    I'm a husband and a father.
    I've lost sleep cleaning my kids' vomit, or by staying up late listening to them and helping them understand things they're going through. I've gone hungry at times when work was lean so that my wife and kids were able to eat three meals. My joints ache from years in the trades supporting them. Fatherhood/manhood has left me with many scars, but each one is a badge of honor, a source of pride and joy.

      While I'm really appreciating people like you and knowing how hard to stay on the line as a good father for years, I have to ask you a very cliche but important question: Did you ever feel like "having a child/breeding" was a bad idea after all the things you've gone through, all the struggles you had in your life?

      @f.jideament 4 года назад +11

      @@dansmitham2437 thanks for your answer. I didn't ask you that only because of my curiosity. I asked because today, as a 27 yo male human beign I had a real deep talk with my father when we go to the fishing at a public area in our city. My father at first just tried to deny my arguments because he was trying to protect my psychological state at it's best but when I dig the hole deeper he just surrendered and said immediately said "yes I know how dark this place at it's essence and yes I'm tricked by my own creation to breed and I now realize that the self pleasure I had from the breeding was the most evil thing I had in my entire life. Because you're just forcing one more soul to break their bonds with a greater and complex thing for their own suffering and you're doing it for your own selfish animalistic pleasure. But that doesn't mean you have to do what I've done to you or maybe you do exactly the same but better."
      So, there are so many things you and I can argue about these sentences and I would like to do it with scientifical facts but it may turn into a clown fiesta on the internet. Because of that I will try to tell you what I told my father to get his confession with a different way: The truth is all of us know that the part of suffering is the only observable truth for the current state of our existence and it is completely illogical to do it to an another one from your kind and yet still almost all the human beings are listening to that damn evil in their body every time. That means almost all the human beings are malevolent and even worst, they're malevolent against the one from their own. When they're getting older and older, they're losing their communication with the evil instincts and bam, realisation of the truth. You can deny it like my father but one day you will realize that people are raped in wars, murdered like insects and consuming each other every day and you just added one or more prey/s to the pool of chaos with your false hope because you're nothing but an ordinary human beign and who gives a fuck about logic when it comes to the self pleasure.
      When the day comes and your kids talk to you like I did with my father, if they're smart enough to understand at least the concept of creation, please be very gentle and just tell the truth. Don't lie to them with your false beliefs. Just say it, you did it because it felt good to be a father and that's all. You knew you had no control on anything but still you did it because, as the man said exactly the same in the full video and I agree with him, you're a human and you did what you had to. You cannot change your genes and the malevolence in them but you can tell the truth to your daughters.

    • @dansmitham2437
      @dansmitham2437 4 года назад +39

      @@f.jideament Pretty bold of you to assert your truth and then speak of my false beliefs when you don't even know what I believe.
      I'm going to respectfully disagree with your entire post.
      Yes there's evil in the world, there's also great beauty and joy and love to be experienced.
      I don't believe my children's souls were in a wonderful place until I ripped them away for my own pleasure and in my opinion that's a terrible and unhealthy way to generalize the experience of family. I don't believe my children existed as souls before their conception, not do I believe that any soul of theirs or mine will survive the body upon death.
      I would say that a 27 year old human should gain a little more wisdom and experience about how wide and varied the world is before presuming to so confidently tell another, much older person who and what they are.

      @@dansmitham2437 thanks for your honest answer and I've to tell you I didn't talk about my personal beliefs in my previous posts, they were just one perspective in all others and you mentioned about that too. Also I didn't mean to be offensive about your beliefs and I know I have no idea about anything related to you. That means maybe you're just a mimic of a father, living all alone and posting stuff on internet as if you're a real father. There are so many variations of perspectives.
      I don't want to take your well deserved precious family time. I just wanted to act like a opposite side and see what is the answer, as I always do in my life since my childhood. That's the most efficient way for me to understand if the other person is really honest with their opinions.

You remember these kids, usually the bully type with a lot of aggression and not very popular. When I was also quite young she told me about how she dealt with those boys, and it has always stuck with me:
    "I give them a task, a position, someone or something to look after."

      @@AOmega72 Let me be very clear. In no way, shape or form was I saying women (or myself) lack logic . And to say women as a whole lack logic or it’s somehow “difficult” for them sounds like an insult. I’m saying that personally, in MY own life, have found that if I sit with information longer, allow my emotions about a situation / discussion to subside, I can make better decisions in the long run. Chose my words more wisely. Avoiding the proverbial “foot in mouth” outcome in an argument. Especially when communicating with men, I’ve found they don’t understand how a woman thinks and the feeling behind their words. They don’t catch hints. So, instead, I’ve adjusted my reaction time to remove the chance of being misunderstood.

