One thing why I think Dr JP is so popular is the fact that he is so genuine and pure with his messages. Not trying to sell anything. Only telling the truth and his interpretation of life
He’s selling one thing, the possibilities of our potential. He’s not selling the typical ways, he’s encouraging us to buy into ourselves and who we can be by merely doing the menial trivial things that we often don’t even think about.
@Psychonaut Think critically, learn what you can and if you don't have something positive to say, at least shut up. This way you might have a chance of bringing some genuine happiness in your life.
@Psychonaut how bad are you hurting that you need to put other people down when they're already in a bad place. I can't believe people need to take time out of their day to do these things. It's so painful to watch. Thankfully Jordan Peterson is recovering and there will be good news soon. God Bless! Stay strong, stay safe and take care of yourselves! Wishing everyone the best!
@Psychonaut Nobody said he is perfect, nobody is perfect after all.. but that's why JP deserves even more praises because to be down, to be a faulty person.. but still have the power and the mindset to inspire good things and give support in such a way is even more admirable... It's easy to criticise, to hurt, to destroy..., try doing the opposite even when you're in a more comfortable position than JP, see how hard that is and then, but only then you can say anything. If you can't understand this, that means you just like to see the world burn for no reason therefore I'll leave you be and wish for you to eventually wake up. :-)
Jordan Peterson is a truly remarkable human being. His words affect me on a fundamental level, something I have never experienced listening to anyone else.
The thing is, that he does the same to me too. But it is difficult for me to believe that because for years, I've wrongly deemed motivational speakers to be hocus pocus.
@@yourallbrainwashed If you haven't been paying attention it is ok. We are not talking about the man in the fluffy clouds. It is the reality that you are stuck with, if you are a bad person you are in hell and it is not a surprise. If you are rude, people are rude back to you, if you are afraid, you become more fearful. If you are kind and caring other people CARE about YOU. When you are ready, on your own terms, you might want to consider looking at life from another point of view. I would say that the CHURCH has lost its way. Most people agree with that.
2 months ago I watched this, feeling inspired to get my act together at a job I otherwise hated Tomorrow I start my new promotion, filled with purpose and inspired to continue my life's progression. I owe it to this video
One of the wisest persons I've heard talk. At 41 years of age I feel the deepest respect for this man. A person worth knowing and talking to. Every single word. Every single second of his voice makes it worth it more to just sit for a longer period and just get as much from his words.
@@keypawn3024 Van Gogh was mentally and physically ill, ate paint, cut his own ear and killed himself... But are we about to pretend like that has anything to do with whether or not he was a great painter? No, because it's wholly irrelevant.
How could anyone not like this guy? Just a really smart dude who is trying to help people. Nothing wrong with that in my book and everything right with it.
@@charlesbourgoigne2130 I reckon the first video link you posted is actually quite impressive on JP's part. And his original issue didn't seem to be about the gay couple or what have you but about the baker being forced to take a job against his will. A point which there's a strong argument for initial argument for.
Charles Bourgoigne Peterson has never once said he “hates gay people” or anything like that, his issue with the legislature brought in to canada comes from him taking issue with the state deciding what can and cannot be said because it becomes a slippery slope when the government can decide whether you can be thrown in prison for using terminology they deem unacceptable and i dont mean hate speech, he also said for the record that he would call a transgender person in his class whatever they ask him to address them as

@Psychonaut But he isn't selling anything. All of his lectures and content is available for free online for young people like myself to use and learn from. Maybe because you're in retirement and you see things differently than us, but we really do listen to Peterson and his words.
Jet Spencer I actually thought of Superman after he said that. I got to thinking... is Superman still not heroic? He doesn’t have to save people. He could be lazy or indifferent towards people in need of help, but instead he constantly saved lives. Superman could have even used his power for evil intentions. PS: I prefer Batman as well.
@@vitogrimes6006 yeah, but it's lame and boring. No one wants to see the hero of a story not struggle whatsoever. That's the whole point of cryptonite, to give fragility to superman.
This man in part saved my life & my son's. Got to a point where I just collapsed, mentally and physically... Spiritually to I suppose. I've always been good to my Son, but I lost myself, & had a really hard time facing each day. Started listening to his lectures, & through that & my Son, (he's 10 now, but he's always had a lot of confidence in me even when I didn't) anyways, in about 8 months or so, everything changed, & now 2 years, it's even better. I'm living proof that if you can truly listen to Mr Peterson, & actually do the work, & never give up, your life will get better... Because you will get better.
