It's actually imperfect tire rubber, not "old" rubber. Rubber that didn't quite pass an inspection to be used on a tire. They cut out the good parts (usually most of the tire has excellent tread) and use that for the footbed of the Origens.
Just got a pair of Shamma Chargers few weeks back love um. Running a marathon in a 3 weeks was planning on sneakers but starting to wonder. Its a net downhill mostly on dirt/gravel roads and heck these are only 3+ oz. Thoughts ?
My main concern is the rubber used for the footbed. I want the stickiest shit possible! And I'm thinking the Monkey Grip on the Pacers likely provides more grip than the Mountain Goats. Thoughts?
De venado never changed its eyes it's always been the same thickness and always will be? I'm not sure where you got info but the info in this video is Wrong Leather laces are still available from Luna but may go out of stock from time to time
I hadn't heard of Shamma so this is appreciated. The only thing that I will add is that you are able to get the Venados in traditional lacing now.

Try the DIY sandals from Xero. 4mm rubber sole and you lace them yourself. Super thin and a lot of fun.
Where are Xero sandals made? Shamma, Luna and Earth Runners are all made in the US, and that's important to me.