      @@AOmega72 I hope for your sake that just came out wrong 😂
      Women seem to generally be more developed in their feeling side and intuition. Now you could argue that's at the cost of logic. And while that's sometimes true, to generalize that argument is a dangerous mistake to make.
      Also while men who develop their feeling side can end up doing just as well as women, the same can easily be said about women developing their logical reasoning. And many of them do. That's also why most women currently end up being smarter than most men. Perhaps us men could follow their example and make the effort in catching up to most women on the feeling side? Not implying that's it's a race. Merely that it's an opportunity for growth that we should take.

    I think the future authoring program can be helpful to all in varying degrees, regardless of human demographic differences because essentially it's about developing self-awareness skills via self-reflection and using it a manner to learn from some of these life experiences to see how you can increase the likelihood of lessening the suffering in your life whilst also improving it towards a better trajectory. And that doesn't seem to discriminate, unless probably your IQ is so low that one doesn't understand how to comprehend meaning of words and actions - to those I feel terribly sad and sorry for.

    During school whenever the teacher had to assign the prefect/leadership duty to someone she would always choose the troublemakers. The change was so big, all those troublemakers whose names probably would be on the blacklist by the end of the day would be the one reporting to the teachers about the day. It's as if giving them a direction and a purpose made them improve even for themselves and for the people around them.

    I think I became conscious very late in life, and my regret is the position i put myself into when I was unconscious. Now, this has nothing to do with good or bad outcomes, more to do with not being conscious in doing whatever I did, for if I was conscious about it, I would accept the consequences no matter what.

  • @curtiso779
    @curtiso779 2 года назад +1

    The problem is, in the face of all this science and understanding we continue to accumulate about ourselves and our environment, we are questioning even why it is that responsibility gives meaning. Like, why is that so, about responsibility, for what reason, and really to what end? So we can continue having and raising our kids successfully, for them to have kids, and them to have kids..only for ourselves to be essentially forgotten after a few generations or so? (or perhaps not given technology in some ways is immortalising our individuality to an extent). And in the process of our existence, of raising our offspring, we reveal and uncover what seems to be good in the world, reduce suffering around us etc..hopefully, and who knows how good things can get? Sure, but still, to what end, and just why. This is the problem I always come up against personally, despite devouring probably close to a thousand hours or Jordan Peterson. Repeatedly often. I love him, his work, his courage and his own ability to bear tremendous responsiblity. He is an absolute father figure to me in many ways.
    To what end. Jordan would say something like, well, we don't know to what end, we don't know how good things can be, but it's better than suffering and cowering in a corner simply waiting to die. Something like that. Which you can't honestly argue. But given our target/goal-oriented and curious nature, we are obviously striving collectively towards something, but we have literally no idea what lol.
    I am unable to act in the world, take on responsibility for this reason. Cause I am acutely aware of all of this. Sure, I'll bear as much responsibility as I can knowing that at the very least it will probably make me feel like the existence of my being is at all justified.
    An increasing number of us are literally trying to "solve" our mortality. I wonder what Jordan thinks about the prospect of human immortality. I often see the argument that this would be terrible because we would become desperately bored after some hundreds or thousands of years. And probably so. The exact number of years an immortal individual being would get "bored" would be subjective to that being, I can only assume. And also that, it's the finitude of life that gives it its meaning. Maybe so. But then surely you would encounter, experience and reveal more meaning if you were around longer?
    At least we would get to chose when we die though, on our own terms, on our own accord, surroundings and so on....immortality is just weird.
    I know Jordan doesn't believe the fundamental issue people face in their lives is coming to terms with their own mortal finitude, rather, it's the complexity of life and our handling of it as beings that suffer and face constant tragedy. Death, we are made aware of young and accept as we grow up cause "that's life".
    Life and living are confusing to me, and find myself in a state of perpetual paralysis, partly because of its vast complexity, partly because I'm finite...

    Jordan always talks about men with a good light on them. They listen to his videos and get conclusions that suit them. That's why so many followers. Things like "women are doing better because are more agreeable". Well, that was for survival in the past for obvious reasons, and it is no longer necessary. Is being agreeable a bad thing? So men are not agreeable? I don't think so. You see, in my workplace I wouldn't notice any difference. If men get more frustrated than women...that I don't know, but we are all act the same..i.e. being nice to your bosses.

    I was watching a live stream and someone committed saying that young men should look up Jordan Peterson. And i did now my whole mind set has changed on a lot of things he has talked about. Now I’m not saying I’m some sort of expert on what he is saying and the facts that he’s stating. But it’s opened my eyes and my mindset. And that’s what this whole video is about and it’s kinda sad on how my current generation is.
