  • Since they were put it back in November the morel 5372 hydraulic roller lifters have been nothing but a problem . They are coming out and I am putting something a bit different in it , this is something I have done before on 2 occasions and it worked fine . Stay Safe & God Bless.

Buddy I know exactly what your going through. Yes indeed, Morel is rubbish.
I bought a set of Morel 5321 hyd roller lifters for my small block Mopar. They are absolute rubbish, I wish I'd never bought them. Noisy as a bucket of bolts, so noisy its embarrassing to have the engine running near friends. I cant remove them without removing the heads so they are still in there otherwise I'd have thrown them in the trash a long time ago. WHATEVER YOU DO NO NOT BUY MOREL !!!!! ABSOLUTE RUBBISH.
So bad I'm actually considering going back to hyd flat tappet. I'm so sick of these things rattling like they do. Tried oils from 5w-30, 10w-30, 15w-40 and straight 30 . Tried preloads from 1/4 turn through to 1 3/4 turn. Valve spring pressure as recommended by Morel. Block has new bronze lifter bores fitted and sized to 1.7 thou clearance. Spent so much time trying to get these to shut up, lost track of how many times I've had to rocker covers off. I went hydraulic hoping for a quiet set and forget engine but all I can head when driving is the bloody rattle from under the hood.
Embarrassing when people start telling you you've got a problem with your solid lifters when they hear the thing run. As if that wasnt bad enough you have Chris Straub making every excuse under the sun and of course the problem is never the lifter. that guy is soo full of bullshit it spews out of his mouth when the speaks. Absolute moron that refuses to listen but just keeps throwing excuses. Just google "Morel noise" and see for yourself. How can all these people have the same problem if as Chris says its lifter clearance or oil type or valve springs or engine buildres fault or dirty oil or incorrect installation or cam profile and the list goes on. I've heard it all.
Frankly they should be pulled off the market till Morel finds what the hell is wrong with these things or tell people they rattle like hell and drop the price to $100 a set. Even that is expensive for such rubbish.

I bet they are made in China. I wonder if a guy could do that to a big block mark IV?