Nice one Luke, Well done mate. Inspiration comes from many places and Jordan Peterson is as good an inspiration as you can get, glad it is working out for you and your kid. Keep the faith
He’s says all this like he’s saying it to his own kids, he takes it personally that he wants us to make a difference to ourselves and to the world. He believes we can make it to the best possible level for everyone. Then we need to believe this to
I do not recall who said this but I found it intensely accurate. It was something like this... “Do you want to know why so many young men are listening to Jordan Peterson? Because Jordan Peterson talks to them like they’re young men.” I believe he influences all sexes who listen to him yet I found that statement to be true.”
I am rather old now but have everything I want and ever worked for. Throughout my life I pictured a stream of opportunities passing by. Some not so good and many pretty much equal to what I had, but I had to stay alert for when a truly good one appeared it had to be snatched, and by God I did every time. Even after devastating experiences that took it all away I would keep watching and gradually ratcheting myself back up. I say stay alert always, take a step that is upward, and never give up. Best wishes to all you youngsters, I give a little of my life advice with love.
*I can never get enough of listening to the wisdom Jordan Peterson offers in his lectures. If people stopped and truly listened to his message without having any bias against the man, everyone would take something useful away from him. Truly inspiring.*
I had a friend in college who had had a pretty rough start in life. Among other things, at 14 he came home from school and found his dad dead in the garage. He had shot himself and made quite a mess. My friend was a Russian immigrant, and his mother didn't speak much English, so at 14 he became the man of the house. He took a job as a bus boy at a local restaurant. By 16 he was effectively the assistant manager. One day a billionaire who occasionally visited the restaurant noticed him and decided to take him under his wing. My friend came from nothing and got himself a degree in business management from one of the top management universities in the country because at 14 he knew that even though he was a bus boy, he should still do that job well.
What an honor that we can listen to this man while he is still alive! He will go down in History as a brilliant thinker, an ideal to strive towards. May he live a long and healthy life!
I have nothing else than genuine love for this guy. This happened after watching his video's and reading his books. He is so damn brave and one of the few speakers who's mission is to be true to.. himself, all of his thoughts and feelings and humanity. In my book he is one of a kind for sure.

Awesome Job Thank you please keep me in this loop changed my life!!
Caught myself thinking some real negative shit today and this video came across my feed. Good reminder that you are always behind the wheel, no matter how shitty the road is.
I love most things jordan peterson says, but I was always sceptical about this particular subject. Anyway I thought I'd try and change some things that I knew were wrong like being bitter and jealous towards work colleagues, not making enough effort at things etc. Well I can tell you my life has completely changed for the good and as soon as I started changing things it almost became natural. I am a better person. Thanks Dr Peterson
Can you go into a bit more detail? I feel like I'm in that same skeptical place... Some of this sounds too karmic to be easily accepted by my mind. ... But I sense that there is truth in there somehow.
@@breakingthemasks There are so many psychological elements to string together to understand this but as simple as possible... start with recognizing negative automatic thought ie. Boss asks you to do something, but they have already filled your day with a tonne of other stuff... you can either think "friggin' boss lumping me with all this shit, what an asshole" or you can think "damn this is hard, but the boss has trusted me to this task because they know I can do this". Start by re-framing every event in your mind to a more positive approach and you will automatically start thinking more positive or at least pragmatically about everything. Apart from this, consider reading 12 Rules for Life.. its cheap and set a goal of reading about one rule a night and there will be more there.
You damn jealous loser! Go clean your bedroom! Lol Get a haircut! I've been using that last one at work for a while now... But seriously thanks for improving, when you get closer to those superior people and nip at their heels and even cause them to rise up another level to stay superior to you then you have really done a great thing! Those of great sportsmanship and competition with the highest respect for the losers below them will humble themselves sometimes and say that the second place person or team pushed them higher and made them achieve more... And that indeed is a noble effort for all the second place folks... And third place 😉 But fourth place people should never get a trophy 🧐 And then there's another approach from "searching for Bobby Fischer": Bruce : Do you know what it means to have "contempt" for your opponent? Josh : No. Bruce : It means to hate them. You have to hate them Josh, they hate you. Josh : But I don't hate them. Bruce : Well you'd better start.
