sheath?

It 's a belt or pants clip, can also clip ontk your pocket.

i beg to differ from the usual mainstream pro high carbon opinion.
imho it can be potentially fatal if one of the most important tools one has in a survival situation is prone to rust, especially as as good as any means of proper maintenance are very unlikely and most protective coatings vanish after a day or two. I believe it is best to go with a high quality stainless with a very good heat treatment.
But then again: any knife you have on you is the best knife in a survival situation.

Help me understand......you said you sometimes carry this in the city, but I don't know of a single city in the United States where you can carry a fixed blade. Meaning......a cop catches you with this and its an illegal weapons possession charge. That's a felony.

the777 you can carry a fix blade in every single city of the U.S including most of the countries around the world

Thats not so, many cities and States have various ordinances that allow for carrying fix blade knives.
If you have a CCW license most states like Florida (weapons licence)
You can carry any number of weapons concealed.