"You're in a damaged structure, you're a damaged structure. You're in a damaged structure". When he said it the second time it took on a whole different meaning.
I’ve listened to countless hours of Jordan Peterson on RUclips. One thing I’ve noticed is that he’s never repeating himself. He’s always effortlessly finding new ways of expressing information, in a well spoken and meaningful manner. So impressive!
I remember when Christopher hitches died and I was so sad we lost such an important intellectual. I hope Dr Peterson makes a full recovery. We need him now more than ever.
It’s time for us to pick up the weight Dr. Peterson has carried for all this time. His lessons have impacted us; there’s no doubt about it. It is now OUR time to inspire the world by using the tools this man has handed us. Let’s end the suffering.
if he was born back in the day, people would call him a Prophet. His understanding of the world is so optimistic and profound. he helped me orient my life in a way that gives it deep meaning. i'll be grateful to this man forever.
That’s a little too far. What he says isn’t anything crazy or really knew. Its more about how he says it and how he shows our potential. If you sat down and thought about things as much as he does you’d come to the same conclusions on most things
My heart strengthens when I hear (and feebly attempt to embody) your words. JP I’ve been listening to you for over 2 years, bought many copies of your book and your words continue to make me a better mother and a better all around human in the world. I thank you. 🌹👊🏼👍
When I listen to Jordan Peterson, I find it startling that people as extraordinary as him even exist, although they are few. The man is a boon to mankind.
"Set a goal so big that you cant achieve it until you grow into the person who can". "You can have results or excuses. NOT BOTH". "Poor is what happens when the fear of losing becomes greater than the excitement of winning"
If it wasn't for this amazing man, I would still be in bed, I would still be losing my dreams, hating my life, but ever since i've been watching these videos, I wouldn't of discovered running again, I wouldn't of discovered happiness again.. I wouldn't of discovered a better life, if it wasn't Jordan and WordsToTheWise, I wouldn't be here right now. Thank you SO much!!
Thank sir, started reading your book. And I'm connected with so many things that I learned and paid no attention too. Now I really love my God and my father, my peers. These things, reminders has made me grow and reflect this God given right to reflect his qualities.
@Psychonaut I feel you! That's the great thing about being human, just like the pet thingy. We can take better care of others rather than ourselves. But thanks for your opinion.
@Psychonaut Bro you keep copy pasting the same thing and while you may have some points, at the same time this does not negate any of the good a man like peterson has done through his words and wisdom. We live in a society that when someone fails or makes mistakes we take them and put them in a pile that says "wuss, coward, clown, etc." This happens all the time and I need you to know that you are truly not doing any amount of good by doing this and contributing to a very real problem in the world. And no, I'm not projecting anything into you, and I also don't listen to "truth" coming from someone with only 6 subs and zero content.
@PsychonautOkay, how about this, I'm a reporter. I listen and ask questions for a living. What do you do for yours? I really dont understand what you have against him ASIDE from what you keep posting.
He is amazing. Such a gift , how he can talk . His delivery is do easy to listen to . Never hesitates ? Thoughtful and empathetic , I am a Christian a d a believer and I learn so much from this man I have no idea if Jordan Peterson is a believer but he has been blessed with gifts 🙏
i’m so grateful for videos and for channels like this, and for people like jordan peterson. if you’re in a certain, uncertain headspace then videos like these can really feel like a warm blanket and a light in the dark. i think it’s admirable that for whatever reasons, this man and a lot like him chose careers in handing people the tools needed to guide themselves through the most daunting chapters of their lives
Half my life is over. I slowly get a minimal understanding of life, and a certain understanding of history. Dr. Peterson has been a huge help on this journey. I hope he feels well very soon.
@Psychonaut Well..well...well... Look who it is again ! You surely have some deep issues and need help. You know.. when 1 or 2 people tell you you need help, you can ignore them, but when 10+ people tell you the same thing.. I consider it's time for you to at least go home and rethink your life ... if not seek professional help ! You will be surprised of how many things are there besides hate and envy.... the hell, you might end up helping someone...
@Psychonaut lol please explain to me what indicates that i have comprehension issues in my previous comment and also that riot thing... What are you even talking about??
There can never be another Jordan Peterson. The way he moves his mind and weaves his messages are equal parts soothing and calming as well as motivating and exciting. What an absolute gem!
"The unbearable catastrophe of being" - what a great phrase. No greater truth than truth itself - because we are all in that same dilemma and trying to fight our way around in it or (inside) out of it. Good luck, everyone. Peace be unto you.
Dr. Peterson's words have encouraged me to face life in a way I never did before, knowing that even suffering can have a meaning, and that I can do more and be more, I've quit drinking, waking up late or finding excuses to avoid responsibility, cause I know I can transform chaos into good for me and this world. Many people misjudge Dr Peterson, but they should stop and listen, because he's changed the world for good.
Jordan Peterson has become one of the great gifts of a loving God to those who aren’t doing well. I say this knowing he doesn’t identify as a religious man. Point being: God can use anyone to deliver His message of love - even an Atheist (though Peterson isn’t one).
@rross27 Atheism existed long before communism, and the real problem is usually authoritarianism, anyway. You can have an absolutist monarch or something of the kind you believe reigns in the name of god, or you can have an authoritarian, autocratic government that is full of (technically non-religious) ideology. Decent states usually take the high road of secularity mixed with a bit of humanism. The country that is most neutral to peoples personal beliefs is usually the one that has the highest standard of living.
@rross27 Humanism is, like atheism, a concept that existed long before Marx was even born. It is - like atheism or religion - a very broad concept that is not rooted in Marxist philosophy - through Marxist philosophy might be described as rooted in and having influenced modern thought on humanism. Humanism does not even have to be non-religious and can be highly influenced by religious values. Also: The guy in that video might be a secularist, but this is like condemning Christianity by showing a video or something of one of those modern prophets who claim that the end is near. It is a strawman-argument in this conversation because I never made such claims and this sort of behaviour is not a distinct or necessary feature of secularism. Secularism is, by the way, only the separation of church and state. In the same way that atheism is just the absence of belief in a deity. So your arguments should be more rational than condemning a whole school of philosophy based on subjectively bad examples of it.
@rross27 So... you are trying to tell me that tell me that separation of church and state is bad because communists wanted it? That is like saying Christianity is bad because it was used to justify witch hunts and crusades. There are, by the way, many points in which socialism and the teachings of Christ align just naturally well. Because God's rewards in Jesus stories are usually not earned. The story of the lost son is just one example for that. Or that a rich man has the same chance to go to heaven as a camel to ho through the hole in a needle. One must also keep in mind that "communism" quickly came to mean just another form of authoritarian government that is not actually communist in the sense that Marx would describe communism. Russia or China are not actually communist - just like the GDR was not actually a democracy. The problem with communism is rather that it is practically impossible to achieve rather than that the idea itself is morally degenerate. And now, if you don't mind, tell me what "atheism really is".
I wish more people saw Jordan Peterson for the good, kind and genuine man that he is, rather than falsely accusing him of horrible deeds and labelling him as an evil person simply because they are less genuine than he is.
Interesting, I am listening to Dr. Peterson and is so uplifting, there is so much truth in his wisdom and I can't not notice sometimes the thumbs down by some who did not achieved I suppose anything in this life, or is just jealousy.
This hit so hard. I want to be good, I want being good to be my aim, I want nothing else than to create goodness. And hell, it IS worth all the trouble, the pain, the loneliness, the unbearable thought of not knowing what's next. It is worth the courage. The courgage to make your father proud, to push yourslef to the absolute limit of what a man can do, to fight like a lion, but then cry your eyes out because of all the beauty, humanity and meaning you encountred on that journey. Cry for the love you recieved, for the love you gave, the kisses, the tenderness, the understanding. Cry until no more tears can justify the grace of being alive.
@Psychonaut His body is poison by medicine. That is you cannot control. Western medical methods soldem know how to detox. Most of chinese mom know the herd to detox the body.

Jet Spencer I actually thought of Superman after he said that. I got to thinking... is Superman still not heroic? He doesn’t have to save people. Boy do we need this in America today!

And third place 😉
But fourth place people should never get a trophy 🧐
And then there's another approach from "searching for Bobby Fischer":
Bruce : Do you know what it means to have "contempt" for your opponent?
Josh : No.
Bruce : It means to hate them. You have to hate them Josh, they hate you.
Josh : But I don't hate them.
Bruce : Well you'd better start.

God bless you Dr. Peterson. My favorite quote "better to light one candle then to curse the darkness".
He is a Christian and he speaks about it.
@@vj9580 Doubt it since he's said he don't believe in a god but does act as if one exists.
